  • Kitt the 1st Grade Reader (failed the grade)

Well, let's see here, Bucky. I read, "Johnny Cash sold albums to hippies. So What."

Yes, and then proceeded with the standard Kitt move of reading way more into the line than is there and then calling him a liar. I would cuss you a lot after that, as you know by now.

I'll tell you what I read; as you know I can not tell you what he meant as only he knows. (if it is a he) By the way, educated people often ask the other party, "did you really mean to say xxxx or not?" before launch a personal attack.

I read that Cash sold records to hippies (not in my crowd, we did not buy C&W) but I did not read that was his only market. I read that the fellow did not think the musical career of Cash was all that important to what he was saying about today's politics. As often times happens here; you want to pretend that your subjective view of societal events is the only interpretation --- and that you are right.

Well Kitt, you are often wrong and then you call others names when you see that they will not fall and worship at the mention of your fantasies.

...I never said a damned thing to you about your Ron Paul endorsement either. But you've chosen be shit on my shoe anyway.

After you joined the attack dogs and "welcomed me" that first weekend; you are just one of the cabal toadies to me. You threw the shit first; did you think I would just pretend it did not happen?

Should you ever want to just let it go; I will. I try to always treat others as they treat me. (golden rule, right?)

"I honestly wish you would shut the hell up, Bucky because you don't sense. It's painful to read what you write."

Because you are often wrong about your heroes? I became a Cash fan in the 80s and think he was great, but you could not give away his records in my high school in the late 60s. Sorry, it was not cool to have a country album.

But all that has nothing to do with the fact you have yet again lost your temper and are just hurling invective at your perceived enemies. Maybe, you are just hurling.

Not a chance. You've proven again and again what you're about. It was only moments ago that you made up a bunch of bullshit trying to defend some clown in reply to me. You've made your bed. I have no respect for you.

Thanks, that was funny. You really think you matter to anyone? Damn, dude that must be quality stuff you are on.

    :-)

  • re: I'm still confused about the black/gay thing

[Read the article: "Fringe liberal bloggers"]

So are blacks at fault for not insisting on gay rights in the 1960s? Or is it the gays who are at fault? Or perhaps the hippies, in a fog of smoke and sex, set back the cause of equal rights for all regardless of race, creed (or lack thereof), gender and sexual orientation by actually demanding equal rights for all regardless of race, creed (or lack thereof), gender and sexual orientation?

    I'm a bit confused.

In the 60s the idea of gay rights was just too far out to be part of the civil rights movement. The realists thought that winning civil rights for blacks first beat not winning civil rights for anyone.

In my high school (late 60s) a black won class president, but a 'queer' would get beaten up. This is sad, but the movement had to deal with the facts on the ground.

Then Fred farted, and Bucky1 was blown straight down the leg of his pants.

I wish you shit eaters would leave you sex fantasies out of these threads. I know that you NY guys are into that stuff, but keep it to your self.

  • even if it means Fred Thompson wins the presidency ....

That is a horrible comment! You have no idea how bad Thompson could be; he is the worst of Bush with the charisma of Reagan. He could be king. He must be stopped.

Next big step on the war wtih Iran, supported BY THE DEMS, and no one's talking about it on the blogs.

    http://www.antiwar.com/paul/?articleid=11171

If you read anti-war.com on a regular basis, you know that Democrats and Republicans (the parties, that is) alike are pro-war. One has to support the party that 'appears' to give the best chance for peace on election day. Today, that looks like the Democrats but I hold out no real hope that the Democrats will bring all the troops home.

  • re: Before we move on to the next potentially hijacked thread

[Read the article: "Fringe liberal bloggers"]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

...Please, please don't let the next thread be as unremittingly lacking in perspicacity as this one was.

The thread was 'hijacked' by the local cabal attacking a guy/gal over his first post. Rather that just say they did not agree in a pleasant manner; there was the normal character assassination that goes on each day here. The fellow hit back; something that does not always happen. Since he answer each post (or most) that led to many, many posts and a whole lot of cussing, slime, and personal attacks by all concerned.

I will say (even though he blamed we ex-hippie types) that he was on the same topic as Glenn's post; and that rarely happens here - no troll there. The thread hijacking happens because a small group with enormous time on their hands think that ad hominem (plus association) is the only way to make a comment.

A question for you. When was the last time you saw some new guy post a comment and a cabal member ask him what he meant by the comments? Or, responded in any polite manner? Or, even just wrote, "I disagree" and left it at that?

And finally, have you noticed that we must have a daily "many posts of hate" like we were in an Eric Blair story?
