Talking about Weezy like they're at the museum or the zoo.

Statistically Phil is 0 and forever when he looses game one. Look it up.

  • Better yet, it's a good time to buy one.

Big vehicles are selling for 40-45% discounts in some places. Which is more than the difference in fuel over 5 years for what most people drive. So the overall cost of ownership over that period vs. a small car is not so bad. After 5 years it's nearly worthless anyway, or it will be. So its value differential vs a small car is still pretty close.

The people who are hosed are the people who are upside down NOW in a loan in a nearly new big vehicle, assuming you're not self employed and you can't write down the value of a vehicle over 6,000 lbs up to $24,000 which is the law today.

  • I need clarification

[Read the article: Amazon.com for prostitutes]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

Does this empower you or is it a manifestation of evil capitalist globalism?

  • We have the same thing here

[Read the article: Bareheaded in the park]

    We call them zoos.

You're the tools who swear we're going to bomb Iran 5 years ago. The only people actually using Iran as a political weapon are the Salons of the world.

Factoid: did you know that the guy who created the anti Goldwater ad with the atomic bomb that is so famous died yesterday or the day before. It should be a day of mourning here. I mean as far you're concerned, in Bizarro World, Goldwater won, we really did nuke the earth, and all of us are living on Cattlecar Galactica right now.

  • He's just bitter

[Read the article: A "September 10th mindset"]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

He remembers that on 9-10 the legacy of the Bush presidency was that most of America was convinced that NYC was a denizen of queers, drug addicts, communists, welfare bitches, Jews, the homeless, effete liberals and blacks.

(not that those are bad things, mind you)

Mind you in terms of how most of America thinks of New York, the best thing to happen to NYC in a hundred years was 911. That's really what Rudy wants to bring back.

    FDNY hats for everyone!!!

  • One unintended side effect

[Read the article: The motor home fades into the sunset]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

Is that people are using all sorts of modes of transportation that were never intended for public streets. Like ATVs and tractors. We've had a few fatalities recently from people doing damn fool things like that. Now it is summer so you expect a nominal number of drunk bubbas doing stupid shit like that, but this year is somewhat worse.

  • Drilling for oil takes too long

[Read the article: Gas prices and offshore drilling ]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

But starting from scratch not only an entire industrial technology for non oil power but an entire infrastructure to create it, then distribute it, and do it affordably....will of course NOT take too long.

    Do I have that right?

Will it be free too? And will a talking unicorn fly down on a rainbow to be Obama's Vice President?

  • So you're saying we should only cover people who don't need it?

[Read the article: Healthcare needs you]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

As a group, the largest consumers of health care dollars are women of child bearing age. Cutting them out of the system for their 'life style choices' seems reasonable to me. Moreover, on a patient by patient basis most health care is consumed in the last year or last stages of life, which of course being the last year of life, always ends in death. We should cut them out too.

  • We could eat the poor, or burn them for fuel

[Read the article: The bogus baby bust nightmare]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

Why let nature take its own slow course when we could prod it along, a little. Nobody said saving the polar bears was going to be easy.

  • Why even cover the less than perfect anyhow?

[Read the article: Healthcare needs you]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

Do whatever you like with your life but if you don't follow the approved perfect model you will be denied healthcare of all kinds so as not to be a permanent burden on the Master Race. I would also advocate forced genetic testing to weed out the genetic undesirables; those with markers for cancers, neuromuscular diseases, addiction, retardation and other deformities. In fact let's criminalize all socially irresponsible behavior and put those weaklings in camps where they can work for the benefit of the greater good.

  • I'm 50 and I like Weezy

[Read the article: Can Lil Wayne save hip-hop? ]

Like anything else you can't listen to it 24/7 but it's pretty good.

  • So Salon asserts that all state actors are perfectly rational

[Read the article: McCain on Iran: Bush all over again]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

North Korea, rational. (self induced famine killed 2 million)

Iran, rational. (sent 1 million children to their death)

Zimbabwe, rational. (destroyed their own country)

    US, irrational.

    Gotchya.

  • Everything Obama does is divine and perfect

[Read the article: Obama opts out of public funding]

As opposed to the evil that is everyone else.

  • Awesome

  • I for one am glad that violence in Nigeria has cut production 25%

[Read the article: The insignificance of offshore drilling]

Oil is evil and the less we have of it, the better. Infinite free instant solar rainbows will save us.

  • I see nothing wrong

[Read the article: Save the animals, exploit the women]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

With executing people for crimes against animals but not for crimes against people. People are the disease.

  • Just send Iran our hippies

[Read the article: McCain on Iran: Bush all over again]

    They'll crumble in days.

  • Obama is beyond money

[Read the article: McCain counsel disputes Obama camp's account]

He merely thinks and it's beamed directly to your head like the voice of God. Knuckle punch, yo.

Gross # is misleading. There are 6 sub parameters. BTW OTC Zocor is coming soon. Generic Lipitor is coming in 2010.

  • And lest you forget

[Read the article: Healthcare needs you]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

That universal health care, single payor systems, or whatever you wish to call it, does not imply it's free, effortless and unlimited access either.

  • I'm not sure the point about 'finally'

[Read the article: How low can American drivers go?]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

80 cents a gallon isn't going to signal the end of the world. BUT when gas is $7/gal sure, there will be cops at every gas station rationing it out at gunpoint. But my neighbors have a lot more guns than the cops, so good luck with that.

  • Cmon how come you're not outraged at the gays who were left out

[Read the article: A new take on the octopussy]

    This is Salon for Obamasakes!

  • Dear Salon readers

[Read the article: McCain on Iran: Bush all over again]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

One and only one officially sanctioned point of view will be tolerated. Hey, at least we can say we're tolerant of something.

  • Just in time for our second property tax increase this year.

[Read the article: How low can American drivers go?]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

Lucky us. I would have preferred if they just went on a ticket writing fury like they did after Katrina, to pay for the budget gap in fuel at the end of 2006. Now after a 75% increase in January they want another 16% next month.

I think the social contract between the government and the governed is officially broken. They look on us as checking accounts and/or criminals.

  • Salon editors seem willfully disconnected from reality

[Read the article: The insignificance of offshore drilling]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

There are lots of households that are actually hurting. All of those problems have long been chronicled right here. Yet one polar bear is worth the lives of all of them, I guess.

Face facts, it's the hotel and resort owners who pressured state governments in Florida and the Gulf Coast states to ban offshore drilling. They're the people who didn't want ugly oil platforms.
