I don't have to. I believe the OLC has already done that for me. Assuming you mean the Office of Legal Counsel and not the Ohio Library Council...
It was difficult for me to get beyond this. Very funny. And to think I'm a member of this council (and we're instructed to obey the orders of the OLC which, understandably, creates confusion).
Jebbie's a hero!
If only I can get my moniker added to the troll list.
And I don't think I'm too far away from that (or being banned by Glenn, for that matter).
If I hear one more righty retard spout the mantra "he kept us safe," I'm going to do something desperate. A bit of backdating is of course involved, since the big one occurred while The Decider was indisposed, and inattentive, and a few warnings were, well, no one could have imagined, after all.
Yes, what was it George was "reading" at the time? A picture book of goats or something? The Decider was learning our young how to be safe, faithful, spiritual and educationable. Or something. Then 9/11. But since then, man, we've been safe!
With that kind of overdue, well deserved recognition for your hard work, especially you Harpie, it should move more people to help us limp The Dick and burn The Bush.
Very nice. That's my kinda language (pre-Viagra and penicillin days)!
Hey Psycho. I bet that little gold star gave you a chubber. Your boy will lose. Mark my words. 10/30/2008;
REASONS WHY THERE WILL NOT BE A REPUBLICAN ROUT AND WHY MCCAIN WILL WIN: He's a radical. His friends are radical. America is not. 10/30/2008
Add the seedy cast of Obama "friends" especially this new revelation of the Palestinian party video with his "best friend" Kalid who baby sits Barack's kids --and there's NO WAY he'll win the Jewish vote. Americans smell a Marxist. 10/28/2008
For a second there, I was worried we had a prophet on our hands.
GAAARRRGH! That's the sound of me pulling my hair out! WTF is wrong w/ you people? YOU'RE DOING THE EXACT GODDAMN THING GLENN IS TALKING ABOUT!! (Feel the unbridled wrath of the CAP LOCK) You're worrying about prostitution (victimless or not? Discuss) instead of effing War Crimes!
I got as far as your comment in the comments' section and had the same thought. Good Lord! We're talking about Spitzer and his personal behaviour but not the more--obvious--pressing issue?! I suppose it's little wonder why people like Cheney will skate. After all, we have Blago & Hair to ramble on about.
Bush can only be held responsible for deaths caused by those who report to him (i.e. US troops) - deaths caused by the Iraqi insurgency are no more his responsibility than Winston Churchill is responsible for the Londoners killed in the Blitz. If you want to argue otherwise, then the Iraqi insurgents are "responsible" for Abu Ghraib, since they "made" the US administration and troops do it.
This is truly bizarre. George initiated this onslaught which has murdered countless Iraqis (plus 4,000+ American soldiers). Churchill's Londoners were on the receiving end. And your last statement, that Iraqis are responsible for Abu Ghraib, is beyond belief. Might as well say to the molested child, "Hey, if you weren't so sexy, I wouldn't have done it. It's really your fault!"
You're right, and it's like those "more pressing issues" that you are talking about are NEVER brought up by Glenn or this comment section! Wake up, people! It is like everyone that posts here is asleep when it comes to US Government chicanery or something!
Thank God you aren't into snark (or "irony"). It's only 10:50 and already I need Advil.
You make exactly my point. US troops (and by extension, the US leadership to whom they report) cannot be held responsible for the civilian casualties caused by attacks on them - the choice to attack or not is in the hands of the attacker, not the one attacked. US troops can be held responsible for the deaths of non-combatant civilians killed by US munitions, but in no way can they be held responsible for civilians killed by those _trying_ to kill the US troops. To do so is to argue exactly what you say, that the US troops somehow _made_ the attackers attempt to kill them.
Excuse me, but no. Those civilian casualties are the direct result of US policy. Do you see? All that has resulted so miserably for the people of Iraq is a direct consequence of our "policy makers" (also known as maniacs). Those conditions were created by us. Certainly there are Iraqis who've made use of those circumstances to advance their own interests, but it's simply too much for you to try to evade our responsibility as--what I might term--"condition creators." And, you know, I accept my part of this responsibility as an American. Even though I didn't vote for George, I recognize my part in this as a citizen. I wish you'd acknowledge yours as well.
And btw, any harm to street-level sex workers -- whose pimps "own" them and perhaps beat them -- is a result of the laws against sex-for-pay, not the consensual contract itself.
That's right and although I didn't want to distract from the war-crime responsibility issue, your thought was thrumming (?) through my mind. Anyone who talks about the less-than-sterling aspects of the sex trade seems to conveniently ignore that much of the downside is due less to the act than the illegality of it (and all the repercussions that follow). I hope this makes sense because, if not, back to the Advil (in lieu of the sad-to-say-illegal heroin).
I love your original screen name. Derbig and I have debated whether I should come up with another screen name as well, but the best I could muster was Timothy2. He then fired me as his familiar, so I went along my Kung Fu way. Good thing I'm a Shaolin at heart.
I just read your "victimful crime" passages and wanted to thank you for posting them.
