And when the next Timothy McVeigh comes back from Iraq - where McVeigh's ideological compatriots have been enlisting so that they can practice for their desired race war - and decides to bomb the New York Times like Ann Coulter suggested he do because he feels he's been stabbed in the back by a Muslim terrorist socialist black supremacist New World Order regime which staged a coup by stealing the election via ACORN so that it could take the money of hard working Americans (read: white Christian fundamentalists) and give it to terrorists, welfare "parasites" (read: black people), many in the MSM will say that only shrill partisan left-wing extremists would see any connection between that and the Republican noise machine.

I was greatly dissapointed during the first debate at Obama's failure to jump all over McCain when he made the comment about freezing most spending with the exception of the military, as if military spending isn't one of the biggest and most corrupting influences on our politics. Obama could have said something like: "Senator McCain seems to think that military spending is devoid of earmarks and corruption - Duke Cunningham sitting in a jail cell says otherwise."

Later in the debate McCain brought up missile defense (Star Wars) as a great program, and, again, Obama failed to point out that missile defense has been one of the most wasteful pork spending that we have. We've been working on it for 30 years, and even if it works it won't work, yet it has put billions of taxpayer dollars into the hands of defense contractors who then take some of that money and give it back to politicians in campaign dollars.

Not Swift's fault, of course, since this just happened the other day. But upon hearing the story of an alleged robbery, molestation, and mutilation of a white, female McCain volunteer by a black, male Obama supporter, Matt Margolis of Blogs for Victory wrote a post titled "Nazism 2.0," linked the story saying that the "American Left" were the new Nazis and that Obama was their Hitler, then quote-mining Obama in an attempt to suggest that Obama is encouraging supporters to target Republicans for political violence. I am not being dramatic… The story above is hardly unique. I am merely responding to the truth that is very much in plain sight. I am dead serious.

The bold emphasis is mine - that's correct - Margolis is saying that black male Obama supporters robbing, molesting, and mutilating white female McCain volunteers at Obama's encouragement is "hardly unique"!!!!!

Noonan updates the post saying that he believes it because "The left’s MO has long been this sort of thuggish intimidation - they want people to be afraid to speak their minds and openly proclaim their views in the public square."

Neither Noonan or Margolis have bothered to update the post pointing out the story is false, despite both now being well aware that it was a hoax. Indeed, Noonan said this in the comments of the post:

What have I to apologize for? The news story came across from credible sources and it is an action entirely in line with normal leftwing tactics - and, indeed, tactics we have seen used in this very election. That this poor woman is suffering from a mental defect doesn’t get your side off the hook for your persistent thuggishness against political opponents. I would have entirely discounted this if I didn’t have scores of examples at my finger tips of leftwingers using violence and intimidation just over the past 8 years or so - and volumes of examples over the past 50 years.

Clean up your side - make it so that any such story will be disbelieved; but don’t ask for an apology from me.

Incidentally, I also spent a good deal of time at Stormfront yesterday, reading the comment thread there about this story. Their thread kickstarted with a link to Drudge's sensational headline, and then is followed by hordes of racist comments about this being the start of a black led race war against whites and what not, and about how typical this sort of attack is. Then, after it was found out to be a hoax, they gave the EXACT same rational as Noonan - that their beleif in the hoax in the first place proves how dangerous and thuggish blacks are, and they even said they therefore had nothing to apologize for!

The only difference between them and Noonan is that they're hating blacks and Noonan is hating Democrats.

The response of the Stormfronters and Noonan and Margolis reminds me of Henry Ford finding out that the Protocols of Zion were false: "The only statement I care to make about the Protocols is that they fit in with what is going on."
