Another Bush

Not to worry, our lovely President will soon proclaim himself President for life of the United Banana Republic and anoint brother John Ellis Bush, a.k.a. JEB, as the likely successor.

Time to move to Canada!

What Gives?

Why do you even ask? Did you really expect the Secret Service to be candid about releasing the logs of Abramoff's visits to the White House?

When was the last time the Bush Administration complied with the laws of this country?

Jackson's Faux - Pas

"But if Jackson doesn't really "believe" that government contracts should be awarded based on one's political views, you'd think maybe he'd come right out and say that -- or at least say why he was saying the opposite until members of Congress started calling for his head."

The answer to that is that he obviously awards contracts based on political affiliation, which is illegal. He put his foot in his mouth, and is now furiously backpedaling. He is not fooling anyone.

Zahn

Bush's and the GOP-controlled Congress' polls are tanking every week. It should tell Zahn and her ilk that they are on the losing side. Yet, none of the media figures seems to realize it. Is the Kool-Aid that powerful?

Goss out

The CIA did not have bad intelligence about Iraq. It was beaten down at every turn by an Administration that had decided to go to war with Iraq from Day 1 of the Bush's Presidency. There have been enough reports (among them the famous "Downing Street" report), that the Administration was looking to fit facts around its fiction. Cheney and Bush ignored every fact that did not fit their delusional theory.

As for Goss, his sudden departure is rather suspicious. I would not be surprised if it turns out that he was involved, one way or another, with the Wilkes-Cunningham racket.

The Brat is Mad

It goes to show you. The Bush crowd can dish it out but it cannot take it. That is what bullies are like: strong as long as they dominate, weak when they are challenged.

The Bush crowd loves to play dirty by smearing its opponents through indirect attacks (the nasty smears on McCain in 2000, the Swiftboating of decorated Vietnam Vets such as Kerry, the repugnant attacks on McClellan, all the while the powers that be were pathetic draft-dodgers). Unfortunately, the public went with this garbage in 2004.

Now the chickens are coming home to roost, and Stephen Colbert captured the mood of the country with his incisive barbs at the White House, the political establishment, and the press, that enabled such a malevolent puppet to run this country. So, The Decider and his supporters are seething.

My hat off to Colbert! I have no doubt that he is going to be the subject of FBI surveillance, IRS harrassment, and ostracism from his colleagues from the so-called "free" press.

Both the New York Times (see Bumiller) and the Washington Post (see Hiatt, Howell, Little, and Kurtz)have become the New Pravda of the Bush Administration. And their editors are wondering why their circulation is declining... Duh!

Hooray for Colbert! It is about time that someone stands up to this gang of lunatic thieves!

Secret Service Logs

The Secret Service will turn over whatever the White House tells it to turn over, i.e., visits by Jack Abramoff that do not implicate the President or any of his minions.

So, who cares? The public will be fed lies as usual.

No, they are not nuts

They are perfectly rational. The Administration and the GOP will do anything, including sacrificing thousand of lives, to remain in power. This Administration has been, from day one, about consolidating a GOP majority, at any costs. This is an Administration that is only concerned by politics, not policies. Why should we expect any of these people to modify their behavior?

The Administration lied us into a war with Iraq. They are trying to lie us now into a war with Iran. It may work. It is very easy to whip up people into a frenzy by appealing to their primal fears.

The consequences of a war with Iran would indeed be catastrophic. But the instigators in the Admoinistration will never suffer the consequences. Look at Wolwofitz, one of the main architects of the war in Iraq, who said that the U.S. would be welcome with flowers and candy. He is now running the World Bank.

We are doomed. Short of a public revolt, the Bush Administration will remain in place until 2008, and possibly beyond. I would not put it past the current cabal running the country to do away with Presidential term limits.

Rove's New Role

Rove has just been given free time to engage into what he does best: savage and smear Bush's opponents. Watch for a revamped version of the Swiftboating action -- against the "rebel" generals; vicious rumors about Democratic candidates and their families; constant pounding of the message that the Democrats are soft on terror; etc... However vile and vicious you think the Republican campaign is going to be, I am sure that, with Rove acting behind the scene, it will surpass your expectations (and mine).

Skin them

One of those charming guys sent off an e-mail to his playmates saying that he wanted to have black women go to his room so he could "kill them and skin them". Does it spell violent psychopath to you?

It brings to mind the BTK killer from Kansas.

How does anyone in their right mind utter such things as "killing and SKINNING" people? This guy is certifiable and should be locked up in an institution for the criminally insane before he acts up on his sick fantasies.

Lieberman

Lieberman is a perfect example of someone who puts Israel's interests ahead of those of his own country. How else to explain his unfaltering support for Bush's misguided Middle Eastern policies?

The last time I looked, he was elected by the people of Connecticut to protect their interests. If he cannot fulfill his mandate because his loyalties are elsewhere, then he should have the integrity to resign. Too many troops from Connecticut have either died or been mutilated in Bush's Iraq folly already.
