re:asinine

Being a member of the military does not define one as being a warmonger. But you avoid the issue I bring up. That is, Salon.com rails against Bush & Co., but nary a word is said of taking dollars from the Pentagon.

Now, we can discuss how altruism of the Pentagon, but generally speaking it is filled with war mongering thugs and those that see no problem with carpet bombing a nation that never, ever threatened the United States. Despite your claim that the military has been "cleansed," the current state of affairs indicates otherwise. It's business as usual.

Your third paragraph is nonsensical. As such, all of your arguments are hamstrung, impotent and irrelevant.

re; Mr. Greenwald

Incredibly interesting response. I never imagined "limiting your ideas reach" was at issue. I stand corrected. However, the "more power to them" is exactly what I worry about. Them having more power is indeed the fight worth fighting. And it's hard to know who's pulling who's levers in this day and age. Thanks for your response. It's the most thought provoking I've received on the subject.

svensker

Agreed, much is tainted in this county. However, voting for a candidate that would not start a useless war is the only power one can have, mostly. Anyone can justly point a finger at the military if they feel the military has betrayed the public trust. Anyone taking money from said military is suspect. Although Greenwald makes a somewhat interesting point in that limiting ones reach, in the face of bankruptcy, is asinine. Either way, those that are fed by the military are suspect, generally, as they mostly believe it is just what they have done.

Damn the DH

For Pete Rose's sake, Kaufman, the damn issue aint to charge or not to charge the mound. The real issue is these panty sack pitchers in the AL being protected by their blasphemous desinated hitter rule.

Take this cocky fireballer Hernandez. The kid's got nastier stuff than Ona Zee. But every time he gives up a dong, he's a-huffing and a-puffing and pouting like somebody stole his lolly pop. Naturally, being a pampered wuss, AL stallion heaver, he's yet to learn that there are consequences for plunking a guy - especially if you drill him the next time you face him, no less. Not to mention that he'd been throwing inside all night - a night, it's worth mentioning, that he brought his B game, at best. He plunked Gerald Laird (as if Laird's leaning over the plate were cause for anything but celebration.)

However talented Hernandez may be, if he had to step into the box and expose his own body to a 90+ heater, he'd damn sure think twice about doing what he done did. And someone, like his ineffective manager, outta pull him aside and mention that to be effective in The Plunk, he should wait till August - August of 09, to lay out Kinsler.

As for Sexson, who can blame the guy? He's got Ray Charles eyes. With his eye, he probably thought Gabbard was throwing behind him. This bannana sucking giraffe should stand off the plate about 8 feet and not swing for three months. By then he might actually see some strikes and will know better than to consider a high heater on the outter half "payback." But when you're whiffing one in every three at bats and being booed at home, it's more likely you'll charge some guy that didn't follow through properly. And like Sexson's approach to hitting, that's just stone cold stupid.

What's the matter with Kansas, Joan?

Dear God, Joan! Please help. Here in Johnson County, Kansas we are feeling extremely "elite." We're hardly white. And if you only consider Mission Hills, not very working class. Now, Obama only crushed Hillary by 50% points on Super Tuesday here. You MUST agree, this is EXTREMELY DISTRESSING. These white, college educated elites are destroying the democratic party here!

I believe we, the elite, non-white, non-middle class voters of very urban Johnson County, Kansas, where the JUNIOR Senator from Illinois preached his divisive message of hope and unity and peace and negotiation and thoughfulness, is a blatantly Ivy Leageish, snooty, bookish, fig-nibbli down right elitist (the guy is just a pussy, let's face it - and FYI, only an elitist would buy into that type of leadership.) Where was I? Oh yes, the Obababots are DESTROYING THE PARTY WITH THEIR ELITISM INTELLIGENCE!

As such, the democratic party, locally at least, can't stand Obama's brand of disingenuous, smarty-pants, peace mongering pragmatism. Us (or is it "those"?) working class crackers hate being condescended to like that, or, ah, so I've heard...

Now, before I tip the foreign fella that's currently shining my shoes two shiny nickles (Like 75% of most Kansans, I'm at the club, you see) I'd like to thank you personally, for undertaking the task of healing this fractured party. A working class Catholic gal like yourself who's blue collar just don't wash cause she made a few bucks and lives in San Fan, is exactly the kind of hero our country needs in this elitist "peaceful" and "changed" world Obama and his mimosa sipping Obamabots have created.

Wright is real

You make good, valid points. But you need to get out of the city more often. Here in The Prairie, that's "fly over" country to you big city types, fervent religious believers on the far right and moderates alike believe wholeheartedly that Obama and Wright are of the same mind.

That's why hearing a trite hack like "working class" Joan Walsh say she has "doubts" about Obama's relationship with Wright could be very damaging in November. Democrats should be circling the wagons. Instead, we're treated to insipid reservations. At Salon.com, at least.

How much will British Petroleum hurt Salon.com

Not one article was run in Salon.com about oil exec's being hauled before congress to testify about the God awful gas prices. Typical of a website who's money comes from BP and the Pentagon.

God Damn Joan Walsh. The blood of BP and the Pentagon is on her hands.
