  • Up is Down

[Read the article: Neoconservatives can't dig their way out of this hole]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

Here's another think about the war:

The neocons and their GOP whores continually claim that "cutting and running" (the current anti-Democrat talking point regarding a phased withdrawal from Iraq) would embolden the terrorists, throw the country into chaos and civil war, and make us less safe here.

Leaving aside the fact that the country is already IN civil war, let's look at this logically. Future reliability is based on past results, right? So, how many of the things the NeoCons told us would definitely come to pass before the war have actually happened?

    WMD? Nope.

    Welcomed as saviors? Uh-uh.

    Insurgents would fall apart? Negatory.

War would pay for itself? Nein.

Iraqi security would take over? Any day now, I'm sure...

    Terrorism would drop? Wrong answer.

So, none of the things you guaranteed would happen in Iraq have happened. That would suggest that you don't know your assholes from spider holes in the ground. By that logic, your predictions of chaos, death and civil bloodshed if we pull out must be just as specious, eh?

These clowns are the most incompetent leaders in our nation's history, unless you want to win an election through personal attacks. Then, they're brilliant.

Let's get the hell out and see who's right.

  • Jews? What? Huh?

    [Read the article: Apocalypse soon]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

"And I got some. I suggest Salon start a cooking column where they can cover new culinary arts, and of course those fucking Jews.

You folks here need not even pretend to pretend anymore. We got it. We really really understand where the Salon readership is coming from. Say it PROUD!!!!"

Are you very stoned? Where in the article or these letters have you found anti-Semitism? If I missed some I'm very sorry, but it seems to me the vast majority of the posters here are railing against wacko fundy Xtians, not Jew-bashing. The two are not the same. Personally, I did my Jewish friends and have a hell of a lot of respect for Israel, which puts up with a lot of shit and handles it better than, say, the U.S.

Then again, if you go looking for hatred, you'll probably find it if that's the way your mind is wired. Sad.

But since we're on the subject, how about a little Karnak the Magnificent:

    Answer: "Judo."

Question: "What are bagels made out of?"

Oh, I kill me. Try the veal. Thank you, good night.

  • Do what's right, dammit!

    [Read the article: Lieberman wins!]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

I am sick to death of everyone advising the Democrats to think strategically, tread the middle ground and not upset the apple cart. In other words, don't kick out Joe Lieberman (who's as much a Democrat as Zell Miller), because the Republicans might take back the Connecticut seat if he splits the vote as an independent! Oh, we're afraid to follow you, Bluto! We might get in trouble!

Enough already! If the Dems haven't figured it out by now, let me spell it out: you're in this position, losers of the last 3 elections, because you DIDN'T take a principled stand, DIDN'T reject political bullshit and do what was right, DIDN'T show real leadership and DIDN'T have the balls to drive a stake in the ground and say, "Screw political gamesmanship, we're going to show backbone and fuck what anybody thinks." Idiots, after six years of Bush and the GOP-wrought disasters we've experienced, that's what people want!!!!

So you did the right thing in getting rid of Joe L. Worry about the election when the election comes. Finally, at last, the Democrats might be starting to understand: Americans are sick of politicians. We demand leaders with guts and honor and principles. We don't want Joe Lieberman. And if for some reason enough of us are stuipid enough (again) in November to leave the GOP in control of Congress, we'll keep working it until we take the whole government back in 2008.

  • Appeal?

[Read the article: AIPAC ruling a blow to press freedom]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

So can this now go to a federal circuit appellate court, and then if necessary to the Supreme Court? I certainly hope so.

  • Cue the foam

[Read the article: Judge orders halt to warrantless spying program]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

Surely, the right wing blogosphere is awash in "Rush is Right" neanderthals flecking their PC monitors with spittle as they dash off an enraged response to this latest blow against absolute power for the First Imbecile.

I may have to lurk on Free Republic for a few minutes just to watch the fun...

  • Drinking the Haterade

[Read the article: Ask the pilot]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

Re: the "hate" link you posted Patrick...

...and that's surprising because? Free Republic is home to the most ignorant, reactionary members of the Cult of Bush this country will ever see. They're crap-spewing neocon robots who love to throw around termws like "Islamofascist" and "Insanistan" and whatever other neologism Karl Rove has coined today. They do not represent the majority of rational, non-delusional Americans, though they are entertaining in their pea-brained certainty.

Freepers do not speak for the rest of us, that's for sure.

  • And to top it off...

[Read the article: Mocking Bush is my patriotic duty]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

...the Gruesome Boobs would be a hell of a name for a band.

See? I just did my patriotic duty.

  • Still there

[Read the article: Hey, look! It's a picture of me with some macacans]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

As of 3:17 p.m. PDT, "Ethnic Rally" still posted.

  • Resist intense lobbying?

[Read the article: Republicans, Democrats defy Bush on detainees]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

I read lines like "resist intense lobbying from the White House" and I have to resist vomiting my left lung all over my Powerbook. Resist lobbying? C'mon, you spineless fucks, we're not talking about resisting waterboarding here! We're talking about resisting Karl Rove and Dumbass Dubya calling you to promise not to run attack ads against you in your district! Hang up the fucking phone!

I swear the first politician who shows balls and true ethics, I will vote for him or her for president in 08.

  • Huh?

[Read the article: And if my grandmother had tracks, she'd be a Bradley Fighting Vehicle]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

That's like being asked, "How are you today?" and answering "Avocado." I think Bush's stupidity and cluelessness may be the new pandemic.
