Islam is fascism
[Read the article: My girlfriend's daughter is dressing like a stripper for Halloween!]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]I think you may be mistaken.
When men catcall, wolf whistle, follow you around, touch you to get your attention, it's not fun, it's not empowering. When some guy gives you something for free because you are pretty, it's not power, it's pathetic and makes me think oh what a sad little man, you are going to hand your paychecks over to some bitch one day. Nor will I be treated like a whore, goods in exchange for services.
Many men have tried to use ugly as an insult, whether you are or aren't. Many women think their beauty is the only asset they have because there are plenty of men who act as if a woman's looks are all that matter. Many women also perpetuate this calling you fat when you aren't because they are insecure, why would he go out with you, you aren't cute.
I know one guy who's dating a gorgeous girl, he does nothing but complain about her ball busting nature. She won't let him do X, Y & Z, he can't hang out with his friends as often, only a few select friends are invited to their apartment, we've seen her bitchy controlling nature in action. Not one of us likes her. We ask well why not find someone new, uh cause she's hot man!
One word on the clothing, I personally used tight little outfits to my advantage, getting the wolves out of my face. Yes, when you are hitting on me solely because you want to see what the rest of me looks like naked, you get dropped in the hell no not in a million years bin. Why, because you deserve it. I've never dated a player, a user, an asshole that treated me like crap. I never went through the oft mentioned "bad boy" phase. Why? Because I seperated the wolves out simply by my attire. The guys I dated, they were the ones who didn't come sniffing around, panting after me, looking me up and down and being like hey baby, how you doin'. The ones I dated were the ones who could look me in the face, who could at least constrain themselves enough to pretend they weren't out just to try to screw me. Who would talk and listen to me instead of strategizing the quickest way into my pants.
Many men claim that women use sex as a weapon against them, none of the men I was with would that game ever have worked on. Because what was going on in their pants was not their first concern. If all you(not necessarily you, but some men, like Howard Stern) think of women as is a tool for your gratification, then a woman can use sex as a weapon, she can lead you around by your penis. I have no use for men who can be wrapped around a woman's finger cause she's pretty, plus I know a man that is concerned primarily about a woman's looks, is going to be the guy who cheats or abandon's his family because of spider veins, wrinkles and stretch marks. I never want to be one of those sad pathetic orange county women and NY socialites who put themselves under the knife because they think they are competing with younger fitter women to keep their husband. Well honey, maybe you shouldn't have married a man who only gave a shit about your looks in the first place.
As for the Halloween costume, well it seems to be the same refrain. Looks like a slut, she's asking for it. Men are gonna get all horny for her, how dare she! There are myriad reasons a young woman wears a revealing costume instead of blood and gore and I figure if it's just one night a year they are wearing that costume and they are old enough to drive a car, I really don't care and you shouldn't either.

I read the article
[Read the article: Women at work and other stylistic concerns]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]It does not belong in the Style section. Only one paragraph was in regards to wardrobe, perceptions of a low cut blouse on an executive and secretary. Secratary no problem, executive looked down on.
Most of the article was just about how women have a hard time no matter which way they act. Expressing anger is pretty much not allowed, while also finding women are poor negotiators when compared to men.
This is business news, this is news men should be aware of too, especially if they are in a hiring or management positions. They should be made aware of biases they may not even know they have.
It's just like hey ladies, lookee here, you're screwed, because most men do not read the style section. It's like putting a perception of men in the workplace news story in the sports section.
