Squadoosh

Clevetown don't do D. And they'll win squadoosh until they learn about weakside help, cutting off passing lanes, defending the rim and getting back after missed shots--don't even get me started about their sour offensive board stats. And judging by the defensive dunces just brought in, and knowing that the cement footed clod who never wore a jock he didn't routinely faked out of, Danny Ferry obviously does not now, nor will he ever know about winning championships.

Look at MJ in the late 80's (known locally as the Sedale Threatt era) - they didn't play a lick of team D - some blame Sedale, but me thinks Dougy Fresh Collins wanted to outscore erbody and never was interested in a full court, help-oriented defensive strategy. It wasn't until Bill "sounds-like-he-got-kicked-in-the-nuts-after-smoking-a-pack-of-Kools-Cartwright, BJ Armstrong and co. took over did the team finally begin to stop other teams from scoring.

All the recent NBA titles have gone to vicious defenders of the bucket. Now if King James wants immortality, he ought to be lobbying for some guards that can stop dribble penetration and some Dennis Rodman types foaming at the mouth for some boards. I mean Drew Gooden? Donyel Marshall? Nobody'll hear them trees fall in the forest.

100 Long Years

As a lifelong season ticket holding Cub fan, I don't give a good God damn if they call it Dog-Balls-Hugo Chavez-North-Korea-Stalin-Eric Show Field. I just want a pennant. Come on Sweat Lou! One NL pennant!

Baker'll leadoff with Freel

Because he'll need the best glove he can get on the field all the time. Why? Because Baker is old school and thinks any and all of his pitchers can get out of any jam. He's a great tactical manager, but consistantly leaves pitchers--especially his starters, in to face one or two hitters too many. Look for tired arms on Arroyo and Harrang in early August, possible shut downs, and both could top 250 innings. Freel's an animal in the field and has the speed someone mentioned Baker loves. He's a "gamer" and old-schoolers prefer dudes diving and slamming into walls and 'getting dirty' as opposed to getting on base consistantly. With a lineup that'll lead the league in whiffs, it's hard to see how it matters who'll be left stranded on first.

Tragic fall? Really?

So a politician banged a hooker. That is very tragic. Or, it happens all the time and nobody really cares (see the right Senator from Louisiana.)

A shattered political career? That's fabulist drivel. Get on the real story, Shapiro - why the FBI is investigating a "sex ring" (read: a few hookers) with a certain prominent Dem pol client.

Seven long years and you still can't see the forest for the trees.

You're a sellout Walsh

Love to see that '5 Things' is sponsored by the Air Force. Give Haliburton or Exxon Mobile a call. I'm sure they want to make advertising inroads with the limousine liberal crowd you roll with too.

Look in the mirror Walsh, ask yourself what's more important; advertising dollars, or your soul.

Hedges is money

Imagine you're an atheists raised and educated in the bluest of blue states. Imagine you're now living in the belly of the fundamentalists best in "fly over" country. Imagine your surprise when you find out the Christian fundamentalists you know and work with and live next to are, in fact, good, caring people.

What Hedges warns about is the power and danger of absolutism - be it with or without God. When you've seen fundamentalists shamed and back away from their moral perch it gives you hope. We atheists would do well to do the same.

You look at all the ad hominem attacks on our boy Herdges and tell yourself that we, the atheists, aren't biased. Go ahead.

Conason outta be writing 'War Room'

Damn right she owes him an apology. And it's about time Salon.com got on the right side of this issue. But then, the lilly white editorial staff at Salon has no idea - no idea whatsoever how deep the Ferarro comments cut and didn't really see the need to explore the story in depth initially, did ya?

Nope, nothing to see here. Not at Salon.com, unless of course the story is who's screwing who when Governor Douche jets off to DC, right?

Take it from Kopplemen in the "War Room" and the rest of the white hacks at Salon.com - the Feraro "dust-up" is just your run of the mill war monger presidential candidate race baiting with the best of em. Nothing to see here, now keep it moving, we have filth to spew.

Passion of the minority

Interesting article.

When a rag like Salon, once, quite literally, saved from financial bankruptcy by progressive/liberal readers posts articles by someone like Camille Paglia arguing that Global Warming is not happening, or that the subject needs more "study," well that's when the blades come out.

See, there's the irrelevant Mac-PC divide. Then there's words worth fighting for. When Salon, or any other "liberal" outlet for that matter, turns a blind eye to the causes and people that made them, burying their heads in the sand to make a quick buck rather that stand firm against the bastards and parties that are "the problem" then fuck em. All a ya'll might as well have been part of Cheney's energy cable.

See, there's objective reporting, then there's fact-free hit jobs like Paglia. Nix the trite hack and you're readers may forgive you.

How you like them apples for "seeing the bias?"
