Too late, too late
[Read the article: The right on Foley: Someone is to blame, and it isn't us]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]Ah, yes, the right wing machine in action. The e-mails must be false, the Dems are despicably exploiting this for political gain (horrors!), the Dems must have known, and so on.
Too late, Hastert and the GOP. The truth is already out. Being accused of being a pedophile is like being accused of beating your wife--the accusation sticks even if the truth turns out to be something else, which in this case it isn't. No matter what you do or how you spin, America already has the meme in their minds: Foley, pedophile, GOP, protecting him.
A plague on both your houses.

It's under "Tools" in Word
[Read the article: ABC: Foley solicited date with page]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]Mr. Terry, you should really spell check the stuff Karl Rove sends you before you post it. Otherwise we might think you're just an ignorant, illiterate right-winger deluded by the Bush reality distortion field.

My last word
[Read the article: ABC: Foley solicited date with page]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]And by the way, for those of you nursing a hissy fit over the ugly, salacious nature of this story and how it has nothing to do with politics, get over it. Questions of character, integrity and morality are the MOST IMPORTANT matters in poliical decision making.

OH. MY. GOD.
[Read the article: ABC: Foley had online sex during 2003 floor vote]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]I thought this story couldn't get any more vile and disgusting. I was wrong.
I'm also sick of hearing from people saying, "What does this have to do with politics? We should be focusing on the issues." Um, buttercup, what do you think would be happening if this were a Democrat--or Bill Clinton, god forbid--caught in this sort of thing? The GOP and their right-wing lap dogs in the media would be SHREDDING the Democrats as amoral and unfit to hold public office.
Think goose and gander. It's payback time, Republican beeyotches.

D.H., moving the rhetorical big old mo-fo refrigerator
[Read the article: Quote of the Day]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]OK...
HUH!
Let's see if I can...
HUH!
swing this bitch around...
HUH!
with my shoulder...
HUH!
and bring this whole thing...
HUH! Man, this fucker is heavy...
back to terrorism...
HUH!
and 9/11...
HUH!
because that's what Karl...
HUH!
told me to do...
UFF!
you get your pasty white ass out here...
UFF!
and move this thing, Karl.
UFF!
There! Whew. Nah, nobody'll ever notice.

And the sky is blue
[Read the article: Guns don't kill people, abortions kill people]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]Gee, the murder of innocent children is always wrong? Thanks for clearing that one up. Sorry for your loss, but that doesn't give you license to be an irrational boob...especially when the Amish school shooter said in his suicide note that he was "mad at God." Yeah, religion really made that problem go away.

Tis a far, far better thing...
[Read the article: Reynolds' chief of staff resigns, blames Democrats]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]Beautiful. The heads have begun to roll. I love to see vile, power-mad hypocrites be taken down by their own mendacity. It's even sweeter that the Democrats didn't do it...as long as they strategically exploit the hell out of it.
Hope you enjoyed your 12 years ruining this country, guys. You're gone.

Celebs and trends
[Read the article: Dude, where's my cross?]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]OK, let's see if I've got this straight:
Celebrities like Susan Sarandon and Tim Robbins who oppose hideous wars and dissent with the Republicans: BAD.
Celebrities (if you want to call him that) who spew NeoChristian hate and ignorance into our Current Occupant's ears: GOOD, apparently. Looks like Hollywood is A-OK if it's helping project the reality distortion field instead of attacking it.
And as for these thousands of newly-minted Xtian skater-boyz: two-thirds of them will be into something else in five years. The smart ones will wise up to the utterly pathetic stupidity of a guy like S.B., and the trend-drifters will drift into something else, like drugs, activism, or trying to make a shitload of money in Internet porn. The sheep will do what they always do and stick around, but sheep are never a threat. All they can do is bleat. Come to think of it, the same is true of their shepherds.
Sad, sad, that this should come from the guy who uttered the immortal line in "The Usual Suspects" while preparing to go sniper on about a dozen Argentine druggies: "Oswald was a fag."
Yeah, Steve, but at least he wasn't a deluded liar.

HAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!
[Read the article: Quote of the Day]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]Oh, I can't stand it...that's such a funny joke...the one a about the closeted gay Republican congressman who...oh, my stomach is starting to hurt...jacking off in the House bathroom while IMing a teenage page about the length of his man-meat...oh, I'm starting to get a headache...
Hey, James, have you heard the one...oh, this is just too rich...about the illegal war in Iraq...ow, my side...where more than 2,700 soldiers died and there were no WMD?
It's a killer, James.

No mystery
[Read the article: Quote of the Day]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]DMBfan34, I don't wonder at all about Dobson and his ilk.
These Chrinos (Christians in Name Only) are nothing but Neocons with a pulpit: power-mad politicians who cloak themselves in the rhetoric of family values and righteousness when in reality they are only interested in one thing: POWER. The power to reshape the world according to their desires and ram their doctrine down our throats.
The "true" Christians that I know don't spew about their faith and how it makes them superior to others. They do good works, help others, and tolerate and love people like me who do not share their faith. In other words, they are Christ-like.
Nothing surprises me about the James Dobsons, Ralph Reeds, Pat Robertsons and Jerry Falwells of the world or those like them. These days, when I hear someone start spouting off about how he's "a Christian," I immediately start watching out for the dick headed for my ass.
Case in point: read the piece on Pastor Baldwin. P-A-T-H-E-T-I-C.

Ironic
[Read the article: Warner: I'm out because family moments "are never going to come again"]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]The irony is that people like him, of character and integrity who understand what truly matters in this world, are exactly the kind who SHOULD be running for office. And they're the ones we repel with our meat-grinder, gotcha, scandal politics.
