I used to listen to her a lot (Madonna, not Paglia), because I used to listen to the radio a lot...like, 25 years ago.
These days I don't listen to the radio much...and going down to the record store for a Madonna cd is about the last thing I'd do.
in your dreams!
I come here not to study Joan Walsh, but to bury her...under a growing pile of electronic correspondence.
this person may just want to make Obama supporters look bad.
Hillary will have my vote in the general, but not before. I think the best candidate to do what you're suggesting, dress up progressivism in a way to make it seem mainstream, is Obama, by far.
If he's telling the truth, he is willing to vote for a woman (which disproves AKA's point).
If he's lying, he's a troll...and maybe not the best example of an Obama supporter.
I would like to point out that people are constantly constructing personas for themselves, and the "interest list" is just as valid a technique as any other.
Also, those people who seem most in need of this "advice" will likely ignore it, while the true enthusiast will not even understand what you're talking about.
Promoting the "disciple" meme is almost as bad as using foul language, in my opinion. Typical of your posts, though.
Experts and editorial boards have given the idea a thumbs down, reasoning that such a tax break would actually make people drive more.

Now you're getting the hang of it.
The interview I read said she was concerned about doing hard time.
...and use it to buy a week or two of your mandated healthcare plan!
"I reject you"
Do you see your name in my post?
No.
I like it when you pick.
Always with the extremes!
the REAL battle is in...uh, Oregon?
Do we have to?
the pain of this primary will continue...
with the video part
this whole web site is "stirring the pot".
What it would take for her to concede defeat is not the various consolation prizes listed in the article.
Instead, she would have to be convinced that there is no possible way she could win.
Since this is not currently the case, she will continue.
You are wrong...Joan Walsh will be here FOREVER!
The KateTexIndex is the weighted percent value representing KateTex's probability of voting for Obama.
The KateTexIndex is currently estimated to be 0.00%
I ran for student government in college about 20 years ago...the experience was very much like the Salon letters section.
so I can say something clever.
maybe she's upset...a period of mourning is in order.
You get all your social needs met through your partner...why mess with these "drinking buddies"? You can just drink at home. Especially if your partner ever leaves you.
The main thing is: don't get out of your comfort zone. Remember that the computer can always be your friend, if it ever comes to that.
The paradox of alcohol is that while it seems to make some things better, it is actually making everything worse.
There is this unexamined assumption (some people have already mentioned it, but it bears repeating) that the voting patterns in the primary will somehow be recreated in the general election. Of course this is not true.
Sen. Clinton has herself noted that blacks tend to vote Democratic in presidential elections; we can expect that many of the "hardworking, white" voters Clinton has identified would do the same for Obama.
Well, I've seen it as an insider, and the person trying to keep me out was wrong.
The mental health system is the lesser of two evils, the greater being the criminal justice system.
Certainly there is stigma attached to being an inpatient or even receiving therapy...but life is long. The LW is only 28...will it be better when she's a violent alcoholic at 48?
My point is that better numbers in the primary against Obama are not the same as better numbers against McCain in the general, regardless of the particular demographic.
As for the "nasty Obama poster" issue...many people have brought this up. But I'm not convinced that my opinion has any influence on them at all, whether that opinion is presented politely or not. Of course the undecided voters might be influenced...although I don't see many of those here.
To me, it sounded like you made the correction to make the further point that while the Democrats already have the black vote, Clinton would bring in the white working class.
I don't know what evidence exists to support this, besides the primary results...and the primary results don't really predict the general election results.
No, I have never used the dreaded C-word here...I'm not sure what other unwritten rules I might have broken. However, I was once told to FOAD (f*ck off and die) by a Clinton supporter. So I guess I should just generalize this to represent ALL Clinton supporters.

When you correct someone, but don't really address the point they were trying to make, you're not fostering good communication. You're obviously not interested in the ideas in the post...you're just trying to make points on someone you perceive as a threat to the "truth", and create a springboard for presenting your own ideas.
Having looked at a fair amount of demographic data in my work, I can say that the above statement is probably right. The government is definitely lagging behind the culture in terms of accurate ethnic categorization.
hey, it's just a thought
