Read some letters here, and it wouldn't be surprising to find that every one puts you down, poor LW. So I'll do my good deed for the day.
Look, many of us have been fools for love and did things that even years later make us red inside with embarassment. So you did yours, and I'll lay a compliment on you: flying unheralded to Asia was a biggie, much more spectacular than knocking drunkenly on her apartment door at 3:00 A.M. OK, you did it, and here's the solid I'll do for you: you're free now. You won't ever do anything like that, even on a much smaller scale, again. You learned from a mistake, which is what you're supposed to do. (You're not supposed to go through life without making mistakes).
You're cool now. And as someone who's been terminated by "irreplaceable" women, let me tell you, each succeeding one has been better than the last, impossible as I would've thought it. That's what's great about women: they'll almost all great. Be glad you're a man and can enjoy the best that life has to offer: women.
One line smacked me in the kisser like a wet pickle: the bit about politicians who support lib causes like pro-choice and vote for the interests of the rich. What did that remind me of? How conservatives in blue collar districts supposedly stay in office by being anti-choice, even as they vote to support the interests of the rich.
Looks like the rich have figured out liberals can be just as hypocritical about their material interests as conservatives who pretend to represent Joe the Plumber.
The write thinks Obama's little homily at the end about everybody doing their easily affordable share will somehow get traction. If that were likely, then there'd be no need for tax reform to begin with....taxes would've been fair all along. It's not like the country hasn't heard for years, if it's willing to listen, how the distribution of wealth and tax burden is set up in the U.S. I really see no cause for optimism, especially when people can be diverted for days over that kerfuffle with the modest, self-effacing Prof. Gates, the smartest man there is.
Read this piece and concluded we're not longer just in recession, the depression is here. Please don't tell me she got paid for this piece of crap. She's the type who thought Fear of Flying (or would've thought is she read it when it was published) was a real "break through" -- women like to fuck! Stop the presses! Men are good guys! Holy smokes!
P.S. I don't want to be her friend....I feel confined when categorized.
(remember from the 60s: "I am a human being, do not fold, spindle, or mutilate". Well, that's corny crap too, but a apropos here for this woman who thinks she discovered half of humanity)
And what's this about kicking someone's ass for her? Actual violence or crank phone calls?
Joan writes Rove's version of racism strategy drove the GOP into the ditch. Then how and why is the strategy used successfully? This article makes no sense, but sense is not a requirement when the libs whine "racism!"
....those on the left who have bush and cheney at the controls of the 9/11 planes. Oops, sorry, only righties can be nutcases.
it's obvious: as obama goes down, the amount of liberal attention to the super-conservative sideshow goes up. It's called distraction, folks.
...a girl shaking her ass? What is this, Iran? Teenagers are into sex and being sexy. Get over it.
This is silly. While I was wondering what law Glenn had in mind I read his update which said apparently it's all legal. Wo he was criticizing conservatives for being inconsistent. Glenn now writes columns that say "I know what you are, but what am I?" What ever happened to substance now that the Dems are running things?
....try to tell other people what they should or shouldn't enjoy. We need more of that. Maybe it'll be part of ObamaCare (TM). A close second is people who think that nobody likes to play at being humiliated. These and other feminine geniuses are giving us yet another wave of feminism.
What's the idea here? I thought it was to pass a good health care plan. The intermediate goal is to sway public opinion. Many cannot be swayed, so the target audience should be those who are persuadable. So, does Barney Frank's withering sarcasm sway those people? that's the question to me, and I have some doubts that those caught in the middle will choose the congressman over the citizen when it comes to a food fight. Would love to see a good poll on this. P.S.: to make it clear, those who are in the reform camp already are not the target audience.
You get your ideas on life from movies? You're in big trouble, my friend.
homeruk says: And yes, this community organiser,
Community organiser? Obama couldn't organise a bowling league.
The discrimination provision of California employment law is not a barrier, because it could be amended to provide an exception for the people discussed in the article. Laws can be repealed or amended.
I can hardly keep conscious after reading that we threatened terrorists with killing their children. At least they don't just threaten -- they actually do it. It is horrible that we are trying to protect ourselves by making threats not carried out. This is worse than nazism. I hope the prez gives another speech in Arabia apologizing for all this. We've got to play nice with these people, or they'll keep attacking us.
