Tom Friedman: Another Gung-ho Follower of Senator Lieberman.
[Read the article: The Tom Friedman of 2002 has not gone anywhere]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]The problem with Tom Friedman and his ilk is they have unlimitted access to the news media in this country. How can anyone write that after visiting a Victoria's Secret factory in Sri Lanka he believed it was such a good place to work "that I would not object if my own daughters worked there." Yeah, right!! Are they working there or in an Ivy League college?
As a veteran what has surprised me for many years is the success of people who never served in our armed forces bellowing gung-ho bellicosity without our mainstream news media questioning their resume.

Bravo Australia!!
[Read the article: Good riddance to John Howard ]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]It took the terrorist bombing of a train in Madrid to awaken the Spanish people that this crime was linked to Prime Minister Azara's support for Bush and his war and they evicted him soon after in the election. Few Americans to this very day link Washington's foreign policy in the Mideast to why we were attacked on 9-11. Perhaps the bombing of hotel in Indonesia which killed hundreds of Australian tourists made their voters aware of Howard's poodle, lapdog foreign policy supporting this neocon war.steve USN WW2

The One Word None Dare To Say: ARMAGEDDON.
[Read the article: With the numbers in, Biden and Dodd are out]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]We should not be surprised to see Hillary descending considering her ambiguous position on the one issue that has finally galvanized most of this country: The Neocon War in Iraq. She apologized for having voted for the war against Iraq when Bush started it and then amazingly voted to essentially support another of his delusions: a war with Iran. After viewing a qualified psychotic, Rev. Hagee, recently and listening to him expound on the joys of a final war he is eagerly awaiting which will catapult him and his ilk into heaven I wonder why this issue is not more openly reported by our mainstream media? Hagee's frequent trips to Israel where he dumps a million dollars on each visit is overlooked even when people like Senator Lieberman speak to Hagee's followers.

Ron Paul's Main Contribution
[Read the article: The Manchester of the South?]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]Ron Paul'S main contribution which will forever place him in the footnotes of any history book written about this perpetual, unwinnable war that the Bush administration and their Neocon "advisors" (read "controllers") have entangled us is he awakened our country that we were not attacked on 9-11 for anything other than our insane Mideast foreign policies.

Unwinnable Wars Oceans Too Far
[Read the article: Sorry, Mac, but Iraq is back, too]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]McCain is one of the most unusual war veterans who love wars I have viewed since an Iron Cross veteran of World War One. His visit to Vietnam in which he was reported to be still calling their native "Gooks" is indicative of his lack of morality and common sense. That small nation never attacked us here in our homeland despite suffering two or three million dead killed by the expeditionary force we sent there. Even Mr. Bush mentioned this comparing it to Al Qaida which did on 9-11. No nation that has endured our aggression mounted against them have retaliated until bin Laden. He had the advantage of not being a nation state being vulnerable to such a reaction as a legitimate nation would be held responsible. McCain has promised he would not permit us to lose this war this administration started at the behest of the Neocons. He should be questioned about how he intends to defeat a globally dispersed gang of religious zealots which could possibly draw upon one-sixth of the world's population to oppose us even for the hundred years he claims he is willing to stay in Iraq. These foreign wars which we have started in recent years are oceans too far from our shores to be won. King George discovered this to his sorrow over two hundred years ago.

Mr. Bush: The World's Leading Terrorists "R" US.
[Read the article: The coddled "terrorists" of South Florida]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]By coincidence today Mr. Bush proclaimed "Iran is the world leading nation sponsoring terrorism." Since he has very little knowlege of history he can be excused for not knowing it was the CIA's first "success" when they overthrew the demoratically elected government in Iran in 1953 restoring the corrupt Shah to power. This done at the behest of British Petroleum who had lost their lucrative monopoly on Iran's petrol industry when the new government nationalize it. After the Shah was overthown the U.S. lost its best arms purchasing customer and has never ceased to put pressure on their government since. In a previous provacation similar to what is currently happening the USS Vincennes shot down an Iranian civilian airliner killing all 200 aboard. Though this incident was called and "an accident" the Iranians felt otherwise when the ship's captain and crew were awarded medals for their role in this "accident." It is erroneous to describe those Cubans living here as "exiles" since many came here, and are still coming, for economic reasons. Unending demonstrations in Miami have not dislodged Castro from power any more than demonstrations here influenced changes in the USSR or its sattelites. What proved to be most embarrassing for the Cuban economic immigrants was when the small boy's father chose to return him to Cuba rather that be swayed by trips to Disney World and expensive toys for the lad.
