Unspoken Rules

It seems to be an unspoken rule that Repubs can play hard ball, but Dems can't.

Can and can't might not be the right words.....

Maybe it's more like "are expected to," and "mustn't."

Why else can the Repubs sling away, and have carte blanche at it?

It's as if McCain is expected to act like a schoolyard bully; if the dems hit back, McCain becomes like Beaver's friend Wally:

"Well geepers Mrs FOX News, I didn't expect Obama to knock over Then, if Obama screams "uncle!" he's either the whussy, or he's "hitting below the belt."

Then there's the permissibility of McCain to use all of Obama's angles, "change" etc.
