You have a point cinge
[Read the article: Catholic Charities' birth control battle]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]But I think the way it works is that you can be as religious as you want as long as it causes no harm. Such as if you have a religious tenent that says you can beat your children to get them to obey, but the state has child protection laws, your right to beat your kid in service to tradional religious practice is trumped. If you want to sacrafice an animal, you have to follow public health rules. I think it is the same case with birth control, denying it causes harm so your doctrine will be overridden when you are using secular businesses. If the religious want to be free from all things secular, well they can live like the Amish. I think it's also the same principle with how the Federal laws will trump a State law whenever there is a disagreement, such as CA passing a medical marijuana law and the Federal government saying, nope, no you can't, pot is illegal!!!!!! Here have a beer!

I'm sure Shazzer
[Read the article: Knicks lose in court of law, too]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]That a team exec for the New York Nicks at Madison Square Garden, that those jobs are just a dime a dozen. Being a minorty woman working with many other minorities in a high profile job, yeah, those are so easily come by.
If you're working in a career where there are plenty of positions out there in your field than sure, I could see that might be better than putting up with harrasment, but since I know some people that would love love love to work in any position for sports teams, went to college for sports management, those jobs are very difficult to find as they haven't found one in the past 8 years with a professional team, just college sports so far.
Why should someone have to give up their hard won job in a great city in a great venue simply cause some jackass won't leave her alone, keeps calling her bitch and then trying to hug her and tells her he loves her, if what she says is true. It's a classic abusive situation and since it's not her husband but a lucrative job, why should she, the victim, be the one to leave?
Plus, if the signal is sent, hey be a jerk, everyone else just keeps getting new jobs, what happens when you keep getting driven out by jerks? The jerks win, what kind of mentality is that?

Nah, I'd leave it the way it is
[Read the article: How scalpers hoard "Hannah Montana" tickets]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]While scalpers suck, I don't agree with the idea that Ticketmaster should just raise their prices to scalper level, because the scalpers will always charge more, until demand meets supply anyway. Plus scalpers never get all of the tickets, so there are plenty of people who are able to pay face value for an event who wouldn't be able to afford 200 dollar concert tickets.
It's just one of those greedy unfair practices that will always be around because lots of people like making money doing nearly nothing and there is really no way to stop them, plus why should I a fan have to be a gossip freak or research everything about the band or singer to be able to buy tickets, I should be able to see any show I want if I can afford tickets, not because I know what the lead singers name is or when it's their birthday.

Oooh I like the will call idea!
[Read the article: How scalpers hoard "Hannah Montana" tickets]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]Perhaps more venues should try doing that I could see that thwarting many a scalper. Though it does kind of suck for those that pre-purchased their tickets and something comes up so they can't go and then they can't transfer their tickets to a friend or just get rid of them on stub hub, craigslist, ect.
But it probably wouldn't work for season ticket holders to sporting events. I have friends and family that have season tickets to football or baseball and they simply can't go to every single game each season. So I think it's their right to sell their tickets to people who can go, though usually they are lucky just to get face value, especially if the team isn't doing well that year or the team that is coming no one cares about.
