So, Obama has sold his soul to the evil Jewish liberal media

This, of course, is proven by the fact that he's a Muslin(sic) , who's repeatedly demonstrated that he hates Israel. :))))))))

3. obama good, McCain bad

7. make fun of Sarah Palin, ignore the hundreds of gaffs made by obama and biden

Hey! That's recent stuff , from your journalism profs. Did the paper have to send you back for some remedial lernnin'? That sucks. I have nightmares about stuff like that.

4. getting handouts is good, working for a living is bad

Except for Wingnut Welfare & no-bid contracts .

(Remember evberybody, : $100 = Welfare - baaaad! ;$1,000,000,000 = an Incentive - goooooddd!!!

6. believe a money-hungry irrational algore

Irrational algorithms? I always had trouble with anything beyond differential equations, so I'll have to take your word on it with that one.

ignore the thousands of rational scientists who have proven that man has nothing to do with the global warming problem

Oh, that one oil-sponsored Australian? Read the Aussie papers once in awhile. Although revered here, he's a joke down under, even in Murdochville . Inhoffe? Well he's clearly an unimpeachable source, so maybe a point in your favor.

< i>9. always make the extreme radical left-wing, simple-minded buffoons such as barney frank, nancy pelosi, harry reid, barbara boxer, chuck schumer, christorpher dodd and george soros look rational, even if it takes all day. cover-up all their gaffs. ignore their treasonous comments. ....

You forgot me(so I've been told) & the Dixie Chicks . I know George Soros is the only rich guy who spends money on politics , but try not to obsess so much. You'll live longer.

13. alcoholism is ok, being sober is foolish

With students like you....,that might be true. ;)

Better Labeling

might help, eventually.

" The problem is the pro-Israel establishment in the US, like Peretz. ......

[snip]

3. The Israel Lobby is now a strategic threat to not only the US, but also to Israel. It is time to continue to expose it and demand an "America first" press.

I am depressed and disgusted by our slavish suppport for Israel."

-- readysf

Don't mean to pick on you in particular readysf, just a handy example. Almost everyone, even critics, especially politicians and media do that.

Frequently, and consistently referring to it as the pro-Likud position, the Likud lobby , and to politicians pledging support for Likud , might help change the discussion. As Glenn has pointed out, those positions and policies are in the minority, by a sizeable margin, yet few realize it .

joefrank (& others), throwing up your hands, and giving up, because it's a 1000/1000's yr-old conflict, and hopeless, is not only wimpy , it's historically inaccurate. The friction started when European Jews started moving "back" to Palestine in the 1880's, and didn't get to be a large problem until the 1920's. It's not inevitable , or unsolvable.

Susan Wood

(...if you're still out there . Apologies if this has been covered, but I don't have time right now to read it all ;)

Why? Because of the electoral college, which gives disproportionate clout to states like Florida and New York.

Your point about Cuba policy is correct, but not so, the reaons why . Electoral votes = (# Sen.s + # Rep.s) , therefore the small population states have disproportionate representation. Wyoming has more clout per capita than anybody . Here in NY , we are subjected to the whole discussion every four years (at least!). It's not exactly fair, but I personally don't mind ; that's what it took to make the whole thing work.

The alternatives? Don't want to get into a full discussion of the Electoral College here , but look at what the relatively small Israeli settler movement did to the balance of power in Israeli politics , 20+ years ago,and everything resulting from that since . That is the sort of thing the Electoral Collage system was meant to prevent.

To others (forget who) , to reiterate a point from several, from the last thread : it's not a thousand(s) yr-old conflict/problem, and impossible and inevitable . These problems/ conflicts are 80+,60+,40+, and 20+ year old problems. It won't be easy, or quick , but they can be resolved . For a hopeful example, consider the change in the Iranian public's attitude toward the U.S. . All (!?) it took was for a generation to grow up not experiencing the Shah's repressive, US-backed regime.

Irony? Precedent?

On this story , as usual, and in the MSM manner that Glenn often critiques , AP left out something significant. Taylor is a US citizen, having been born here, before his father became president of Liberia. He was prosecuted under a law that makes torture committed outside of the US, by Americans, illegal . He could be (not necessarily was) propsecuted precisely because he is (legally) American .

Jeff S, (& others?) waterboarding, and other types of water torture (yes, there are several) is worse than you seem to imagine . Here's a detailed account of someone who did it to himself, thinking that it's not so bad . Read it, if you can stand it. or link at my sig.

@Call Up, r. lewis, re J.White

You apparently didn't quite absorb Jim White's last sentence , or his essential point.

"...Until then, we have to keep pushing, every day."

Jim agrees with you . If in doubt , read his other letters, and posts on Open Salon, & elsewhere .

http://humanityagainstcrimes.blogspot.com/ ( Pardon the blogwhoring, but it's pertinent :)

Jim is definitely not a part of the Let's-all-get-along-and-put-the-past-behind-us crowd.

-- The Satanic Jews of Hollywood

A good all-purpose post, applicable to just about any topic , so why not repeat it? Oh, wait.....

lol! Read "other letters" . Your arguments with Glenn might get more of a response if you post them on Glenn's blog! ;)
