i'm waiting for obama's first 5-year plan:

it'll be something like this:

1st, we shoot all the lawyers.

2nd, we ship all the financial advisors, brokers, and 'engineers' to a labor camp in yunnan, in a reciprocal deal where tibetan monks who get out of line help build roads in the mojave.

3rd, we invite everyone who voted republican since the death of eisenhower to submit to a scarlet 'r' on their clothing, as an act of repentance. they must submit if anyone wants to kick them.

4th, dem voters get a 'd', and are laughed at by anyone. the fools thought the democrat party was better.

5th, all american money is recalled, and replaced with plastic tokens that can can only buy things at walmart.

6th, since 5 years of this won't be enough, obama will be president until the situation is improved. he'll let us know when that is.

Original article: Team America

one more team member needed;

the one who says: "driving foreigners into murderous rage is not good policy".

Tuesday, December 2, 2008 03:16 PM

20.000 soldiers are more than enough to protect the white house and capitol.

from you.

but it's a measure of the cowardice of the bush regime- 10,000 was probably enough.

actually, the dc coppers could have done it, given the willingness of americans to bob their heads to the president.

they used to teach history in the united states. it had only vague connection to reality, but i remember king george liked to billet his soldiers in private homes. wonderful pacification device, and the source of american laws against use of troops 'at home'.

even the romans had some sense of self preservation against their generals: generals who returned home for whatever reason had to leave their armies on the far side of the rubicon river.

politicians like to use armies to maintain their position. smart politicians don't do it though- when only the army votes, only generals win election.

Original article: The buck stops where?

dubya as manager of a truck stop.

that's probably his level of competence. or maybe he could handle a mcdonalds.

the political process put him in command of the worlds biggest war machine.

a rational person would now be thinking, "we need to change that process."

not many rational people in the us of a, is there.

if obama gets anywhere near this level of success,

i'll have to stop calling him a politician.

mr romm holds out a bag of candy, but it's going to be hard to get. i'd bet on the destruction of human society, with a 'saver' on total collapse of the biosphere before i'd hope to get near this program romm puts forward.

however, since there's no way to collect on my preferred position, would you all email obama and tell him he's a one term president if he don't do like jr said? thx.

what doesn't look too good?

no dead woman or live boy in his bed, america should be thankful.

considering the computing power avalilable nowadays...

you'd think a planned economy would be easy.

imagine if every 5-10 years, millions of people would not be thrown out of work, lose their homes, miss out on education.

what a boring old world that would be.

and you couldn't get rich. well, you'd have to work hard, for a long time. what a boring old world that would be.

when i think what the usa was like in the 50's...

i can see why the finns might be out front still, or on top. or however they do it.

not just an ideology-

also a political structure.

hierarchical society is only as sane as the man at the top. financial deregulation would never have happened in a society with citizen initiative.

Monday, December 8, 2008 07:55 PM

you write well...

there's lots like you, including men, your book should do well.

you personally seem ok. not perfect, but ok. news flash: count your blessings!

incidentally, diomedes might have an insight for you- there's lots of ravenous teenagers around, how are you at cookies and sympathy?

Monday, December 8, 2008 08:06 PM

inshallah indeed.

if your piece represents reality, dubya and his cabinet should be sent to the international criminal court.

but somehow, massive body counts don't count as long as they are not american body counts.why should america suddenly take an interest in the welfare of iraq, after spending the last 5 years kicking the shit out of it?

Wednesday, December 10, 2008 11:18 AM

hear! hear!

good writing, and i hope you're getting lots.

Thursday, December 11, 2008 12:38 PM

be a little tolerant, please.

it's really hard to turn tricks in teheran and a business woman would be foolish not to enlist latest technology.

anyway, we all know they are devils in disguise, those ayatollahs. for one thing, they are rude to our dear leader.

housing starts

this would be a very good development if it reflected a big drop in people starts 30 years ago....

Wednesday, December 24, 2008 01:11 PM

as i understand it,

torture isn't torture when done winners. america better never lose...

Original article: Obama talks about Hamas

hamas? freedom fighters, aren't they?

the zionists didn't respect the people of palestine, taking their land with gun and bomb. now they are affronted, when the palestinians want it back, with gun and bomb.

america will support israel, not out of respect for justice, but to avoid taking responsibility for past injustice.

Sunday, January 4, 2009 11:49 AM

richardson corrupt?

he's a politician.

but it's no use complaining about politicians doing what they do, the problem is you doing what you do: sit on your ass and complain.

get democracy, and start training politicians to work for a living.

Original article: The Israel rules

villains?

defending yourself against invasion, expropriation, ethnic cleansing, and terrorism makes you look like villains?

how very convenient.

Wednesday, January 14, 2009 09:20 PM

when it comes to dumb,

america's tax cows are world's best practice.

no use complaining about it though, they've been bred for submission and only moo! louder at the news they're being screwed again.

government rotten? voters degenerate.

you got the government you deserve.

Original article: This land is our land

our land?

cattle on a range can say that too, it's where they live. but when the grazier says it, he means something else.

english isn't clear between relation and possession.

examining the usa from mars, martians might conclude people are sheep, bankers are graziers, and politicians are sheep dogs.

Wednesday, January 21, 2009 02:59 PM

citizen initiative

... is the way citizens instruct, not tell, not ask, not beg, instruct their public servants what they want.

without citizen initiative, america is a monarchy. with it, america can be a democracy. and your choice is?
