...In fact the worst assaults on Mrs. Clinton come from the left today; people who insist it's somehow bad that she sat on Walmart's board 30 years ago nudging them to be more progressive. People who parrot long-debunked scandals manufactured by the GOP. People who irrationally insist she, rather than Bush and the CIA, took us into Iraq. Whereas I would have hoped even the shrillest anti-Clintonite would have the decency to admit she's better versed in the issues than anyone on the stand.

Now I think we're getting to the heart of the matter. A lot of the far left, especially, is unforgiving of Hillary Clinton, mainly (but not solely) because of her Iraq vote.

I consider myself a slightly-left-of-center progressive who was very angry with Hillary for casting that vote, as I was about the Kyl-Leiberman Amendment. I'm also not into continuing to trash her for that, or for her Wal*Mart service, her work on the health care plan in 1993, and the whole "Bill: I did not have sexual relations with that young woman...". I believe that people can redeem themselves.

My personal experience in D.C. before, during and after this tumultuous period (putting together the FMLA and ADA, among other initiatives and policies) provided a real opportunity to see what Hillary Clinton was capable of accomplishing. Her work behind the scenes with many of the big players in civil, human, women's, and civil rights groups, as well as opening the appropriate doors to get this legislation moved AND passed was cheered by everyone who had spent long, hard years putting it together, trying to get it passed, and failing. I have great respect for that kind of ability. The 'left wing' of our party can demonize and trash Hillary Clinton because she's part of that system, but I challenge any one of them to show me that Barack Obama can accomplish any of his grand goals and visions without becoming part of and using that very same system -- and one that has, to date, benefitted him very well.

Thank you for putting this information out there! I have been doing the same thing for days/weeks, with what seems like very limited success. I cannot understand how people can simply take it on "faith" that what somebody (or some completely crackpot 'Net source) says is fact! Especially in this day and age with an abundance of factual information available.

I love to have a dialogue with people on the issues and on policy, but I'm getting older by the day and my patience gets stretched beyond reason when allegedly intelligent human beings are so intellectually lazy. It just blows my mind...

    Again, thanks!!

Hey there, Emerald City: West Sound here.

Our district was packed today, too. We had a lot of folks who had no idea what to do or what the process was. I'll tell you, a lot of them were pretty wide-eyed! And we had maybe a handful who came to caucus and also registered to vote.

I agree that caucuses are great for the old-style community politicing. It's kind of a step back in time, where you can slow down, actually meet and talk with your neighbors instead of just saying 'hi' on the way to or from work, and learn about the community and the people in it.

What I don't like about caucuses and one thing that has hurt Hillary Clinton in caucuses is that they favor younger and retired folks who tend not to have to work. There are probably cases of those who hold weekend jobs getting time off, but I think that's the exception.

My own experience today in re: above, is two women (service workers) who had to work and couldn't get time off to go, even though they wanted to caucus. I worked a little "mediation" between one of these women and her boss (quite a few years younger than she) and got time off for her to go...but, that's because I happened to be in the right place at the right time.

Uh, okay. Who, exactly, are you directing these comments to? I simply copied the graf with ONE point in it. This must be one of those cases of "shrill" and angry that 'somebodies' keep accusing Clinton supporters of engaging in!

Geez, you need to lighten up a little. Go get a Xanax...
