Mona

Well, I'm an older member of the "cabal" than LWM is, having participated at Glenn's old blog virtually since day 1. He is fundamentally dishonest and simply fixated on hijacking threads to attack any of Glenn's libertarian readers, and has always been so. For a very long time I ignored him.

...

But for me to continue engaging his obsession means perpetuating his thread hijackings, so I am really, really trying not to do that anymore. Suffice it to say, you cannot believe a great deal of what he or his sources say about libertarians, or about me and my beliefs.

You are not in the cabal; it is a select group of slime-ball slander artists and you do not fit in. I have been reading Glenn since long before he came to Salon and it is not just a matter of being an 'old regular' from UT.

I would like to point out that LWM is attacking you the person and not any argument that you make. Likewise he has no position of his own on any item of modern public policy; he must Google up even the most ordinary of issues to find some yahoo somewhere that he can quote.

You have (at least) three options:

You may just give up and let his ignorant hatred win in this case; but that is bad for the world at large and your personal karma.

You may get into a flame war on a personal basis as I did --- it shows the objective observers how loathsome the cabal is. Unfortunately, it is bad for Glenn's image to have these piss-fights going on day after day -- and it takes a full commitment. (most of the cabal seem to have a lot of free time, eh?)

Or, you may pull a Glenn G. on them with simple facts that make them look foolish, coupled with those wonderful questions he asks. (did you really need to ask that here, when 3 minutes with Google would have answered your inquiry?)

You will not ever get LWM to act or post rationally since he is mentally ill.
