I was a 2004 county coordinator for Obama. Barack spent his time in the Illinois Senate "reaching across the aisle". It worked well in Illinois, but the GOP that sits across the aisle in Washington isn't interested in compromises. I thought Illinois was sending Barack Obama to play in "Mr. Smith Goes to Washington II". Well, Jimmy Stewart was an actor who read a script. Barack's "script" says, "I will not filibuster anything." I have been doing the following as a visual aid for my conservative friends. You're welcome to try it, too. On a piece of white paper print the pronoun "ME" in large letters and show it. I then say something like, "Is this what you are all about?" Then I turn the paper upside down, hand it to them and say, "Now hold it up to the LIGHT. What's it say now?" This works very well with Christians. Jesus is the Light & the Way for them. So, which pronoun describes your life?
