Piling-on is worse than being called shrill. If you really are new to expressing yourself on a blog, the banter between the regulars can be distracting.
However, checking out the journos you cited or linking to some recommended info can add to your blogging.
There is no right or wrong opinion here and we all have the freedom of speech. I may not agree with or understand your opinion, but tell it! (With some room for listening to GG readers and, if responding, doing so without put-downs.)
One tour in Iraq or Afghanistan is probably enough to yield PTSD. 4 or 5 tours? That's a recipe for certain death.
The top shrink says that only 9% are related to PTSD and 70% are due to relationship or family problems. Wonder which one came first?? She knows that Axis I diagnosis is the primary one. PTSD is primary; relationship/family problems is not a diagnosis, it is an effect of a diagnosis.
4 and 5 deployments also damage the families at home.
Are we to believe that the Army/Pentagon is this obtuse and stupid?
Is the altitude a factor? (Just searching here) Our tax dollars support these bases and this pretty lame health care? Isn't it dangerous for the "normal" troops to have below-average and mentally-ill soldiers amongst them in combat? Or in the mess hall?
The picture was taken by a "friend" or a party-goer who then sold the shot to the tabs.
Phelps's judgement about attending said party with unknowns was unfortunate.
See SNL's "Really???" segment about this story and the misplaced outrage.
If they got away with it, so can I.
Wall Street gamblers got that message. So did bankers who sold air (derivatives) several times over. Mortgage lenders broke all the rules. Blackwater killed and cost a lot (their services were not on the public books). Halliburton and most all of the no-bid contractors in Iraq stole millions from our Treasury, enabled by Congress, and did not even complete their work or did such a bad job that it killed people! (ex: Electrocution of our soldiers in on-base showers.) Saddam had a better rep for infrastructure services than KBR! (which represented the USA)(or should I say Dick Cheney's character?)
Hey, I don't like the father-figure role of the Presidency, but it has always had that power over people.
The father-figure and his friends should have been impeached years ago because crimes, not sex, were committed against our democracy. They should be indicted now because "the whole world (has been affected and) is watching".
The truth has been out there, it need not be commissioned...Hey Dad, are you gonna do something, to show me how to be? Or are you going to feel the power of the office and blow us all off?
I just emailed him (@Mayor's Office City of Lansing) to say Thanks for a passionate presentation and keep on speaking out.
Be a Shrill for Main Street Americans.
How many ways can she say the same thing and make a ton of money? I realize the right-wing think tanks buy her books by the case which makes it appear she is a top-seller. Is there any evolution in her writing or subject matter?
She may as well write diet books or "get organized" books:how many ways can you say the same thing? How many converts does each new one yield?
At least with murder-mysteries and harlequin romance books, the characters and their actions are different each time...witness the Alphabet Series about PI Kinsey Milhone by Sue Grafton.
I just think Coulter is stuck on Pander Planet and, unless she has a near-death experience, will continue to atrophy in visage and words.
Now that was a good movie.
So was Slumdog, which wasn't Bollywood until the last scene. This film should be required for every 10th grade Social Studies curriculum. The pure life-force and survival instincts of the Three Musketeers, the life they lived to even reach adulthood...we can all relate and we ache to root for the Slumdog.
I enjoyed Hugh Jackman and the 5 idea. I thought there should have been a special Oscar for Heath Ledger and the loss of him, but the still alive actors deserved to win.
I don't live in the boons, but some of these movies were not "wide" right away and I think that affects the nominations somehow. Why do we have to wait to see these films when they have been reviewed months before we get to even choose to go see it?
Benjamin Button? I didn't even see it because I'd seen that kind of story before. I want to be moved and enlightened by the movies or why go to the theater? Revolutionary Road, The Wrestler, The Reader, SDM, Gran T, Rachel GM all at least an 8.
I don't think Wall-E should have had to compete with "real" movies. Animation/Pixar is a whole 'nother scene.
And Sean Penn's got some s'plaining to do for not mentioning Robin Wright Penn as a support for him! Talk about Dead Man Walking...
to reassure the criminals that he's not going to pursue them. And then he will. He DOES pair the forward thing with the no one is above the law thing. That's to reassure US!
I hate chess.
revising Bush legacy at the "Roundtable" with Katrina Van den Heuval...she hammered him but should have called him a criminal and walked off the set...he even stated that the Federal Govt. did everything it was "supposed to" re: Hurricane Katrina, it was the "state governments that failed"!
When you allow a criminal to sit at your table and speak lies, you are lost. That he gets more MSM airtime than GG is appalling. He should be the first in jail for being in contempt of Congress. Most Americans know what the consequence is for ignoring a subpoena is. It would be a start.
And we can all be bodyguards for each other.
