And, judging from the horrified reaction of the commenters on Yglesias' blog, it will also be interesting to see how readers who are used to an anti-establishment position, perhaps even attracted to the blogs by it, react,
"the anti-establishment position" continues until we see the necessary changes to a grossly distorted (Constitutionally) Executive Branch, a sadly shriveled Legislative Branch and a non-Federalist Society-dominated Judiciary.
Just because the Democratic Party won several congressional seats, as well as the presidency, doesn't mean the fight is over.
As for the ThinkProgress/Yglesias' blog issue, it would've been far better for the site's honcho to voice her position/opposition elsewhere on the site. Otherwise, it sure seems like indirect, de facto censorship to me (regardless of what Yglesias himself says).
Funny stuff ... One flock of chattering loosers complaining that another herd of losers dare disagree with them.
I object to this as a looser.
however, it's darkest before the sonrise.
Lord Odin, a pun!
Wait, "sonrise." But how would you term unleavened bread?
"The sonnever rose"?
And here's yet another pun: liberal democrats have shoved the truth under the rug and blamed bush....
Go to the head of the class at the Bible "college" of your choice (on me--I think I can spare the $13.28 annual tuition).
A. The CIA guy says he supports rendition, etc. and that should prevent him from being head of the CIA. B. Obama fully supported Blago's career and had close ties to him and Aires, Wright etc. But those should be dismissed as non issues. C. This clearly defines the difference between bloggers and journalists.
This would make sense if Obama had said something publicly like "You know, I've always been a supporter of selling Senate seats to the highest bidder."
Thus, that would be an appropriate analog for this statement from Glenn: the case against John Brennan as CIA Director -- from the beginning -- was based almost exclusively on comments he made on television, after he left the CIA, in which he supported rendition and what he called "enhanced interrogation tactics."
But Obama didn't, Brennan did, and there you go.
No soup for you. Next!
I am merely a typist, sitting in my cave dressed in my Jammies.
I think that's the cave I sublet. I'm sitting in the cave across the street trying to figure out why I keep messing up the html (or, Benedictine, as we jammie-wearing monks call it) rule.
has demonstrated his religious commitment to his religious commitment.
What else to make of Now comes news that that language has been removed from the site.
Let's see, who else demonstrated such perfidy? Why, yes, it was Peter (see the appropriate passage regarding the cock [!] crowing three times).
I'm no fan of Fox, but why are they singled out here when the entire media is gathered around the Madhatter's table for tea? You make clear that the entire media is at fault, perhaps even more than Fox. You state the Fox report does a better job than most, yet single them out as Wonderland.
Did Glenn single them out as "Wonderland," or was that written by the headline guy? And did he "state the Fox report does a better job than most"? Here's what he said: If anything, the Fox report was actually better, since they at least included a quote from me referencing Brennan's pro-rendition-and-torture statements -- though I might as well have spoken in Farsi given what little impact that had on the rest of the commentary:
In short, Fox is the subject of the post because Glenn appeared on Fox. The rest of your comment, alas, reflects a ginormous acknowledgment that you didn't read closely enough.
Do you imagine that GG's comments would have had an impact on the rest of the commentary on any of the other networks?
I don't imagine that at all. My response was really Fox-specific. Anyway, Glenn probably answered your comment satisfactorily. Also, let me add, I was instrumental in the Dayton Accord as well, being second to Hal Holbrook's (or is it Richard?) "emissary for peace and tranquility" (an official title for him; mine was "Get me another Starbucks, you!").
after all, as Ann Curry, NBC News Anchor (and therefore "journalist") pointed out, Yes, it's now officially winter, but that doesn't explain how it is that Seattle has five times the snow it usually has on average this time of the year.
Lou Dobbs told viewers that the weather has been "unbelievable," because there are "unusual storms and a deep freeze across much of the country tonight." Dobbs was particularly animated about snowfall in Las Vegas, Malibu, and Payson, Arizona. "So what are those folks talking about global warming?" Dobbs asked incredulously.

Ah, journalists. They're so ... journalistic! And did I mention that they're professionals "whose mission is to report facts objectively and dispassionately"?
What I like most about Glenn's work, though, is his investigative reporting. I just like people who are willing to dig through stuff and then put it back together coherently.
I would term this analytical, rather than investigative, reporting. A quibble perhaps. But maybe not.
Glenn has had a number of exclusive "investigative" pieces, although the funniest one was kind of an accident. Look up "Boylan," and you'll find a fresh expose that's part Woodstein/part Daily Show, with, on Boylan's part, a bit of SNL thrown in.
That's right, I forgot about that one.
So, since this is the season for self-flagellation (or is that Lent?), I'll proceed to eat, drink and be merry.
