Original article: The rubes and the elites

Michael, I'm impressed!

Quite impressive article. Unfortunately I couldn't

read all of it. It got so dumb so fast.

Guess what makes us bitter ? The corruption and

lawlessness in the U.S. government. No accountability.

The rich and connected having a different set of laws

than the rest of us. The Anti-democracy party.

Yes, when the stupid and connected take away our future,

we resent that.

Full page add targeting key cover-up players ?

Dear Glenn,

considering that the duplicity of leading Democrats is the

key problem, and that the general public probably doesn't

know about the extent of this corruption, do you think it

would be a good idea to post full page ads, similar to the

ones you put together just before the July 9 FISA vote ?

By making such adds which are seen by many people, we

would start to undermine the approved story line of the

torture and spy loving democrats. Naming specific players

is important. Obviously I will contribute to such an add.

If the heart of the problem is that we have House & Senate

leadership helping to cover up criminal acts, isn't it time we named and shamed these people ? The democrats should

feel pressure from their constituents to throw out their

leadership.

What can I do to bring the perpetrators to justice ?

Dear Glenn,

thanks as always for your excellent work.

What can I do to bring the people who invaded these homes to justice ?

We fought a war of independence partly because of armed men invading

our homes. I want the names of the armed uniformed men who assaulted

these citizens, and I want them to be criminally charged. How do we do this ?

Of course I will continue to support the ACLU to defend the victims.

But what do we do about pursuing the criminals ? I don't simply want

the politicians to be embarrassed. People should know that if they invade

americans' homes and point semi-automatic weapons in our faces, they

will have to go to jail. This is the only deterrent. There is a whole police/ political

class that has never seen any democratic feedback. So they are in effect

not part of the democracy.

These people have brought Iraq back to america, into our homes.

I cannot accept this.

best,

A possible explanation for Rove's behavior

assuaging his own conscience.

If Rove can convince himself that "everyone does it", then he does not have to feel bad about himself. It doesn't matter how poor the examples he gives appear to us. They need only assuage his guilt in his own mind.

Karl Rove appears to be engaged in some sort of public self-help exercise. Unfortunately there may be many steps yet to go before he is laid to rest.
