You support fascism. You support censorship. You support a racist neo nazi prick who hides behind his own self importance. Not that those are bad things, I just want him and you to cop to it is all. Since Glenn pretends to be all about 'openess' and dialog it's important that words belie that. Which again, while rank hypocrisy is fine, it's vitally important to admit that that's what it is. And you're only half kidding about grovelling at Glenn's shoes.

I thought about pasting this diatribe in its entirety (and I came pretty close, too), but I'd like to know how "I support fascism ... censorship ... [and] support a neo nazi prick ...."

What evidence is there for any of this? And in the absence of evidence, what are your accusations worth? Aren't you censored here because you post little of interest other than insults (which, admittedly, I've done, too)? Is the NYTimes fascistic if they won't print your letter to the editor? And don't other sites that have moderation in place?

And what do you mean by "neo nazi"? Has Glenn (or I, since you've included me in your accusation) argued on the basis of race, creed, nationality or religion? Isn't the very point of this blog the opposite of that? Can you provide examples for this charge?

So, in sum, I'm not clear what you want me to cop to.

As for being Glenn's ombudsman, no, that role goes to karr(sic) since "ombudsman" isn't a word I can pronounce, much less define.

So my dear Eating Raul, If that is your real name ....

I'm pretty sure it's his real name.

Drunken sot I'm not so sure about, unless it's a nefarious Middle Eastern reference to teetotaling.

Hmmm?

My dear Timothy3, Eating Rauol was a movie. A sot is a drunkard, from the middle english. I am quite old. Drunken sot simply means a drunk drunkard. It was a common insult in my wayward youth when mead was flowing and ale was frothing and sloshing.

Yeah, I got it. Thanks though.

Oh, sysprog

Frothingslosh, indeed.

Thanks for that laugh (after today's morbidity).

Refractor

His [Greenwald's] plea that the United States cease all involvement in the search for peace between those nations is cast in the guise of even-handedness.

Oh bullshit.

His post was about preposterous, ridiculous and unnecessary entanglements with other nations. He didn't write about the US ceasing "all involvement in the search for peace ..." etc. etc.

Note: The nation which indulges towards another a habitual hatred or a habitual fondness is in some degree a slave. (George Washington)

What is this column about? It's about American foreign policy. Not Israel's, not the Palestinians, not Iran's, nor anyone else (fill in the blank).

This is utter, utter, horseshit and it needs to stop.

Goddamnit.

I'm Going to Second JPK1000

and note that between them, Refractor and ImamAli have between them something like 7 letters at Salon. Go promote this crap elsewhere, you guys. What a disgrace (which I say from one human to another "human"). What rot.

JPK1000 & omooex

Thanks, JPK1000. I hope you are too (although these people are driving me crazy).

omooex--If this had been my blog, I would not only have deleted you, I would have banned you, tracked you down, and punched you in the face. However, this is Glenn Greenwald's blog, and he's just a better person than me.

Hear hear. I get very passionate about nonsense (politely put) that masks God-awful feelings or emotions. Glenn's almost certainly a better man than me, too, although my ego tells me, "Hey, you're passionate. Don't be so hard on yourself."

"ImamAli"

Why are you getting so upset? I'm on your side. I think the Palestinians should continue to send suicide bombers in to public places in Israel and kill as many innocent women and children as possible.

Pathetic. JPK1000 never said any such thing. Why can't you be honest here (beginning with a cleverer screen name--ImamAli! Good G_D! Such genius!)? If you want Palestinians to be utterly, permanently dispossessed, then say so. If you believe they have no right to biblical land, say so. If you believe they should be treated as sub-human (sorry, "human," in accordance with what I guess is your definition of "human," [which the rest of us would call sub-human or, dare I say, "slaves]) then say so. Stop these contortions, these supposed mental gymnastics, these sorry "arguments," and say what you mean. Why is that so hard? This isn't a debate club, after all. Christ, just out with already.

Jeff_S

except to say it goes beyond torture

What does this mean? What torture is beyond torture? And I'm glad to see you parrot the "aggressive interrogation tactics" line used by your own government. If Orwell were alive, why, he wouldn't be turning in his grave right now.

I would think Mr. Taylor engaged in tactics such as gang rape and chopping off of limbs on a mass scale, to mention just a few.

You have no knowledge what the US did to captives, apart from "helping" them die. Someone earlier spoke of a finger being cut off. But maybe digits aren't worth as much as limbs, huh?

Good Lord, what are you defending?

You Guys

are on fire today.

DcLaw1: hypocrisy crumpets

I like naughty crumpets with my hypocritical, uncouth and pedestrian non-organic Lipton tea. Isn't that awful of me? A Vanderbilt/Cooper/AC360 I'll never be. Good thing I'm happy living in my trailer.
