Why is he so rich?

How can this evil fool make so much money when we, the super-educated liberal elite have to struggle just to keep up with each other's children's schools, apartments, vacation spots? It's not fair, I tell ya! We're so much smarter than this guy. Makes me miss the 60s.

A theory on why Camille is so disliked here

Could it be because she is obviously smarter and more learned than the typical wannabe member of the liberal elite that this site attracts, and because she doesn't follow their party line? Just askin'.

Gore a good writer? Bosh!

I think Gore is worthy of great commendation for his tireless work on behalf of the environment, but it's absurd to claim he's a good writer. And he's never been an interesting, as opposed to instrumental, speaker. But I wish Gore would be more visible, like he was when his movie came out a few years ago.

irony escapes the writer

Does the writer of this piece realize that the "next" John Brown is more likely a tea bagger than a liberal? Get it?

Small beer

Small beer to placate the angry masses. Basically manipulation of The People. Still, if it makes you feel better, be my guest.

I like it

I like when President Obama trains his fire on the media. Makes me feel good.

Glenn starting to implode

Glenn, OK, hate the US policy, hate israel policy, but why linkage...short of a topic this time? Hate hate hate....nothing re the other wonderful countries of the world....guess you feel it would be a waste of time to criticize them....but Israel/Us might succumb to the anger you induce in your many fans, put hydraulic pressure on the great O to go after Bushies and israelites...Glenn, time for your Fall break...recharge the anger batteries.

Sign up for the war you like

We had years of lefties mocking Bush wars by telling the folks to join the military and get their butts shot off if they supported the wars. Now some of the same lefties want us to get shot to help Afghani women. Hoo hah! And what about the way women are treated in Africa, say? Can you imagine getting killed because lefties are weeping over women's rights? Note: this is not a Hallowe'en prank.

Greenwald distorts, mischaracterizes, mistates ruling

A gland at GG makes it seem like the court immunized defendants from suit, whereas all they said was it's up to Congress, not judges, to decide whether there should be a claim prosecutable in these circumstances. No biggie. Congress can enact such a claim if Pelosi and company wish to. GG's headline should've been A court decision that reflects separation powers in our beloved country. Glenn, a lawyer, would've been practically held in contempt if he presented his reading of the case to a judge.

@rrheard

Yo, you a lawyer? I make more $ then you, so have less time to post here. Anyway, you turning the 2d Circuit into a den of reactionary nazis? Wow....didn't know things were that bad on that bench, of Learned Hand, Augustus Hand, Charles Clark...but you know them, you an out of work lawyer have plenty of time to check out the history of that honorable court.

Wednesday, November 4, 2009 08:24 AM

Second circuit didn't say it was legal

They just said there is no civil suit for damages, something which could be changed (not for this case, of course) overnight by the DEMOCRATIC Congress. Thank you very much.

Wednesday, November 4, 2009 08:27 AM

Not only that, but...

that same DEMOCRATIC Congress could award compensation to this guy, a la the awards to Americans of Japanese descent who were interned in California during WW II. And where is the president on this? Out there asking for spare change?

When does Glen admit he was wrong?

When Iran "agreed" to the latest Obama fantasy re shipping uranium to Russia or wherever it was, Glenn enthused that negotiations with Iran work. Or course most adults who follow the news didn't trust Iran, but Glen does and scolded us doubters, you know, the crazed right-wingers. Now that it's clear even the Obama administration doesn't believe Iran was being sincere (NY Times,Nov. 9, first Int'l page), it's time for Glen to 'fess up that he knows constitutional law but is naive, a babe in the woods, when it comes to negotations with rogue states.

Tuesday, November 17, 2009 12:02 PM

Israel should trust Glenn...

...rather than the Pentagon. Israel should not take Iran's threats against it seriously...Glenn doesn't. Wish Glenn was in charge of US security as well as Israel's.

Holder's Respect for the Federal Civilian Courts

Holder has great respect for our civilian court system, and he will show the world it can handle even KSM. And if the court somehow acquits KSM, Holder will not let him go, in disregard of the court's judgment. That's what I call respect for the judicial system. At least Bush put everybody in military commissions (if they were tried at all) -- which is less arbitrary than Holder's picking and choosing between different trial systems.

Thursday, November 19, 2009 08:40 AM

Who Holder did NOT consult with

@bobthercarpenter

Holder and Obama would have us believe Obama had no input into this decision, as if where to trial the 9/11 plotters does not have national security implications worthy of a president's decision or even input. I believe Obama did approve this, or even make the decision without Holder's opinion mattering to him, and that Holder and Obama are liars, and the deal is if this trial blows up and makes the U.S. the world's laughingstock Obama will say "sorry, I had nothing to do with it, it was my independent attorney general who made the call." That is Obama, and Holder is not even worthy of contempt.
