omooex

I spent two years in a place where similar people got away with murder and worse. My perceptions will always be colored by that. I dance a jig when they get theirs. I'll never be able to hide it. If you think that's shocking, you should see what I wrote when Ariel Sharon went into a coma.

No, I don't think that's shocking. You can tell, of course, that I've never been in a similar situation. I have no such experience. I cannot comment on that (how dare I? Why would I? I would not.).

It is a miserable world. I will do what I can to make it less so.

I've been called worse. Interestingly, I was recruited for the diplomatic corps while in graduate school, but I knew it wasn't the place for me. I tell it like it is, try not to take things personally or make things personal, and don't like playing games (except when fishnets are involved).

I don't believe it ("I've been called worse"). This I believe: I tell it like it is .... and don't like playing games (except when fishnets are involved).

You know, you're a woman after my own heart (and I say that as a guy who's hearty).

I don't have an answer to this, but : ... they caustically and condescendingly tore down anyone whom they disagreed with, with a special fondness for liberals and progressives, whom they viewed as self-deluded phonies who hadn't been sufficiently enlightened as to the one true path.

Good grief. I've experienced similar responses here and elsewhere and have refused to respond to such bullying. Perhaps I am a self-deluded phony but, if I am, would I know it?

and I say that as a guy who's hearty.

But I'm thinfully shapeful! I weigh, at best, 145 pounds (and that's on a very slim 5'11" frame).

And please, I'm not trying to creep you out!

Oh, also, I'm handsome.

Jacksonian

Sounding tired and resigned, he noted this has been the longest case of his 32-year career. And it's not over yet.

Thank you for this personal anecdote. I hope it will be over sooner rather than later.

Seems to me that Glenn is correct in that we can only judge actions by the president elect and not the fears of others. (like me)

Nevertheless, fear is healthy (I always say).

That's fascinating to me. There is, I agree, a creepiness to the whole approach that is quite unsettling. I don't pretend to understand it but agree that, At the fringes, both sides have their self-righteous crazies who Must Not Be Questioned. Which always makes me chuckle whenever a wingnut refers to an Obama or Kos as a radical far-left fringe liberal. Hardly. Not even close. They're Federalist Society material in comparison.

You know, whenever I have the misfortune of seeing the likes of Bill O'Reilly or Hannity, both of whom rail on about DailyKos as the epitome of the far left radicals among us, I laugh. And just for the reason you state. There is a radical leftist world out there that is far less permeable than the likes of these will ever know.

Man,

In an e-mail he wrote to Justice Department employees, Mukasey said "All tests at the hospital have come back with good results, and I feel fine." The attorney general, NBC reports, "had a clear MRI and normal CT scan, and doctors have ruled out a mini-stroke or TIA."

I wish I had health insurance.

One sector that never goes down is healthcare.

Man, I wish I had health insurance.

But I'll take your advice and get a job in the public sector.

I Shall Smite Thee Down With Righteous Vengeance and Furious....

Excellent. You can't go wrong with a Pulp Fiction reference. Movies: the Bible of our time.

Two cannibals are eating a lawyer. One asks the other, "Is this legal?"

I passed this along to a relative and she said, "Boo."

I think that was an ixnay on the joke-ay.

Glenn,

my friend (and I say this losely), Jeff is merely saying that justice is NOT colorblind! Can you not (can't you) see that? I think you do. Left/right/central. Regard for human law is NOT dependent on you're artificial understanding of what RIGHT is! Friend, there comes a time in everyones life (Americans) when we have to decide: can WE live this way? I say YES. But only if we share an understanding of what legality is. This is what Jeffery Harrison was eluding too (in my opinion)>

Jeffrey P. Harrison/umbrage

Could you please give some understanding as to how you determined the "left/right instead of central" implication of GG's article?

I'd be really interested in hearing that, too.

Baldie

But does she like your Tombstone references?

Believe it or not, she said to me "enough with that. What are you, an idiot?"

Well, sir, I said by way of retort, "I'm your huckleberry."

And she did not laugh.

Friday, November 21, 2008 10:54 AM

Glenn,

I forgot to add, I love you're work! You are allright in my book, sir! And I'm not ashamed to admit it! Are you, Baldie?

Tin Foil Hats

Sorry, I thought I heard my name being called.

The answer is quite simple. Liberals are Ameriphobes. Oh yes, you hate your country but either don't know it or, more likely, will not admit it.

See, this is brilliant.

Where to begin? Perhaps e=mc (squared).

Jebbie, it's time to declare a winner.

Agree with that. I'm thinking ehillesum, (unless, of course, it's me, due to cleverness--no! I won't allow gainsaying in whatever form!).

being poor in the US means drinking Folgers while you are surfing the net while being poor in many parts of the world means you eat a bit of grain each day; and on and on and on.

Good lord! I think you've turned into Andrew Leonard!
