I really always wonder in such cases -- when Krauthammer went to write his column sternly lecturing all of us about how wrong it is to try to use the VT shootings to make political points, does he (a) somehow block out of his brain that, the very day before, he engaged in that exact behavior more extremely than virtually anyone else on the planet, or, does he (b) realize that he is stridently condemning the very behavior he engaged in most flamboyantly but proceed with the lecture anyway?
When he says that the shooting should not be exploited for political posturing he means the plebs; the average people that don't count unless they're part of the select elite which are wise enough to impart knowledge and noble lies on the rest of us who are busy shackled in our caves staring at shadows.
And someone from the APA or some psychiatric board should see about revoking his licence if he still has one. Just like Nancy Grace, he has a habit of making specious appeals to the authority of former profession that are unethical and wrong.
That twit actually acts as if Bush Derangement Sydrome is a legitimate disorder that he has identified. How about running that by your colleagues in a peer reviewed paper, Mr. Krauthammer, and see how well that goes.
And god how that as gotten out of control. We now have - get this - Jonah Golberg Derangement Syndrome.

Seriously. These are the type of people that are helping to shape the course of this nation's future. And they haven't got past the mentality of an 8 year old.
I'm starting to look back at the Clinton impeachment efforts and I keep coming across the fact that the movement was littered with dominionist right-wing Christians. It really was an anti-democratic force determined to overturn the 92 election
So says Father Limbaugh

If this Virginia Tech shooter had an ideology, what do you think it was? This guy had to be a liberal. You start railing against the rich and all this other -- this guy's a liberal. He was turned into a liberal somewhere along the line. So it's a liberal that committed this act. Now, the drive-bys will read on a website that I'm attacking liberalism by comparing this guy to them.
Rush Limbaugh is a monster. This conservative movement that props him up. They are monsters. That is hate-mongering. Hate-mongering at its worst. That's every bit as bad as Schlussel's saying the killer might have been a "Paki". Ten years or so I figure one of Limbaugh's Youth will get around to killing a a "lib". Or maybe it'll be a gang. They can lynch a lib for losing the Iraq war or something.
Imus got fired because he works for a network that presumably does not support bigotry. Rush Limbaugh gets paid to be a bigot.
These have already been touched upon but just adding my two pennies
1. Krauthammer is respected within the circles of people that support Bush still. Isn't this obvious? He's the psychiatrist demi-god who diagnosed Bush Derangement Syndrome. He's like one of the apostles of the Bush loyalty cult or something.
2.No one can expect Krauthammer to recognize any double standard or hypocrisy because he was speaking about political opponenets. Neoconservatives are an exalted elite and the same rules do not apply to them.
3. Debating this point with anyone who will not concede that Krauthammer is a hypocrite is absolutely futile. At that point you have encountered someone who will talk and talk and talk and talk with endless ad hoc explanations for why Krauthammer didn't do anything wrong. Sadly, such an invidual has been sucked into the blackhole of movement conservative nihilistic relativism, from which an intelligent thought can longer escape.
The lady writing a book about the fall of London to hordes of Islamofascists because of the collapse of traditional identify citing a white supremacists to revise reality to help justify endless war on Islamofascists seems to be up his ally.
In a hurry and I didn't skim the rest of the comments, as I'm sure plenty of people already identified the fascist motifs.
I sent him a link
I really hope Mr. Neiwert gets a chance to address this excellent excellent post that Glenn has written. I'm not currently at a point where I could blog about such matters to the extent that I'd like, but what we have here is something very troubling.
If you look at Paxton's book on fascism he notes that more than a philosophy fascism was a feeling. And that it foundation was laid by a set of emotional lava that led to mass hysteria and the notion that democracy had failed to protect the nation from ruin. In Walter's Laquer's book on the same subject he notes that xenophobia is a breeding ground for fascism.
What I've been noticing is that there is an increased buzz that Europe is in decay and will soon by overrun (i.e. outbred) by Muslims. For exmaple
http://dneiwert.blogspot.com/2007/03/post-human.html
In that post Mark Steyn says that Europe is becoming "post-human" and then Mark Noon follows up by saying that Europe must convert to Judeo-Christianity (aka fundamentalist Christian) or die.
http://dneiwert.blogspot.com/2007/02/cull-them-all.html
In that one Steyn suggests the need to "cull" Muslims from Europe.
NOw in this post you've got the same fascist aesthitic from Philips about London being overun by Muslims but on top of that you've got the reality revision from a white supremacist that want to track Mosque attivities.
