WillofNH and Slavery

What happened to Ms. Clinton's retoric (sic) about being tired of being called unpatriotic for opposing George Bush? Sorry libs, we aren't all as ignorant as you assume. Most Americans can even think and make their own decisions about what is best for them, their families and their country. Castro may need your help but we don't!

Your last sentence wasn't very helpful, since it betrayed your rather lame and superficial "political views."

About the Clinton comment, whoever said people ought to be demonized for expressing a contrarian political point? (And please note I said "people," not demagogues, not politicos, not talking heads, not stooges, etc.)

About your other statement that "most Americans can even think and make all their own decisions ...," well, that's really rather the point. As it stands, corporate America makes those decisions for us--for you. Take, for example, healthcare--to what degree can you decide anything. 0 degree (Oh, except for, "Hmm, should I purchase coverage--which they'll rescind at a moment's notice--or should I not?").

That's a fact, bud, and you can spin that anyway you want. You aren't free. You're a slave like the rest of us (me, I swab pitch beneath those big stones, like the kind we see on the 10 Commandments movie).

Jebbie

We're fucked. I'm not worried about me so much as I have very little time to worry about, but it just galls my ass to think of what we are leaving my sons and grandaughters.

This, too, is my greatest concern. I really don't care much about the "me" part, but for the generations that come after. I fear--greatly fear--that they'll live in a world of just utter dilapidation on all fronts and for all the obvious reasons.

What puzzles me, and what's always puzzled me, is those at the top cannot seem to see that it affects their progeny as well.

Unless they just don't care (and I've probably just answered my own question).

Xrandadu Hutman

I'm just swimming in cash over here for writing messages on Salon.com. (Great work if you can get it!)

I hear you. I, myself, make my living doing this and, let me say, I've made a lot of friends at the local soup kitchen.

Except for that guy who keeps shouting, "No soup for you," but then I think he's youngservative's Mom (yeah, that's right, Mom).

SARAH PALIN Is Always Right,& Once Again Exposes Obama/Pelosi And Dems Evil ... With all the illiteracy and cover-up from the salon muggers of ... bloggers who cannot spot and hold-on to the Truth, will end-up ... in the ditch for following the blind bully-obama & his thugs .

You guys really crack me up. You can't even get a coherent sentence out, can you? And while you mutter than Palin is always right, I want to remind you that it's her son, Calculus, who's always right (and I don't even think that's a joke).

Now go outside and play.

We're having sloppy joes for dinner to celebrate your sloppy writing.

Wait, What?

Calling them ... teabaggers ISN'T demonizing them? chiefpayne

I thought that's what they called themselves.

Before you know it, some wisenheimer will show up and say, "How dare you call me a Republican?! I'm a proud member of long-standing in the GOP! And that stands for Good Old (town hall) Protesters, my poor benighted communistic, socialistic, fascistic rat bastard friend. (But I say that with all the Christian concern about your well-being I can otherwise muster ... you rat bastard)."

I fulfilled all my responsibilities at NCTC that I was asked to fulfill.

Hah, Hah

"You're a Socialist, Fascist pig!"

Man, I'm just waiting for someone to shout, "You lousy Jew Christian Muslim! Why don't you get some religion!"

Then that long-sought-for unification theory will have been found, the sun will go nova and the universe will come to its appropriate and unhappy end--maybe it'll be another Big Bang and we can all go out having group sex (and that last part is a direct quote from the Red Letter edition [NIV]).

Oh, Joe,

you'll probably take it on the chin from the usual slobbering suspects but this is a timely reminder (and a real stiletto to the eye) for the Right (aka the liars, hypocrites, degenerates [since they refuse to exit that sexual closet] and all around monkey men [since they refuse to exit that evolution closet]).

Yet by the standards of the present moment, as these same conservatives mobilize against health care reform to “stop socialism,” that same great man was actually a raving Bolshevik.

Even as we speak, Wm. Kristol is searching for those pieces of his now-exploded head.

But this, from Churchill himself

Our policy is to create a national health service in order to ensure that everybody in the country, irrespective of means, age, sex, or occupation, shall have equal opportunities to benefit from the best and most up-to-date medical and allied services available.

That is just downright un-Christian. After all, "the poor ye shall always have with you," and by God, we are determined that this Word of God be followed to the letter, even as we obey those other biblical principles of kicking people when they're down, and glorying in it.

Oh, and stem cell stuff is bad, too.

You do not have health insurance. Let me repeat that. You do not have health insurance. (Unless you are over 65, in which case you do have health insurance).

Exactly so.

And to think so many are scurrying about, angst-filled, with the usual selfish "Don't take my" whatever when all along, they're being played for the dupes they are.

I suppose the number is infinite when considering how many times that miserable story is played out.

As I've often thought, the first guy to demand compassion from, say, the justice system, is also the first guy to watch COPS and nod, "yeah, buddy, you had that beating coming."
