Let's get real for a second here.
Is Ted Kennedy running for President right now? No. So why exactly are you latching onto this.
You seem to see a Obama as the archetype of the chauvinist male; entitled, pompous etc.
Are you therefore planning on voting for McCain, who threw his first wife under the bus when he got back from Vietnam because she had been disfigured in a car accident? I guess she wasn't pretty anymore and Johnny Boy had to make up for lost time.
So he cheated on Mrs. McCain with Cindy, who was young and perky and a billionaire's daughter to boot.
Is this the man you plan on pulling the lever for in order to send a message that you're going to stand up to the patriarchy?
Obama's arrogant and imperfect. You know what, of course he is. He's a godamn politician... You HAVE TO BE an egotist to run for President, to some extent.
But you know what tells me he's better for women than McCain? McCain married a pretty little cheerleader who tows the line, but Obama married a strong career woman who doesn't ask for parity in their marriage, she EXPECTS it.
To me, his choice of wife speaks volumes about his view towards women.
I don't assume you're planning on voting for McCain, but if you are, please explain to me how his candidacy can be reconciled with the beliefs you highlighted above.
Sincerely,
Diomedes
You speak about us vs. them... "WE" aren't Obamaniacs, "WE" are mostly Democrats who just want to win in November!
Will your glee on election morning in November that you "showed them all" sustain you for the next 4-8 years as the Republicans continue to destroy this country?
I certainly hope so.
Goodnight,
Diomedes
Another first time poster!
Oh, sorry Rufus, I couldn't help myself.
Seriously though, his "repulsive wife?" She's an Ivy-League educated professional who represents the advancement of women into the top echelons in this country. AND she makes more money than her man... what's not to like about that?
Oh, I forgot, she's black.
...because PUMAs decided he was too inexperienced, I think we'd have to compare his candidacy to that of a certain inexperienced no-one who came out of no-where in 1992, charmed lots of folks with his winning smile, and still only squeaked by because Ross Perot divided the Republican vote.
Yeah, that was Bill. We took a chance on his inexperienced ass, and we did ok. And you know what? I wasn't crazy about him. But I voted for him. I held my nose about voted for him, just like I would have held my nose and voted for his wife, Hillary "35 Years of Experience" Clinton.
Speaking of which, could any of these "liberal Democrats" planning on voting for McBush please explain to me what vast, hidden portfolio of stunning accomplishments Hillary can point to?
I haven't seen it, but maybe y'all have. maureenodonnell? Anyone?
I think it's funny that you're berating me for pointing out McCain's past when, judging from your recent posts, you seem to have a Ph.D. in Barrack Obama History.
"I sincerely hope that snooping through keyholes or hanging from eaves, the projecting part of a roof, to spy through a window on illicit liaisons of the carnal type isn't how you get your jollies."
Oh please. You're being disingenuous criticizing me for raising this point when you've been reaching back as far as Chappaquiddick to lambast Barrack. Just come out and say you're a Republican already, honestly.
"McCain's divorce was between his wife and himself but perhaps you have an urge to be a Peeping Tom. That would look a bit sordid so it might suit you better to go down the judgmental track."
No Maureen, no it isn't. A candidate's decisions are fair game, and the fact that you've dissected Obama's past but howl when I mention McCain's unsavory choices convinces me that you are a Republican shill.
So you don't think it's relevant to the debate about who deserves the female vote that McBush dumped his wife for a pretty young thing when that car accident took her looks? Well I do.
"As far as I know, nobody died."
Chappaquiddick again! Good God, give it a rest.
"Furthermore, I now see that Cindy McCain is to be hunted down. This is a woman who's made mistakes but has also made amends, adopting a little Bangladeshi girl with severe congenital facial malformation, having paid for her surgery in the USA."
Yes, Cindy's a hero. She had an affair with a married man, but hey, don't pick on her! She adopted a girl, who the Bushes said was black... and that's relevant to Obama how? You're losing me here.
"The Bush gang stymied McCain's presidential hopes in 2000 by reducung politics to the genital region. Now, it seems, that you, an Obama acolyte, are not above the "win at all costs" strategy, no matter who gets destroyed in the process. Quite frankly, you make me sick. Try to get your warp staightened out. You can blather away now to the crack of dawn because I'm going to bed."
Yes, please go to bed. You've obviously had a long day, and mine has been made longer having to read this tripe.
...you should see the thread for the Shapiro article. Jeeeeesus.
