But the argument that the right is using race to defeat Obama's "agenda" (whatever that is) is a bit disingenuous in light of the fact that Obama himself used accusations of racism against the Clintons (with full bore help from the MSM) to achieve his dirty win in the primaries. Obama uses race every chance he gets, just not quite in the same way that that the right wing bloviators do. There are plenty of economic interests lined up behind Obama (like all of Wall Street) who have absolutely no qualms about how their agenda is achieved, including the most dishonest and down and dirty uses of race and charges of racism by the White House and its operatives, as long as these benefit their interests.

Face it, Joan. Both sides of the aisle suck. Try being a bit more honest about this.

We are not here to be silenced, we are here to be informed. You see, Obama works for us. We don't work for him. He is not going to pull us into a boardroom and tell us to shut up, or be fired. We do the firing. We are in charge. We are the American people.

Thank you, thank you. This should be printed on the front page of every newspaper, on the opening page of every blog, as a running head on "news" program of whatever stripe, into the foreseeable future. It should also be tattooed on Axelrove's and Emanuel's foreheads.

Gosh, you must be one of those relics who took a civics class way back when.

The huge majority of Americans long ago made up their minds about Rush Limbaugh and whether or not he's a big fat idiot. Believe it or not, some of us, actually a lot of us, have never paid any attention to Limbaugh at all after having limned the basics of his gasbag persona. BTW, how about checking out Bob Somerby's Daily Howler one of these days and finding out how it's really done when it comes to smart, objective analyses of contemporary media coverage? Somerby certainly doesn't spare the right. But neither does he spare the left. You're becoming a choice example of someone who panders to what Somerby characterizes as the rubes of the left. In short, you are contributing to the ongoing shredding of the dwindling remains of thoughtful liberaldom. I sometimes wonder just how much you're getting paid for doing so.

How can anyone can make this bald face lie after Obama's track record in his first eight months in office? Obama has betrayed just about every liberal principle that counts. He has lied through his nice shiny teeth over and over (and practically never been called to account for his many lies), he has repeatedly sold out the public interest in favor of Big Money, his record on civil rights stinks to high heaven, and he clearly has no moral compass. Obama is NOT a liberal, he is NOT a progressive. He clearly gives a rat's ass about affordable health care for Americans. Health care, excuse me, health insurance reform, was just another toy lined up in the Obama presidential game cabinet. In the end, all these toys are of little consequence to him, merely game pieces with which he quickly becomes bored.

Obama is a party of one, devoted solely to his own electability and his own advancement. Just how many betrayals will it take for some of you to finally admit that Obama stole the presidential election under completely false pretenses? Obama is NOT a nice guy, he is not even a decent one by most measures. He is a poseur out for himself and himself alone, and he is doing tremendous damage to this country. Before it's over, he will be the death of the Democratic party. There's no way around the fact that Obama is shaping up to be the most disastrous president this country has ever seen, at one of the most crucial junctures in its history. Hard to believe anyone could trump Bush II, but we're seeing this very thing happen before our eyes.

Makes me want to vomit at times. How many of you out there branding as racists those with whom you don't agree have any experience at all of anything other than white bread suburbia and cloistered living among those who look very much like you, in other words, a world that's composed almost exclusively of middle class white people? For millions of you, voting for The Black Candidate was your big chance to prove just how virtuous and nonracist you are, sheltered as you have been from life in the trenches (hard not to notice that the great majority of Obama stickers and signs down here in TX were found in the most exclusive white neighborhoods and on the most expensive, late model cars). There are plenty of reasons for racial distrust and dissension out there. Not all of them stem from the behaviors of whites. But feel free to get up on your soapboxes and get your hate on, damning those with whom you have virtually no experience nor insight into.

Far as I can tell, his true base has always consisted - and always will - of those who can most quickly plump up his resume and line his pockets. The rest are just convenient suckers, brought on board with vapid slogans, sleight of hand, and outright lies, suckers there to serve Obama's ends for however long they're needed, upon which they're discarded at best with no compunction, at worst with a sneer (witness the millions of unterbussen so aptly classified by Lambert at Corrente.)

So yah, let's all crawl out from under whichever bus we been tossed beneath, and Stand With Obama In His Hour Of Need. Just remember where in the queue your bus is parked, otherwise, pandemonium will shortly ensue.
