Mr. Baldie

Timothy, I love you're wurk two but can you please tsop talking about the rule of law and talk more about what concerns americanms like the economy and Bill Ayers trust in the police. looser

Look, my be-night-ed "friend," the economy is what its all about. Nay say pass? You may insult me (go ahead!) all you want, but the workers in Detroit are sure to be unhappy! (and by that I mean, not happy). These unionistic anti-Americans are about to feel the truth if what I am sayin' :) (Happy Palin! Next President of the United States--minus Alaska). And what is that? Well, friend, its simply that the "son of man" (for those who read they're Bible, and if you don't. well, its two late anyway) isn't who you think it is. No, the SON OF PERDITION (okay, Barack) will lead you down willowy paths which end--dare I put it?--in perdition!!!!

Don't take my word for it, friend (and I say this elastically): you may well have your anti-(you now), but there are those of us--YES--who will avoid this pit and be translated (and I don't mean one of your newfangled languages, like Greek).

Mr. McEagle

Nay say pass? That must be Greek!

Yes, thats Greek friend (or, as we say at my college, the tongue of the pagan unlearned!)

But still, it goes without saying that you're Barack(!!!) is unfit for office! Sure, he was "elected," but whats that mean in eternity?! Right! Nothing!

I'm glad to have you come around, friend.

Theres mcuh work to be done!

Finally, one of the most mystifying -- and creepiest -- things is how so many alleged adults, when they talk about politics, now talk about how badly they want "to be kept safe." It always sounds to me like a five-year-old who wakes up with a bad nightmare and crawls into their parents' bed and pleads: "Please keep my safe."

This is a dissertation in the making. It's peculiar, it's creepy and it's mystifying why people think this way. As PDA said a few nights ago, (paraphrasing), "By Zeus' beard! Who told you you'd ever be safe in this world?!"

I Hear You Mona,

Ok, what's a girl gotta do to make it into your troll competition? And I warn you: I gave up the black fishnets in my 20s because they do bite badly into my lily-white, Irish skin.

except for the girl part.

Mr. Bird Of Pray

snoid. Ah, that makes more sense. I need to pay more attention.

See? (I think NOT).

The Bible, friend.

Friday, November 21, 2008 03:07 PM

P.S.

that, Mr. Baldie, means "Past Sensorium," according to my language teacher (and she's renownked, even though she's a daughter of Eve). Learn to be ascertaining (sorry for the bad-spelled word), friend.

P. S.

What is this "Troll of the Day"?

I thought Augustine, Aquinas and those other "Catholics" had ended this time of conflict? Perhaps not. It is the time of Palin and those other GOP people (what is GOP? It must mean God Over People, I beleive)--who fight for justice and decency. I can see/here/reid that others here are tired of this. So be it. I, too, am tired of there righteousness. Salonistas! Hypocrates!

Oh, Wait!

lol, lol, lol!

Have I got that right?

Friday, November 21, 2008 03:34 PM

Baldie

I am beginning to think, sir, that you are a complete fool.

You are right, sir. Although my mother referred to me as "ninny". And that was on the best of days.

mr snoid

Timothy, my dear comrade, please take a cue from an old hand. I, too, usually have nothing of substance to say. But I try to limit my sweet nothings to a couple posts a week, max.

It's a real struggle. I try, really, to limit my nonsense but usually fail. Nevertheless, your advice is worthy. I'll do my utmost to follow it.

GoodCelery!

The day comes when bleak darkness seems to prevail. Go into the night. Then brightest, a light will embrace.

That's lovely.

OT, to be Sure

but it's a good quote (from David Sirota):

This is the usual post-election nonsense from the Braindead Megaphone, as author George Saunders famously calls our political and media noise machine. When George W. Bush wins by 3 million votes, the megaphone blares announcements about a conservative mandate that Democrats must respect. When Obama wins by twice as much, the same megaphone roars about Democrats having no mandate to do anything other than appease conservatives.

Ah, what a center-right nation we have.

GoodCelery!

"I'm sixty-eight" he said, "I first bucked hat when I was seventeen. I thought that day, I started, I sure would hate to do this all my life. And dammit, that's just what I've gone and done." -Gary Snyder.

That is fine.

Lord, GC!, you are (no joking) a bard beyond all bards. Even when not creating the line (Shelly, Wordswoth, Blake, et. al.,), you find its application.

thanks for that Nation link. I was particularly pleased he wrote of the need to end the prison industrial complex. Who was it that said (paraphrasing) you'll know a people by their prison system?

RMP

Long before the degrading excesses of Abu Ghraib and Guantánamo, these police "interrogators" tried to forcibly extract "information" that Williams could not provide. Ultimately, he had to be rushed by ambulance from the motel to the county hospital for emergency care.

I've often thought that the justifiable moral response to what we're doing abroad has served to obscure what's happening here at home. I don't suggest a conflation. These are actually two sides of the same coin.

Thanks for the link.

ondelette

Granted that they do so on behalf of Republican issues frequently (the "I think Americans don't want progressive..." meme

You might take a look (if you haven't already) at the dust being kicked up over Sirota's column . Many there are going to some lengths to say how center (centre, if you're Canadian) right we are.

Sounds nice, but most pertinently, that idea is not mainstream.

Sorry? Not clear here.
