Independant voters

Michelle Obama entire quote said that they all would work for the party. She has a right to say she would think about her vote, just as anyone would be expected to do so. It is not that if Obama is not nominated we will take our ball and go home, its that many of us are only considering voting for the Democratic ticket if he is the nominee. When over 50% of the electorate says we will never return the Clintons to the White House, we mean it. Many are practicing very selective memories of the 90s. Clinton (or I guess we are supposed to the "the Clintons" ignored Rwanda, stepped into the Balkans only after one side already brutalized the other,

bombed an aspirin factory, did not capture Osama Bin Laden when he had the chance, fired the entire White House travel staff, and proved himself to be a serial harrasser of subordinate employees. Of course, back then Sen. Clinton "loathed the military." I see no reason to return them to the White House. The implications that the Kennedys are anti-women is rediculous. If Democrats really want to win, they better wake up.

Great night

Why do people keep writing that the Kennedys and Oprah are big losers. No one thought an endorsement was a magic wand. The endorsements did exactly what they were meant to do. Clinton was ahead in California by 30 points and would've had a huge pot of delegates. That didn't happen. Everyone predicted that with the number of people who already voted, Sen Obama's surge probably would not be enough to win but enough to split the delegates. That theory was very successful. Sen Clinton thought she would lockup the nomination last night. She sure didn't. Sen Obama had a great night. There are many state still to vote.

If Democrats really want to win, they need to understand that Independents and Republicans will not vote for Sen Clinton. It can't be said often enough. I don't know what you think you accomplish by winning the battle and losing the war.

facts?

It is amazing how many facts seem to be made up as people write to these threads. Many of you have written as though Clinton received some sort of huge victory. She did not. She receive 20 more delegates. It doesn't matter that she carried the big states. In total popular vote, she received 49% and he received 48%. Not at all the victory the Clintons had intended. Be careful what you wish for,Clinton will not pull Independents and Republicans in November. When over 50% of the country say they will never vote to return the Clintons to the White House, they really mean it.

No Way

You are kidding yourself if you think it ended last night in California. California is important, but not that important

How mean!

I am surprised how mean the writers can be even when someone is bowing out. Even if you don't agree, you could give someone credit for their pain being heartfelt. I guess we only feel some people's pain. Tolerance is tolerance for all -not just people you agree with.

Is she kidding?

This from the woman that's so tough she can take on the Republican attack machine, terrorists and the bogey man all at once? How ridiculous. Chelsea is not a child. If she is out on the stump, she has to be able to take it, too

My Dream Ticket

Why an old white guy? VP could be an old or young anyone. Barack Obama and Dianne Feinstein.....no 49% negatives going into the election

Conflict?

I don't see these as conflicting statements. The super delegates reflect the good of the party if they reflect the will of the people.

cool

So, Hillary is going to fill my tank, buy my groceries and pay my bills. Cool. I thought I was supposed to do that.

I can't imagine........

As a woman also almost 50, I have not seen the sexism in this campaign that Joan and others often complain about. All the other candidates received "hits" from the pundits. A man that lost 11 in a row in February would be expected to bow out. I believe Sen. Clinton was given a lot of leeway because she is a woman. I heard someone complain last night that she was called "Hillary" but the other candidates were not called "Barack" and "John". But, it was her campaign that called her Hillary on all her campaign materials. After a while, it seemed we were supposed to vote for her to be leader of the nation because we felt sorry for her. Are they kidding? If you can't stand the heat get out of the campaign. I can't imagine Maggie Thatcher, Indira Gandhi, Golda Meir, Mary Robinson, Mary McAlease, etc. complaining about sexism. They didn't see themselves as victims but as leaders. They also achieved their positions on their own - not due to their husband's previous job. And soon, we will have a president who is a woman who climbed the ladder herself. Many young women I have spoken with hated the idea of the first woman president riding her husband's coattails to the office.

Decide

The McCain campaign seems unable to decide if they want to call Obama a flip flopper or so stubborn he won't change his mind. They change their argument daily. Plus, the morality, or lack there of, of the Iraq war has nothing to do with how well it is going any particular day. That is like saying it's OK for you to steal you neighbor's big screen as long as you get away with it.
