Joan! Tell lame-o Chris you will not ever be on with Armey again! He, like many of his ilk, can

only think of you as a sex object..."Would I do you?"...(He automatically thinks as he pretends to listen to your well-stated point of view)...He is obviously so used to blow-up dolls that can't talk, that you are dismissed as marriage material for him! Like that is some ultimate goal for you or any woman...And Rush's constant recitation of the "bend over and grab the ankles" imagery is gross and just too much information about his own sex-life preferences. Just sayin'...

Oh, and he put Hillary down in public, in a similar fashion many years ago. She shut him up and you did, too. Bravo!

When the Clintons have a job to do, they are hard at work, captains of many potential Titanics. Reagan was an actor and knew his lines...

and the people swooned. His private sex life was known and ignored (the big Divorce) and so was Bush 41's. And FDR's and JFK's.

Probably many more Presidents led with their testosterone levels. It's basic biology, not tamed by the rule of law or religion or societal "norms". Bush 43's sex life was not illuminated, but his other primal characteristics were constantly on display: swagger, taunting/provoking enemies for a fight, put-downs, anger, declaring war and thoroughly enjoying his authorization of torture.

We can hope to observe that Obama and Clinton have more-evolved brains than others before them and that their continuing efforts will nullify 8 years of the neanderthalling of our Democracy.

Original article: Thanks, Tom Daschle

It was disappointingly hard to watch President Obama say "I screwed up"

to the world today, on day 15. Geez Louise, Bush never acknowledged a mistake until the last 30 days of his 8th year and even then it wasn't he, but "we" who prematurely put up the "Mission Accomplished" banner.I certainly do not want Obama to emulate Bush, but the GOP and the press will eat him alive if he doesn't stop talking like this!

Daschle was a weak choice to start, as Glenn Greenwald outlined. He also, like Harry Reid, had a weak speaking voice. He was not ever a strong Senate Majority Leader. It appears that his connections to the healthcare insurance industry would have been the only advantage to his confirmation and that would not have benefited most of us.

Maybe Dr. Howard Dean will (finally) get the nod. Now there's a guy who knows the field and has a history of getting the job done.

"There ought to be a law"

I. Public servants no longer serving in Congress must move back to their home states for 2 years.

II. They are barred for life from doing any work, volunteer or otherwise, for any entity or persons with a scintilla of an "appearance of a conflict of interest" related to the US Government.

III. This also applies to immediate family members.

I wonder what kind of person would run for these seats if the reward system was simply the personal satisfaction gained from "doing work that makes a difference" to my constituents and for my country...?

The polls are going down because Americans are seeing

continued obfuscation by Republicans and no NO to them by Democrats! Obama needs to shut their yaps (there is finally some backtalk about how the $10 Billion/month in Iraq was fine by the same whiner-yappers).

Mitch McConnell using Jesus's birthdate to illustrate how much the stimulus program will cost is smug-clubbing with the religelous right: STFU about religion when governing! He barely won re-election 2 months ago!

Is the ghost of Bush/Cheney punking the White House?

This statement thanking the British government doesn't smell right.

The past week's Obama-work has been very confusing and off-message. It feels like we are being "gas-lighted" (Flicker Flicker...Did you see that lamp flicker? No, it did not flicker, you are imagining it...). On the same day Cheney gets another chance(thanks, Politico)to stoke the terror fears there is news of the White House essentially bullying a court of law in the UK?

Who's running this show?

@londonlad

Gas-lighting not gas-lightening. It's a psy-ops technique.

And racism is racism. But you already know that. Don't bloodyhell drag my words into your klandestiny opinions.

Meanwhile, Ariel Sharon remains in a coma

being kept alive for going on 4 years now. What "effect" does he have on this process? Is he ever talked about in the Israeli papers or government?

Stop giving this guy any

attention! The Amish have a good solution: Shunning. This is certainly an acceptable response to this creep.

And why is this guy getting more attention than our present-day war criminals? We don't need no Ca-ah-Missions...We don't need no thought control...The evidence is in full view! For shame on us if another country beats us to indictments!

This was his first news conference at the WH and it was obvious he was trying to

get his bearings with names and faces and maybe start committing same to memory. Which he should be very good at.

It's a learning style.

Not even close to the same thing as the Bush/Fleischer MOs: MSM tools on A-list list OR fake, planted journalist Gannon OR propaganda disinformation by partisan retired military OR relegating Helen Thomas to the back row because she asks real questions!

David Brooks needs to go on a long sabbatical and become the newly borned Charles Kuralt:

He needs to feel our anger and see how government without money-grubbing lobbyists could serve our country. Salon/GG should start a travel fund for him: David Brooks Sees and Hears America~

yeah, that's the ticket! And by car or truck, no planes...sort of a Blue Highway itinerary.

Then, when he has been educated about his peeps, we send him to Gitmo, Iraq, Afghanistan: bing Bang BOOM.

Then he can write an essay on what the quid pro quo has been for at least 8 years and why Americans are looking to the naivete and determination of Obama to stop and reverse the Beltway mentality to one that represents US!He needs to be sure to Compare and Contrast reality and illusion using at least 3 examples from each region he visits...

Seriously, I believe Nicholas Kristof started a fund for Bill 0'Reilly to go to Darfur a few years ago. The response was big.

I think many people would love to see Brooks's eyes bug-out in surprise and watch a Conservative Bush-apologist (hopefully) transmogrify into...a truthy opinion-maker. Can't hurt, might help.

"Shrill" is, to females, code for

smart bitch. Just sayin'. It's probably one of Dick Armey's favorites.
