on the Mukasey statement. Back when I first read it , I had to reread it a few times , and (mentally) slap myself , just to be sure it was real, and not a brain hiccup, or some Colbertish parody. Geez! How does anybody say that, or listen to it, or report it, with a straight face?
Re the Glenn/ondelette discussion , I share Glenn's queasiness about universal jurisdiction. Perhaps this, if widely shared , could be used to persuade the reluctant. If we don't shoot our own horses(or parts thererof;), somebody else will, with worse side effects . The specter of global economic boycott of US goods, exclusion, or even arrest, of American officials from/in other countries, massive protests, and other manifestions of anger, in response to our refusal to prosecute might be enough to convince a critical mass. Might even get a few 22%ers to go along if they knew Pelosi et al would be included.
I eagerly await Rivkin and Casey's Part II editorial follow-up investigating the partisan prosecution of former Alabama Governor Don Seigelman.Should be a beut.

holohoax ? I suppose all the survivors tattoed the numbers on their own arms , just for kicks ? Yeah, some Israelis invoke the memory of that excessively, and selectively, to make dubious argument , but that dubiousness doen't negate history and reality.
I'm stunned...

Don't worry, dear , you'll get over it . :)
If you want really stunning hatefulness & imbecility , you'll have to go elsewhere . Suggest Mrs Malkin's place, or Pammykins'(Atlas Shrugs), NR0, Clown Hall, Renew America, Wingnut Daily, or the congressional GOP's blog . Only the finer trolls come here .
The "HOLY LAND" would survive a lot better, and have fewer holes....

Pedinska , I'm having a little trouble with the thong-twisting thing. Any suggestions? Perhaps something from the Cocktailhag Collection?
azathoth, what would Israel get for actual peace? Of course, the hate won't go away overnight, but it would subside eventually. Consider, for example, the change in attitude of the majority of Iranians, towards the US, over the last 25+ years, as what might be possible. It's gotten progressively more positive , as a larger and larger % of the population has no direct experience of living under our client, the Shah, and time softens the memory of others. Even something like our(US) current relationship with Iran would be better than what Israel has now with the Palestinians. Worth a try.
bb, without even arguing substantive value, Mr. & Mrs Mooser are more entertaining. Work on your own schtick, then we'll reconsider .
Derbig, I've had the same thought , re R-o-R , when either side starts into the We're-the-perpetual-victim bit. For various reasons, most of the people coming here had, in effect, no right of return, but it seems to have worked out reasonably well. (for us)
"...obie is likely to take the muslim side of many issues because of his muslim upbringing. Israel is now likely to go it alone against 1.5 billion muslims worldwide..."
rocky, Israel's now fighting India, Pakistan,Malaysia,Indonesia, et al? Sheez, why didn't anybody tell me this before now. No wonder they need so much help. That explains everything.
Is it possible that the Constitution he so despises will protect him ? Officially, the only power he exercised was to break a few ties in the Senate. Other than the torture choreogaraphy during the principals meeting , legally speaking, did he actually do anything? That matter is a serious offense, but it'd be lot easier to beat the rap if it's the only thing up for consideration.
The Floor Room - It's a bit cluttered; everything's off the table .
The Terr-rist Room - Specially modified funhouse mirrors turn anyone that enters into an Islamofacist Maniac.
"Oh, Baby, I'll give you the clothes off my back.
You can have anything that I've got in my shack.
But if you ever try to leave,
They'll take you out in a sack!
Yes, Me and my Razor,
will see to that!"
Mrs. Mooser from Texas? ;)
(That's from That's the Way the Girls are in Texas by Ry Cooder)
Unfortunately the first Mrs Daschle wasn't.( I doubt a castrato could have made it to DC :)
of automated trollery .....(I swear, I didn't alter it :)
Mr. 242 must have recently made a huge withdrawal from the First National Bank of Lies. How else could he manage to tell us that our unalienable rights are merely privileges that he can dole out or retract? The few confused, shambolic thugs who deny this are not only wrong, they are willfully militant. In this case, one cannot help but recall that Mr. 242 seems to enjoy making unfounded statements and jumping to conclusions. Excuse me; that's not entirely correct. What I meant to say is that we must remove our chains and move towards the light. (In case you didn't understand that analogy, the chains symbolize Mr. 242's annoying, deluded reinterpretations of historic events and the light represents the goal of getting all of us to make him pay for his crimes against humanity.) To summarize my views: Telling the truth is too much trouble for coprophagous, fastidious buggers bent on getting their way.
As for the topic at hand , someone being vehemently attacked for being ...gasp!....even-handed, probably demonstrates better than anything, what a bizzarro-world we enter when discussing the Israel/US/M.E. relationships/policies.
