Just how many vats of kool-aid have you drunk?

Hillary Clinton's time in the sun following her big victory in Kentucky's Democratic primary Tuesday night might be brief, as later on in the night Barack Obama will deliver a victory speech of sorts...

And just when does the 'bow down all to Obama' crap end??? Ever? Hillary Clinton has scored a landslide win in Kentucky and seems to be holding her own in Oregon. This qualifies as genuine news. Hillary has clearly hit her stride while Obama's sun is starting to set - especially with the voters, who have been trending Hillary's way for many weeks now. But attention must be diverted Obama's way ASAP. Why? Got any good reasons?

Furthermore, you really believe Obama would've summoned the grace Hillary displayed in her comments about Ted Kennedy today? Kennedy kicked Hillary in the teeth (not the first time), yet she can still find it in herself to say kind words about him. Put the shoe on Obama's foot and he would almost undoubtedly still be sulking. Hurt feelings and all, you know. Sorry, but Obama doesn't have the goods to be president of this country, something which becomes more and more self evident as the days go by, so please stop trying to cram him down our throats. Do you really want McCain as president that badly?

Delegate system is completely whacked

As someone posted over on TalkLeft tonight:

About 20,000 turnout for a caucus in Idaho and Obama nets 12 delegates.

Hillary wins Pennsylvania by over 200,000 votes and nets 12 delegates. What a system!

Any more questions about Obama 'gaming the system'? Not exactly a winning formula for the general, is it?

@snoman

I'm sure that made all 20 Democratic voters in Idaho very, very happy.

@MikeB

In terms of relative delegates earned, an overwhelming win in a small and conservative state is equivalent to a smaller majority in a larger swing state. It's an equally valid reflection of the will of the people.

Maybe we should tell New York that Idaho will be determining things come November? Gosh, are they gonna be surprised!

I hate both of the Clintons now: they've poisoned all of my happy college-aged memories of believing that the country might be in the hands of people who had its best interests at heart.

So, Bush didn't even make a dent? Wow, some people have all the luck.

@achilles

As in real life, I am quite civil until I'm attacked (in salon's case, over and over and over again - as a racist, douche bag, ignorant bitch...). When under attack, I will fight back, in my own name and in the name of others who have been trashed. However, I daresay I have never ever stooped to the level of ad hominem nastiness heaped on Clinton supporters by Obama supporters on this site and so many others in the blogosphere. The Obama camp has become notorious for its nastiness (all in the name of making the world a better place). .

And so ends another chapter of naa naa boo boo. Does this ever end?

@mattcable

There's no reason to believe that Hillary would have an easier time turning purple states like Kentucky and W.V. than Obama will have turning places like Virgina and Illinois.

Ah, but there is. You'll find it a previous sentence in your post. It's calling 'respecting the voters'.

Kevin Spacey speaks

Courtesy of TalkLeft -

Today on MSNBC, Kevin Spacey, a star of HBO's film depiction of the 2000 Florida Presidential vote travesty, Recount, said about the current Florida Democratic delegate fiasco:

"I do not see how you can pretend two million people did not vote."

Amen.

Wednesday, May 21, 2008 03:01 PM

@renegade - not so fast

Here's how: you tell the tens of millions of voters beforehand that it won't count. That makes the contest invalid. End of story.

This is one of the biggest lies propagated by the Obama campaign. There was nothing in the 'rules' about not counting the votes, nothing at all. Why this isn't more widely known is beyond me. It's one of the more disgusting aspects of this whole primary season.

Note: Ah, the lovely, foulmouthed Franny has returned. Nice.

Stuff it, walter

Obama is where he is only because of far less than 'transcendental' politics. Obama has gamed the system all the way, hidden his background, lied early and often, and treated Hillary Clinton like dirt - all with the complicity of the media. The big secret is that millions and millions of voters see Obama for exactly what he is and do not want him for a candidate. The Democratic race is in many ways a statistical dead heat. But go right ahead - keep sticking pins in your Hillary doll and maybe she'll just magically drop dead. But 'til she does, this isn't over. Not by a long shot.

@BobBob

Well, sweetie, all it took was one quick look through a couple pages of your posts to peg you for Yet Another Hater For Obama. Jeesus, why would anybody want to vote for a candidate who attracts people like you in such numbers? I'm serious. You and your fellows are simply the far right in a mirror. You're blinded by hate, why or for what, who knows. But I know I'll take moderate Republicans over your type any day, anywhere. This primary season has been a real eye opener for millions of us and the view is ugly beyond words. So very very ugly.

Hate away, ye Obamaites

How much deeper do you think you can dig that hole? Ah well, the Unity Pony fell in and croaked its first day out, so you might as well keep flailing just away for the hell of it, I suppose.
