McCain and the Ladies

When The Maverick has his next Town Hall meeting, someone needs to step up to the microphone and ask the old guy, if he can remember back that far, if he was a virgin on his wedding night. You know, to the first wife. If not, did he use protection when screwing strippers, or are there potentially more McCains out there than we know about?

More follow up questions: Did you and Wife Number One, or Wife Number Two: The New Model ever use birth control? Does Meagan McCain use birth control?

I know such questioning would be crude, but it seems like it's the only way to get morons like McCain to actually see that their voting records and positions are not abstractions; they are decisions that affect the way all Americans are allowed to live their lives. When you contrast John McCain's lifestyle and political positions, it serves to amplify the hypocrisy of his entire campaign.

It's the Newtieness That Hurts

Yes, people cheat on their spouses. Men, women, all ages, careers, ethnicities. But to do so while running for high office, with a wife battling cancer, (remission notwithstanding) is just plain scummy.

I wasn't surprised by Newt Gingrich's inability to live up to the holier-than-thou "morals" that the right wing of the Republican party espouses; I did, however, hope that John Edwards was a decent guy.

I am happy to see that he admitted to narcissism. He hit that nail on the head...

So, If I'm Sober...

I'll be better able to run for my life, is that the thinking?

Then I guess women in high heels are "culpable" as well.

Why don't we all just break out the burkas, ladies. We don't want our lifestyles to contribute to violence against us...

Ooh, Look at Me, I'm "reporting"!

It has been reported in well-respected on-line magazine Salon that Corsi killed a nun. He is therefore unfit for office.

Here's my footnote:

Corsi is a closeted homosexual, child rapist, nun killing, meth addict republican satanist that produces oil in to the crust. -cab305

Since this would count as a reported fact using Corsi's own journalistic standards, perhaps he'd like to issue a denial?

We're not talking negative, we're talking libelous.

wright55whatever...

Your equation of questioning NBCs jingoistic Olympic coverage with "hating America" is so silly I wonder if your posts are actually satire...

The "liberals" you have been slamming probably love America more than people like you do, because they can love it in spite of its flaws. That's real love. Not the head-in-the-sand allegiance you seem to want from people.

America shouldn't whine in these situations simply because it's unbecoming of such a powerful and dominant country to do so. Yes, the Chinese are fielding too-young athletes, and they may end up being stripped of their medals one day, but you are a better country than that, so try some gracious behaviour.

Cynical Attempt to Win Over Hillary's Female Supporters

Give me a freaking break.

This woman is a joke. She is certainly the far-right poster girl for Conservative values, but she has no business being an aging-heartbeat away from the presidency.

And I love that McCain thinks women are so incredibly stupid and shallow that they will switch from supporting Hillary Clinton to McCain simply because there's a lady on the ticket. Really?? Is that why women supported HRC?? Sarah Palin believes in NOTHING that was important to HRCs supporters! Only an idiot would switch allegiances from HRC to McCain because of this asinine appointment.

Elephantman, and Others

The statement released by the Palins actually says that Bristol has CHOSEN to continue her pregnancy. That is all we Liberals, who you hate, have ever asked for, for anyone. The right to choose.

(Before you begin your knee-jerk Liberal-bashing, note that I'm not asking you to defend every putrid statement ever made by Ann Coulter, Rush Limbaugh, or the host of hate-spewing Conservatives out there, so don't trot out some of the less polite comments on this board.)

The Palins can't have it both ways- either Bristol is a child, and should be left alone by the media, or she is a woman about to get married and have a child. If she is the latter, then she is fair game for discussion, if not ridicule.

Sarah Palin and her family have chosen to go under the same microscope that is being used on the Obamas and the Bidens. Why is it considered mean when Liberals point out the hypocrisy of the Republicans, but due diligence when Conservatives attack Democrats?

This Whole "Country First" Thing...

...is really getting on my nerves. The implication being, of course, that the Democrats do not put country first.

And, really, how nauseating is it to hear Republicans, so early in this natural disaster, patting themselves on the back for effectively not fucking up twice in 3 years.

"See America, only a few thousand people need to die for us to learn valuable lessons that can be applied to the future! Vote Republican!"

Barf.

The Daily Show

I know others have pointed this out, but The Daily Show and The Colbert Report are the best places to see this hypocrisy laid out before us. The clips they plaid back-to-back of Karl Rove and Dick Morris last night were absolutely priceless.

Thing is, this hypocrisy IS NEWS, and we only really hear about it on "comedy" shows!!

Why doesn't someone on CNN, after Rove bloviates, play the frigging tape of him saying the exact opposite a few weeks ago and ask for an explanation??

Thanks Salon, for doing a bit of the work here. This election is like the Bizarro World. I don't know if I can stand another 2 months of this!

Thank God for Comedians

The episode last night was priceless. Half way through I hit "record" on my PVR because I want to be able to watch it again this weekend, while I detox from the bits of the RNC I was able to stomach.

The MSM won't do its job, but at least someone will...
