Obama has the same issue.
Obama was born in the Territory of Hawaii before it became a state. Isn't that the same problem? Just askin'.
Not unless he's lying about his age. Hawaii became a state in 1959; Obama was born in 1962.
Just answerin'.
Ted Williams played most of his career after missing his age 24-26 seasons, hitting .342 with 38 homers in his first year back
Of course, he was playing 9 innings every day against other guys who'd missed time due to the war and none of them were named Ted Williams.
He faced pitchers who'd missed time and didn't pitch as well anymore. He faced fielders who'd missed time and didn't field as well anymore.
I'd like to see what kind of numbers Ted would have put up against Major Leaguers who'd been playing the whole time he was gone.
Then again, he was Ted Williams. He'd probably have managed no worse than .341.

I don't want to say the All-Star Game was long, but when it started, Yogi Berra was young.
Yeah, but John McCain was already old even then.
McCain went to school with A.G. Spalding. You can look it up!
..that when the next president is sworn into office, his first act will be to declare Bush, Cheney, Rumsfeld and Rice to be "enemy combatants."
At which point, none of them are ever seen or heard from again.
The new president's next act would be to declare that the Constitution is again the basis for U.S. law.
I have a dream.
...as I thought the last Batman movie was a bore.
I'm tired of really talented directors making brilliant movies only to end up pigeonholed into making one dumb comic book movie after another.
Nolan - The Prestige, Memento, Insomnia
Sam Raimi - A Simple Plan
The Wachowski Brothers - Bound
And so on. It's hard to believe that "Speed Racer" came from the same people who made "Bound."
Enough with the franchises already.
Harold Baines finished his career with 2866 hits. That should be good for the Hall of Fame.
Here's a complete list of all of the players with more than 2866 hits who are not in the Hall of Fame:
It's not much of a list.
For all that dough he's spent....
Obama sure doesn't have much traction.
It's tough to work against the Republican Slime Machine, which really hasn't even gotten started yet.
Despite that, Obama is having to overcome such notions as these:
And so on.
McCain doesn't know Shia from Sunni and thinks that Iraq and Pakistan share a border and yet the press won't write a single negative word about him. He applied for a license to marry his trophy wife while he was still married to, and living with, his first wife. Ever see anything about that on CNN?
Obama has the tougher path. Traction will be difficult.
John McCain actually has a campaign strategy?
Who knew?
All Obama has to do is declare the parties in question to be "enemy combatants." Then he can have them imprisoned indefinitely without charges. At least that's what George W. Bush says.
No one wants to go through a long trial, which the Republicans would call a "witch hunt." So let's just haul them away, never to be heard from again.
Then we can go back to abiding by the Constitution.
It's not secret that the mainstream media is controlled by Republican-leaning interests. So why is Obama getting all of the press?
Because McCain, whom the press has always loved, is out there every single day either saying something stupid, or doing something stupid.
If the media wasn't covering all of the Obama non-news, they'd be forced to remind us that McCain has once again demonstrated that he doesn't know Sunni from Shia, that he's once again imagined that Iraq and Pakistan share a border, or that he's once again reminded us that he doesn't know squat about economics.
Sometimes, less is more. The media is doing their part to help McCain by ignoring him.
While visiting an expensive tourist destination about a year ago, I encountered Gisele Bündchen at a restaurant when the waiter pointed out that she was sitting across the room.
She was astonishingly plain in appearance; so much so that I wouldn't have given her a second glance had I passed her on the street.
You can do a lot with lighting and mirrors.
Why is it widely accepted that politicians are to hold themselves to a higher degree than the rest of us?
Who is doing so? I expect no less from Edwards than I'd expect from anyone else. If you're running for public office, especially that of the presidency, I expect you to be honest.
Pretending to be happily married when you're running around on your spouse is not honest.
I think I'm not alone in those beliefs. Yes, we have a long track record of adultery in national politics, but that doesn't mean that I, or anyone else, must expect it, tolerate it, or accept it.
And cheating on your wife when she has cancer just reeks of Newt Gingrich, and we can all do without that.
I say despite a past life as a figure-skater-wannabe:
If you can't weigh it, count it, or measure it, it shouldn't be an Olympic sport.
Pretty simple criteria, I think.
Twenty five? The letter reads as though it was written by someone who is fifteen.
Marriage requires responsibility. If she can't muster some, then she owes her spouse an apology for wasting four years of his time.
Best advice? Grow up.
Presidents can resign? Really?
Someone should tell George...
