But, with all due respect, that wasn't the argument you were making. Instead, you, in the manner of all professors (myself included), decided to indulge in pedantry out of pique, and argue that because you saw a few spelling errors and met one Obama supporter unfamiliar with caucusing, all Obama supporters are ignorant.

Okay, I will give you a point here. Perhaps part of it was "pedantry out of pique" at that moment. I'm willing to step back and consider that. I have been reading/correcting papers, so that might have biased me...

RE: Painting all Obama supporters as "ignorant" because of spelling errors and ONE caucus example: I have made similar points on Salon and elsewhere about grammar usage/spelling in pro-Clinton posts AND in posts that have nothing to do with either of the candidates. Perhaps it's small of me, but if students are expected to achieve in math and science, I also expect them to achieve in basic English.

I have to say, it sure is nice to see more reasoned back-and-forth about Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama!

Both of you make some emotional and rational arguments about supporting Hillary Clinton. I'm already in the Clinton camp, but your discourse is interesting, informative and adult (can't say I've always been "adult" in my discourse, recently, but you provide good models).

Are either of you familiar with Annenberg Center's Fact Check site?

I just received an email from them that lays out the differences between Obama's and Clinton's health care plans. Answers some questions I've been asked about the plans. In case you want to check it out:

Looks like Clinton's really gearing it up for March 4. Got an email from the Clinton campaign today counting down the number of calls and contacts they've made in Texas, Ohio and Wisconsin -- impressive! Our little Clinton '08 group in Washington State is gearing up to make calls from now until March 4 in those states. Apparently she's doing well in fundraising, too, dispelling any "rumors" that she's dead or dying.

Very funny! I can identify with several of these...

I especially liked the student's paper with a TMNT drawing and the prof's reply. LOL!!

  • Hillary Clinton 'Not Electable'?

For those who keep saying how "unelectable" is Hillary Clinton, dailykos says that in spite of Barack Obama's 'landslide' wins in the Potomac Primary, HRC still took 100,000 more votes in Virginia than John McCain and she beat all Republicans combined in Maryland.

Not bad. Not bad at all for somebody who "isn't electable."
