Since polls materialize with their absurd statements embedded in the questions, Joan et al must debate back. The only positive for Americans is that they will actually learn or at least hear what has occurred over the last 19 years re: how criminals from anywhere are treated under our justice system. The journalists and owners of the media have been following salacious stories instead of bringing us all the news.
Now, TV and print bring us an extremist radio-show host's foment, the whereabouts of Sarah Palin and the potential line-up of Republican candidates for President!
I would like mass media to find out and report how our Treasury was high-jacked by Bush/Cheney/Paulsen and how, now, still, is transferring the wealth to the richest among them by Geithner/Summers/Obama: I am way more afraid of that than Gitmo prisoners coming into the US. And really pissed.
He calls the reason for pain anywhere, when no other cause is apparent, "tension myositis". His clinic in NYC treats people, without drugs.
Howard Stern swears(sic) by him for helping relieve his chronic back pain. Howard has been in therapy for years and is wound tightly, feeling everything with intensity. He grew up feeling self-conscious...
John Stossel. the ABC "Gimme a Break" guy, had severe back pain for years. He went through Sarno's treatment and now sings his praises, which is not his usual calling card.
There is another book, "Undoing Perpetual Stress" (sorry, can't remember the MD author's name), which outlines the effects of chronic stress on the entire body and goes into great detail about how to un-do the damage and that it takes a long time.
There are still too many MDs who ignore the total body of their patients, concentrating on everything below the chin. A patient whose pain is unacknowledged will doctor-shop for that alone...to find someone who listens and takes into account the power of the mind. Difficult to do in a 15-minute office/clinic visit in these HMO times.
:The Missing Connection Between Depression, Anxiety and 21st Century Illness" is by Richard O'Connor.
Cinderella! Wasn't it a love story when he got married? Didn't he know about soul-mates then?
SC needs to dump him, right after his wife does. Argentina should look into the crystal ball and see when her number will be up.
What a jerk.
now 89, will be tried for his role in WWII Nazi concentration camp torturing.
How does NPR characterize THIS story? (A story that is still in the news 60 years after the fact.)
Let's hope we don't have to wait that long for the trials/punishments of recent torturers and their ilk.
the secret illegal use of our government for their personal perversions and monetary gains. Do you think they will investigate when they finally figure out that the Wallstreet crisis was an outright theft of our treasury?
The thing is, Americans now know that our Treasury had/has way more money than we knew about when we were told it was "too expensive" to provide affordable health care for all of us.
We also can see that the middle class and our votes are expendable to the new administration. After all, who engineered the demise of the American auto industry (besides the speculated-driven price of oil)? Union-bashing/Bankruptcy vs. Wallstreet Bonuses and Total Bailout(with no demand to lend to said middle class)...which is worse? Which impacts you more? Which threatens your way of life more?
Finally, which can you do something about?
It is MEDIA Apathy,i.e. Control of News-ee-worthi-ness, which moves the masses or not.
So, Joan, I do agree with previous posters that this story should be the front page focus for several info and opinion pieces on this topic alone.
Palinesque junk should be last or Salon could refer people to The Alaska Times for info. Use YOUR Control of Newsetc. power. Please.
do we get rid of the CIA? Aren't they the "intelligence" we pay for and never benefit from? (9/11 f'ing boxcutters and watch lists, where in the world is OBL? just to name a few choice AND missed "national security" issues.
Reduce their budget, early retire the status-quo, phase it out. Do the same with the FBI. Then START OVER with a new paradigm: ONE agency. WITH a CRACKERJACK computer system. The agents could do the job at home in their PJs.
Erase. Brainstorm. Find a new way. Ask a successful manager. Bill Gates? Steve Jobs? Oprah? Warren Buffet? Rachel Maddow? Michael Jordan? Amy Goodman? Susan Sarandon? Sean Penn?
How about all of them? The brain power alone beats the entire US Congress, right?
The CIA is broken and obsolete. Dump the CIA.
It is his job to REPORT on what DOES happen when people break the law, are investigated, are charged and are tried. Ala John Wayne Gacy. Ala Richard Cheney. Ala Karl Rove. (and their middle names, too).
The Chucks of the MSM do not hear themselves. They do not hear the American people. Unless it is by accident, as when they converged on New Orleans during Hurricane Katrina and found the horrible reality (still)of Bush Administration (sic) policies they gloss over now.
Break the law? There will be consequences. That is what we teach our kids. THAT is what the MSM's "position" on this rule of law and Americanism ought to reflect through their objective reporting!
Chuck: Stop talking on Morning Blow. Start Reporting what is.
because why?
'tis a sad day.
some descriptions by those tortured of their torturers as "not in a military uniform" or wearing clothing with a name on it (logo).
Big Probably they will remain immune. Just as their organization's fees were not budgeted by Bush, and therefore not approved by Congress. But paid in full,by us.
Any defendant's lawyer could subpoena Bush, Cheney, Yoo, Addington...or find personnel willing to go into Witness Protection for telling the truth...
