  • a spanking, but no evil

[Read the article: Bush nominee broke law]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

Sounds like he could certainly use a spanking for his carelessness or indifference, but the facts add up to a guy who would not be influenced by his holdings....sometimes he recused, sometimes not, sometimes in the middle. These cases normally don't affect enough money to be bothersome unless it's Judge Soros or Judge Gates. That he doesn't want to be grilled on the phone by Salon is understandable....who needs that? Hope a) he gets confirmed and b) the story leads to all fed courts adopting a good computer system.

  • 400 or 500 executions a year?

[Read the article: America's unlikely defender]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

I like this guy for all the obvious reasons, but people might believe there are 400 or 500 executions in the US a year, instead of what, 30 or so? And does he believe the figure or was the figure a figure of speech? Not a good way for an "intellectual" (what is that, somebody who reads the Times?) to speak.

  • Women vs. Women

[Read the article: Feminism after Friedan]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

Sounds like feminism consists of a lot of women telling a lot of women how to live, under penalty of being drummed out of the movement. Like the Taliban to a lesser degree. Glad I'm not a woman.

  • Not such a hard case

[Read the article: Thugs for puppies]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

The author thinks that the case is pretty weak, due to lack of substantive crimes as opposed to "talking" crimes like conspiracy. I've got news for you all: this isn't the 60s or 70s when liberal judges held sway and it was difficult to convict (or get a conviction affirmed) for thin soup like this. That's all over. These mf's will be found guilty and their convictions will be affirmed. Meanwhile, I can't wait until the sentencing.

  • Leftist Contradictions: Multi-culturalism vs. Freedom of Speech

[Read the article: Rotten judgment in the state of Denmark]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

It's time to prove once and for all that the lefties with their shibboleths about diversity and multi-culturalism are totally full of crap and don't have a response to a real problem that has led to about a dozen deaths so far and who knows what to come. These feel-goodies have always felt the right to criticize other "cultures" when they choose, trying to ban through the UN female circumcision, e.g. I say sure, ban it, but drop your pretense about cultural autonomy, for chrissake. Of course we haven't heard from lefties on the cartoon-prophet controversy, because their contradictory premises cannot produce a coherent response. Maybe this is the beginning of the end of these irritating bores who want us to approve of any and all bs in the world, Allah willing.

  • Confirms the Growing Belief that Hillary is Unelectable to the WHI

[Read the article: Coretta and Hillary, not yet free]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

This piece confirms I belief that's been growing personally and in the blogosphere, i.e., that Hillary cannot be elected president. The nation will simply not choose another long term of years with this soap opera-ish family of semi-hysterical hillbillys. Do we want to get up every day to check what 'Ol Tom Cat's up to, and how it might impact on the conduct of Affairs of State by that sickeningly self-pitying "wronged wife", one of the most calculating women (or men) in history? Do we want to go through an extensive training period to adjust to her moods, her double talk, her flip-flopping, her endless treatment of her public as kindergartners (it takes a village). I've never respected the left more than in the last six months as its disillusionment with Ms. Clinton has grown and become public.

  • No post-9/11 attacks: why?

[Read the article: Patriot Act games]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

Jim writes We’re ignoring important issues while we shadowbox with... gasp... the chimera of terrorism

Well Jim, one possibility is that terrorism is a chimera, and another possibility is that our intrusive gov't is actually preventing terrorism. Nobody outside the gov't can tell about this, but should Osama get a nuke, could you please forward your address so I can pass it on to him? Thanks Jim, you should be in charge of national security, you schmuck!

  • So What if Publication Causes Deaths? Hey, We're Terrific!

[Read the article: Why we're publishing the new Abu Ghraib photos]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

I'll sleep better than you tonight, because I don't have to consider how many deaths I may have caused with this "journalistic coup". Yeah, your adherence to the reporting creed will certainly make the world a better place, both immediately, in the medium and in the long terms. Now that the Muslims will be reminded of this scandal, Peace on Earth is sure to follow.

What is the point here? Abu Ghirab was exposed long ago and whatever measures the powers that be wanted to take to ameliorate the situation have been taken. So what are you accomplishing now? Not being liberal, I have problem getting blood on my hands in service of THE TRUTH.

  • Reminiscent of the Senior Senator from the Commonwealth of Massachusetts

[Read the article: Shoot first, avoid questions later]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

Yes, Teddy, me boy, pulled much worse, and with a death he caused, in fact, and went on to become a Great Liberal and Champion of the Little Guy, so there's much to be hoped for from the Veep. And that snide reference to a $7bil oil tax break...was that not pursuant to a Clinton-signed statute about 10 years ago. (Sorry for being a pest; Clinton actually was a great prez, as "Match Me" Sidney will attest at the drop of a butt.

  • Brazilian Lover gave he bladder infection

[Read the article: Lost and found]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

Yeah, it's true, if you f.. your brains off (normally with a new lover, not your ltr partner), you can get a bladder infection. That zen wisdom is more than worth the price of this book.

  • Boreback Mountain

[Read the article: Introducing the Guilties!]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

Haven't seen it, but sources I trust based on years of experience told me it's a crashing bore. I guess I'm not gonna take my medicine, even though the film is supposed to be good for me. "Why gays are just like people too, except they suffer more because of a Heartless Society!" Liberals deserve what they get from arts/entertainment, sez I.
