Which is not to say that I haven't given up on the Repubs. I have. It will take a mighty mighty something big to get me to vote Repub ever again, cept for Ron Paul, but he doesn't really count since the Repubs don't like him either.

Yes, that is how I see it. The Democrats among us here have spun a myth to allow themselves to be on the side of Angels. They will bring heaven on earth just as soon as they wipe out the demons called conservatives.

This is no different that what the dito-heads say, except in reverse. The blind nationalists who just happen to call themselves conservatives have followed evil neo-cons and told the rest of us they were saving the country and the rest of us were God Damn traitors. They have made my blood boil for these 7 long years.

Neither side seems willing to offer a clear, coordinated vision of how they think the U.S. government should behave. It is become the politics of screaming and personal insult. It has become the idiocracy, as in the movie. It is like going to a football game where everyone is drunk and yelling for their team --- and only the other side ever cheats, or so the fan thinks. Fan, short for fanatic. We have fans in politics also.

Sorry guys (and gals) but both teams have been the pits over time. Contrary to myth spinners in the Democratic party --- the old Democratic party was full of old, white, conservative, male politicians who proudly called themselves Democrats. They were not angels.

Here in the south millions upon millions of regular people voted for these conservatives, and they were overwhelmingly Democratic by party registration. The solid south it was called. A few here even want to call the southern Democrats 'Republican'! What a hoot, because it is the same tactic that Glenn is highlighting in his post about Republican claiming Bush is a liberal!

The sad truth is that it took both parties to get us to this horribly bad state we find ourselves in; and we will need men and women in both to have any chance to make it better.

The neo-cons came from the Democratic party, took over the Republican party, ruined it totally, and will return to the Democratic party in a heartbeat. Job one is to destroy this evil ideology called neo-conservatism.

My libral friend Booman hits it on the nose. Stop Bushism and restore the GOP to a responsible half of the two-party system.
