"Well done calif mike"?

Really?

If Pearlstein had bothered to listen to even a little conservative talk radio, he’d know how little the conservative base thinks of the current batch of Republicans.

So the "conservative base" thinks little of the GOP leadership. On the one hand, I'd say "No shit!"

On the other, I'd say, "Well the leadership [although I'd advise strongly against using that word since it denotes humans who actually have the gravitas and intellectual tools to--you know--lead] is about as defective, moribund, corrupt, degenerate, filthy, Godless [that's for the religiously intolerant, among us], disgusting, unethical and hypocritical as is humanly possible.

Other than that, you guys are on the right track.

Enjoy a dead planet where your descendants can play among the ashes of a species that tried--at least some of them, and it ain't the likes of you--to make this world a better place.

Maybe they can munch on whatever detritus is available while they wait, without end, for that never-to-come-about Rapture.

At least they'll feel holy, even as they weep uncomprehendingly at the world they've inherited.

Jesus Loves Me This I know,

for the idiocracy tells me so

There already building the death camps for white people, and a porto rican on the surpreme court and a negro in the white house quinches it. Listen to Rush Limbaugh and Glen Beck and wake up before we white people loose our country.

Good Christ--so this is how it ends; with illiterates ("porto rican") and dead-end losers ("a negro [for Christ's sake] in the white house quinches [and I really got a kick out of that one] it") storming the barricades.

And for what? When Cicero was executed, head separated from body, hands hacked off at the demand of Marc Antony (because Cicero had written the dreaded Philippics that spoke disparagingly of Antony), I'll bet he lamented, in much the same way, what the world had become.

Human history.

It's a real shame.

Jesus Christ, Rocky

barack obama grew up as a marxist. michelle obama grew up as a marxist. virtually all of their mentors were marxists. now, at least temporarily, comrade obama has become a fascist by agreeing to work with capitalists in some cases in the same way hitler did.

You've single-handedly destroyed the entire agree-upon lexicon of political terminology.

Next, you'll be saying, "that Obama, man he's one lousy Islamic Jew Christophobe who engages in femine-loving, anti-semitic pedastry."

But after that you can return to furling your flag, shining your assault rifle, beating the wife--you know, the usual Saturday stuff of relaxation.

Thanks for those corrections. I knew I'd messed the whole thing up (and shouldn't have even tried in the first place--but, you know, you go for the joke, even when it fails) and couldn't recall the rules regarding masculinity, femininity, etc, never mind the Du und Sie distinctions.

Aren't you the guy who also speaks Portuguese?

Do you teach languages (if you don't mind my asking)?

O'Bama's official playbook is "Mein Kampf"

Oh, Eureka.

Zing.

Truth to Power.

Let's see, what other cliches can I summon? Hmm, none at the moment which means I'll just have to say, "Terkoy, Sie sind eine Dumkopf. Ja sind sie."

I'll just wait for piece 'o cake to arrive and correct my appalling German.

Oh, pablo

I remember...

back in the old days when Salon was outraged about George W. Bush saying "you're either with us or with the terrorists" when it came to the foreign policy debate!

Yet now, at least one Salon writer is implying that "you're either with Obama or you're with the racists" when it comes to the health care debate!

You're certainly correct in noting that GWB--The Great Emancipator of All People Brown--(or, as he's known more affectionately, "George the Mental Defective") actually said that about terr'ists (Helpful translation on that last word: Them there brown people; we call 'em brownies!)

But now you say Walsh has implied (and you even use quotation marks to support your view of what you think she implied but never actually said! Clever, clever) that opponents of Obama's proposals (and the House and the Senate and about, oh, say, 75% of Americans) are racists.

Here's what most people are asking for: a reasoned debate about this issue; heck, even GOPers will agree about the need for reform.

Now, sure, reasonable people can have reasoned disagreements about this matter. But note the word, reasoned. That means no shouting down of people, no threats of violence and no complaining that the Constitution is being shredded (which was done under the Regime of George the Bungler, which is his Mom's nickname for him. She thinks he's cute and adorable for being such a murderous thug).

Nice Money Quote

But I don't see many trying – and if they can't do it now, when the truth is clear and the lies are flying – I can't see how they ever will.

And payoff to a fine editorial (which I can, of course, say since I agree with it Ah, the beauty of agreement!).

An interesting first hand account of the Missouri Teabagging Health Care Town Hall Riot

That was an ass-kicker of a link. Very sad, very dispiriting.

I going to bed.

(just got back here)

Yes, "Lois" is really a man posing as a woman posting here. A fat, middle-aged straight man.

I agree with you about "Lois" being some beer drinking guy named Frank.

There's always a weird sexual undertone guys like that bring to the game.

Quite unwholesome, really disturbing and altogether discomfiting.

Sorry, Frank, but you lose (and Santa hates you, too--oh, and for good measure, bud, the New England Journal of Medicine has no interest in examining your brain upon your happy [for the rest of us] demise. Worms like you are a dime a dozen).

As a PostScript, I sometimes think, "T3, you're really mean and cruel," but most of the time I think, "No, guys like Frank the Beer Drinker deserve it--a little spice to go along with that cirrhosis that's nicely billowing about and expanding that already expansive belly."
