It's always nice when a young man delivers papers to let his mother take a night off from the streets and allow her calloused back to heal a little.
That's cold. It's funny, but it's cold.
Okay, funny wins out.
You really are a barrel of laughs. Your refined spirituality is what stands out most to me. I congratulate you on your incipient advance from Pleistocene mammal to modern human (although, as a prerequisite, you have to calm yourself and speak sensibly).
I was merely agreeing with someone that the current set-up has this inherent problem that the prospective interviewees would stay home if they figured they'd get hard questioning.
I've been following the back and forth here and I have to say (as someone, Kitt I think, noted earlier) that these people wouldn't just stay home if they were faced with tough questions. They'd have to get their "message" out somehow and would probably revert to accusing the media for distorting that message. But they do that anyway so nothing is lost by asking challenging questions and demanding that they justify, legally, morally or otherwise, why they've chosen to do what they've done. To wit: instead of this from Gregory:
So only the replacement of Hamas by Fatah, by more moderate leaders, appears to be the only answer
how about a real question, such as, how do you (livni) justify an attack on a democratically elected government? Or, what is the current status of negotiations between Israel and the democratically elected Hamas? Or, why do you continue to blockade and otherwise disrupt food and medical supplies to the people of Gaza? How do you justify that? How is that not a war crime? Or, Israel is often described as the only democracy in the Middle East, yet the Palestinians also elected their leaders. What does your assault on Gaza say about Israeli democracy? What does it say about civilized behavior.
That at least would be a clear challenge to the powers-that-be that the press won't act as a sycophantic supporter of those powers.
I see the usual idiots are here ... Glenn and his 9 friends changing the world.
I have to say, that really made me laugh. Probably not in the way you intended, but still.
You can forget that shalom stuff since it contradicts everything you write. And what is this "Limbwald"? Does it mean "leg of the hairy forest"? If so, I think I know the limb to which you refer: a rather rotund, cigar-chomping bloviate who broadcasts his "insights" from somewhere-in-America. Maybe his legs are hairy, I don't know, but I believe he lives under a bridge in the forest where trolls are known to congregate.
ss: I'm seeing double, aren't I?
poc: who is david gregory? and who was Tim Russert? - Glenn why don't you finally start watching TV programs which matter - and about the Gaza mess - that's much too serious to leave one of the usual stupid comments - so I will refrain ... Don't you have anything better to do at this time of the year either - this is pathetic!
I recognize that much of this is tongue-in-cheek but, seriously, these programs are illustrative of what an execrable media we have. These people must be forced to do their jobs. And I mean forced, too. Relentless clinical evisceration of the type that Glenn provides needs to continue. I'm pleased, for one, when he cites "commentary" from others who ridicule him, insult him, etc., since it means they're reading him. Someone mentioned earlier on (again, Kitt, I think) FDL's post about Joe Klein seemingly having gotten religion. Well, good. I attribute this to all the sites we're familiar with. It cannot stop until these people get it together and start doing their jobs.
The ability to post 'anonymously' was left in the mobile edition of Salon. Apparently at The Glenn's behest, their fix to that was to crash the entire letters function on the mobile edition of Salon thereby making it more or less useless. Great Fucking Job! All Hail The Glenn.
What is your problem? You clearly don't like what Glenn writes, you disagree--yes, all clear. So why this truculent whining? You're free to vent your spleen at Townhall.com or pajamasmedia or any other such place. (And although I don't know about the mobile edition thing, why do you want to post anonymously? Say, you aren't that electro ....?)
P.S. Just to mollify you, I'm returning to my Glenn Altar and will light a candle in your name. Incense is extra (and I'm on a budget).
