Um MAD TV is funnier?
[Read the article: Tina Fey: "Bitch is the new black"]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]Ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha
I've tried watching it recently, groaners all the way. The only thing ever funny about that show was the guy who acts like a kid who says no all the time.
Mrs. Swan, not funny. Impersonations, not funny. Sorry if I don't know anything newer, but I can't stand it for longer than 5 minutes.
Personally I loved the PMS skit, I laughed my ass off, I guess you may not be a woman. I found it way more funny than my husband did.
I thought this comeback was a lot funnier than recent stuff, the digital short with the Hi Grandpa, don't look this is scary! was good. The What's that Bitch talking about was not funny though and making fun of Donald Trump is getting old, though I hope we get to see more of the woman who makes fun of Rachel Ray. Though I did like the Rock of Love skit and the opener of We In the Media LOVE Obama was very good.
People every decade say SNL is like so over, you know what's over, saying SNL is so over every single time it doesn't make you crack up for an hour.
Being funny week after week is HARD, you stumble, you fall and sometimes you hit something that the public loves and then they use it over and over, why, because being funny week after week all the time is HARD. Much more difficult than writing some formulaic Law & Order or CSI or House.

Stop going to Cheers' maybe?
[Read the article: I somehow became the "Charlie" girl at the local bar!]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]Well LW, in regards to the problem of people getting all huffy about how much time you spend with them, just stop going to that bar for a few weeks or months. Ask your gal pal to go out to dinner, go to movies, a show or something else for a while. Try looking at Meetup.com and see if there is some other group on Friday nights to hang out with. Or just develop a tougher skin and allow the haters to hate and just ignore them.
Also just learn that being popular means there is always a downside. Nearly everyone likes you, then they get upset if you forgot to say hi, or some other bullshit.
Plus ignore the people saying that you are some person with the need to be worshipped, it's crap and they just don't understand that when a person is popular is very rarely through any particular effort of their own. It's just you're nice and friendly and can converse well, so people like you and want to hang out with you. I myself am similar to you, never really had a problem making friends or being popular because people always came to me, I was always the passive party. Still to this day, people who I can't recall at all know who I am, knew things about me who weren't even in my social circle. People from other high schools knew things about me, it's just the nature of six degrees and being popular. People find you interesting and you don't really know why.
Then too the haters, she goes for a Friday night girls night out with her friend. There is nothing wrong with a parent taking a night off to spend time with other adults doing adult things. The marriages with kids that I've seen work are the ones where each parent gets a day or night free of child care, especially in this day where parents genrally can't send the kid out in the morning and then not see them again until dinner time. Her husband is perfectly capable of putting the kids to bed and making them breakfast in the morning and as long as he gets a night out with his friends why is it an issue? It wouldn't be any different than if she traveled for work. Why should she make the children the center of her universe, those mothers are always miserable when the kids hit their teen years, then move out and don't want to spend time with their parents and then she's left with no habits of her own for an adult lifestyle and she can't center her whole world around her husband either.
And berating her for purchasing expensive bras, oh wow one luxury she gives herself while all her other clothes are sale stuff from Wal-Mart, I'm assuming that anon doesn't have breasts.
I think a parent who has a night to herself is just fine and wow, 30 miles away a whole 30 or 40 minute drive, what a monster. I'm sure she spends plenty of other time with her kids and since she had her first kid when she was in her 20's, they are probably not babies, toddlers or kids under 10 who certainly don't need their mommy all the time and if her husband doesn't mind her night away from home, I don't see why any of you should.
So LW just take this message board into account, there are always haters who will look to pick on anything and tell you how dare you because you dare say you are thin and popular.
