Holy Moly

a lot of bullshit here today. A fine, and expected, way to start the New Year.

That's the liberal way. Can't compete with Rush Limbaugh? Advocate for the Fairness Doctrine and shut him down. Can't debate William Kristol? Throw a pie in his face? Can debate a poster on a forum? Ban him.

Perhaps you're not aware that not a single--not one--leftist/liberal/progressive/Satanic/lisping elected representative has demonstrated a desire to revisit the Fairness Doctrine. Limbaugh et. al. talk it up as a signature component of their conspiratorial idiocy but it doesn't make it so. And "debating" Kristol and the rest of those troglyditic hosers (eh?) is particularly laughable.

Groenhagen, take Pedinska's advice and buy a "prescritpion" for penis enlargement. That way, when I meet you in the alley I'll know who you are (but no "fighting"; playing doctor is more my thing).

the Orange County ska scene

I truly dig ska (although I'm an aficionado of UK ska). Now, while I'm no constitutional scholar, The Specials and Selecter, particularly, bring me groovin' pleasure.

Wait! Why not let him keep the Senate seat also? Do we even need a Senate and a SS given his preeminent scholarship? Truly, we have found dear leader!

You're losing me here. By SS do you Schutzstaffel? Honestly, German is Greek to me unless we're talking struesel, schnitzel or sauerbraten (oh, and also, baklava).

Who all in this conversation is plastered?

Me.

It's the only reason I'd mention sauerbraten which is a pretty lousy food otherwise.

Thank you.

Oh, Head

you should walk away right now.

I hear the thunder and see the lightening already.

So if we ignore the Arab Israelis, who are given full citizenship and voting rights, Israel refuses to give Arabs full citizenship and voting rights ... this is pathetic logic.

The logic is clear. That you choose to be dishonest is another matter. Israel is quite skilled, I suppose you could say, in suffocating the Palestinians right and left in an effort to slowly strangle them in a political and economic context. When those efforts meet resistance (what a surprise), down rain the bombs. You know this is so but continue to play the role of, in your mind, a highly-skilled rhetorician.

Also, care to comment on Egypt, Syria and Jordan's policy on allowing Palestinians to immigrate to their countries?

Why should these countries assist Israel in its ethnic cleansing? Why should Palestinians leave their own land and homes? It'd make you happy, I know, but it shouldn't come as a surprise that the Palestinians might be less than willing to do your bidding.

Are you aware how many Jews living in Arab lands were kicked out in 1948? Iranian Jews? Iraqi Jews? Do you care? Have you bothered to pick up a history book and educate yourself on how many Jews were stripped of their land and had their money stolen by Israel's neighbors?

Of course I'm aware of this. I don't need a history lesson from you. I find it interesting, however, that you think the former (Jews expelled from Arab nations) justifies the expulsion of Palestinians from their homes. This is, I guess, your idea of logic?

If you want to ascribe noble motives to Egypt, Syria, Jordan and Lebanon, who block the Palestinians from resettling, go right ahead. But then you just prove you're a moron.

I didn't ascribe "noble motives to Egypt, Syria, Jordan and Lebanon." I simply asked why they should assist Israel in ethnically cleansing the land in question.

Your perversion of the meaning of "ethnic cleansing" does an historical injustice to every example of actual ethnic cleansing. Your tragic abuse of the English language is as damaging as Soviet-era propaganda.

How have I perverted the term? Didn't you ask why other Arab nations won't take in Palestinians? Aren't you arguing on behalf of ethnic cleansing?

Israel could've killed every last Palestinian years ago [nobly put, that]. As recently as 1998, the borders were porous, and hundreds of thousands of Palestinians crossed these borders every day, given work permits to work in Israel. This is "ethnic cleansing"?

No, it's indentured servitude. A people with no political power and at the economic mercy of the other. But it's a sign of genuine nobility, decency and humanity that, once upon a time, Palestinians were "given work permits to work in Israel."

You know, I think perhaps you are Cato or, maybe, Cicero.

They're dead, too.

By the way, thanks for the "ass clown" and "moron" comments. For my part, and for one of the few times that I can recall, I've actually refrained from calling someone names. It makes me proud of myself.

I'm just asking questions.

All of a sudden, huh? I've been waiting for the classical passive-aggressiveness to show itself. I understand why a series of sound arguments directed against your emotional flailing might bring this about, but I'm understanding only to a point. You brought this on yourself and lack the courage--and coherence--to respond with rigorous thought (never mind dignity) to those arguments. You, zenwick and that Hollywood caricature should re-examine your humanity and stop being so afraid.

I sure hope it's not genetic in nature 'cause I'm about as blonde and blue-eyed as a Shiksa Sex Goddess (h/t Mooser) gets.

I like Derbig's understanding of shiksa (it was positive, before maureen ruined it). Plus, Seinfeld framed it positively, too.

Now, while I'm neither blond nor a Sex Goddess, I do have blue eyes.

That probably makes me either a schlep or a schmuck, not sure which.
