This Guy,

Steele, who does he think he's fooling? He wept about as many tears for Kennedy as he did for my mother when she died. But we get such gems as

We all understand and appreciate the role Sen. Kennedy has played in this debate and the passion he brought to health care.

Heh, yeah, like he and his fellow Rightests "appreciate" the role Kennedy played in health reform or anything else.

I'll tell you, were I a flunky like Steele and measured my self-respect in microns, I'd just keep my mouth shut on this kind of thing--and spout off, as liars are wont to do, on matters of greater import (like--Joe Wilson's an idiot but of what sort? Fish or fowl? Animal or mineral? Or does that even matter when my party's succumbed to utter idiocy?).

Oh, My,

House Minority Leader John Boehner said the outburst -- while inappropriate -- showed the "amount of emotion that people are feeling" over what the GOP incessantly describes as a government takeover of healthcare. "And so Americans are frustrated," Boehner told reporters. "They're angry. And most importantly, they're scared to death that the country that they grew up in is not going to be the country that their kids and grandkids grew up in."

And to think some 70% of the population disagrees with this chain-smoking, tanning-saloned excuse of a human!

And Cantor, gee, I wonder who pays for his dental care? I know one thing--the American public is just terrified that they might have the opportunity for coverage of the sort guys like Boehner and Cantor have! Christ, we simply cannot have that! That's socialism!

Prenatal care prevents neonatal care.

This makes no sense. I mean, it's reasonable, decent, humane and, well, we simply cannot have that when these people are working the fields or factory floor. There's work to be done!

And did I mention it's my God-given duty to kick these people around right before I go to Bible study? (And, yes, I'm going to continue beat this religious dog because it deserves to be beaten)

I'm STILL waiting... For a response to the question posed here by a couple of other writers. If illegal immigrant labor is so horrible, why not fine the BUSINESS OWNERS who hire these folks illegally? The immigrants are not working for other illegals are they?

Be prepared to wait a LONG time. These guys are hypocrites and purveyors of a double-standard that is astonishing to behold. And never forget the religious element these liars put forth as some sort of bizarre defense of their immorality.

Example: "I'm a believer in my Lord Jesus Christ. I hire illegal immigrants to work for me and I joyously get to pay them a paltry sum and offer no benefits. I detest illegal immigrants who have the audacity to try to game the system--which I do daily, but then I'm a religious American who's belief is defined by, essentially, this: 'Whose ass can I kick today? What sort of brown person deserves a beating? I need to know before I go to church or watch the nearest moronic preacher pontificate about stuff of which he's completely ignorant, having attended a certified bible college and all."

--And squaresville,

Again, this isn't about anything other than a corporatocratic attempt to demolish the middle class.

Man, that battle's been lost already. There is no middle class any longer. There's the rich 1% and then there's the rest of us.

So, All the Usual Creeps

have appeared, I see. Guys like rockybalboa. I'll say it again, the same corporations that underwrite GOP political campaigns hungrily seek illegal workers because they can skirt such things as health coverage.

Why aren't you oh-so-religious-guys defending the rights of the downtrodden? Aren't you the ones who lecture the rest of us ceaselessly about family values? About God and country? Isn't that your big thing? Morals, God, Jesus, anti-gay/lesbian issues, and so on?

Yet at the first opportunity, you cannot wait to pour out your opprobrium on other humans who have the gall--the gall--to try to survive on this planet.

What pieces of work you all are--and a real credit to your religiosity.

Here's

what makes me laugh (although not of the amusing sort): GOPers rail against illegal immigrants regarding things like healthcare, even as their chief corporate supporters hire those same immigrants by the truckload--because they don't have to give them benefits like health insurance. Such benevolence.

Oh, and did I mention these are the spokespeople of, let's see, "family values," um, "God and family," and, oh, "God and country."

There--I think that's a good primer for utter hypocrisy.

Good Grief

"a realistic and sophisticated understanding of what each of the tools can offer" -- "sustainable" -- "effective" -- "nuanced, practical solutions" -- "shun the spirit of polarization and politicization that has come to plague detention policy from both ends of the political spectrum").

God, how I hate this bullshit. Anytime someone uses the word "tool," you can bet they mean "hammer." And "nuanced"? That'll typically mean deceptive and/or dishonest. But in any case, what is it with these people and preventive detention? You'd think they never attended law school, never read the Bill of Rights. It is just mind-boggling.

Well, so much for my astounding daily insight into matters American.

Jerks

like Wilson and the half-witted and Blackberry-thumbing (but perfectly dentitioned) Cantor (in other words, the entire GOP) daily disgrace themselves. It's a wonder that they retain any support whatsoever.

Christ, if there's ever been a time for a new party, it's now--something adults can respond to, understand and comprehend.

Man, how did we fall so low? Just disgraceful and embarrassing. It'd be laughable were it not so sad.

As long as Carter can bless the election, tinhorns like Chavez and Ahmadinejad can be dictators-for-life without legitimacy.

Oh, okay.

Thank God your wrote something reasonable.

Listen, about that opening at the UN, well, it's no longer available. But I'll be sure to contact you at your Kinko's night shift whenever something pops up, you diplomat, you.
