Hullo?

Forget the recent polls showing that some Hillary Clinton supporters won't vote for him -- once Clinton gracefully bows out of the race, her supporters will close ranks around Obama. Anyone who seriously thinks a significant number of them are going to vote for McCain is delusional. The Democrats will go into November united and energized.

And you are basing this on what, exactly? News for you, Mr. Kamiya: many Clinton supporters seriously dislike Obama, not just for his more than cavalier treatment of Hillary, but for his duplicity, lack of apparent belief in anything other than his own welfare, and utter narcissism (two autobiographies, count 'em). Poetry? Only if hardball Chicago politics is your idea of lyricism. As for Obama being a staunch liberal - right. He cared so much about South Side Chicagoans living in Rezko's tenements, didn't he? What has this man ever done for anyone that didn't have a price tag on it? This guy isn't poetry. He's a pig in a poke, so please stop trying to pawn him off as some sort of Galahad. Credulity does have its bounds.

@FranZooey - world's worst debater?

I wish we were a better country but I think those ignorant Texas girls: KateTex, ProudTexasGirland ShaunVM represent the majority of people in our country. People too lazy to learn anything about the world they live in and therefore call us elites...

Sorry, dearie, but you just proved the opposition's argument. BTW, the screen name kind of devalues Salinger (I read a book!).

both bloody rags

Well, well, another foul-mouthed, mysognistic Obama supporter. Quel surpris. If this is the change we've been waiting for, a whole lot of us would prefer the relative happiness of the Dark Ages.

@calgodot - le divorce

Those stating they will "sit at home" on election day, or who claim they will vote for McCain if Senator Clinton is not on the Democratic ticket, are either fools or Republicans in fact and manner.

Ever think about that fact that we may not be not leaving the Democrat party, but rather realizing that the party has abandoned us? Think of it as alienation of affection, abuse, desertion - all long accepted as grounds for divorce.

Sour flipping grapes

What would it take for some of you sour snobs to admit that Hillary Clinton has beaten the pants off Obama - who outspent her two to one in WV as the MSM bloviators supplied him with endless free endorsements. and Uncle Teddy attempted to rip Hillary a new one. Obama then flew the coop to MO and gave a speech this afternoon (before the WV polls even closed) just so he could get himself some more free face time. In his speech, Obama didn't even bother to congratulate Hillary, which is all too typical of this pampered, snit-throwing, self-appointed messiah whose only reaction to a public pasting is to throw another sulk.

Turns out Obama's little victory lap was not only premature, it was stupid, but what can you do when you're born with ten times the hubris alloted to any sane person? Hillary appears to have won 58 percent of the college-educated vote in WV. But I suppose we're supposed to pretend all these voters are bitter toothless racists living in trailers? This is a resounding defeat for The One. Why not just suck it up and admit it?

Question, Alex

Would it be possible for you to write about a clear-as-glass Hillary Clinton victory without dragging in Obama Concerns at every possible juncture? The supposedly vanquished Hillary Clinton scored an impressive win in West Virginia today, one which should rattle at least a few SDs and shame a whole raft of pundits. Because I don't watch TV, I read Hillary's speech on the Internet, and also read reactions to it over on TalkLeft. A number of posters on TalkLeft were so affected by what she had to say, they were crying. And these aren't babes in the woods, but rather seasoned political junkies who've seen every trick in the book. So, just for once, couldn't you have given the woman her due? This may not fit in especially well with salon's All Obama All The Time agenda, but it might make you look just a teensy bit more viable than Timmeh and Tweety.

try again, john762

West Virginia's primary was only open to registered Democrats and Independents. So the very tired 'rethuglican' canard won't work this time. Next?

Original article: She's still in it to win it

@Bohica

Yes, the frigging media (including online blogs) just don't get it, do they? In spite of their best efforts to bury Hillary Clinton, millions of voters continue to not just like Hillary, but increasingly, love her - a development which you can bet the media will never, ever cover. This isn't idol worship, instead it's deep affection and regard for a candidate who voters sense cares about them. Like you, my contributions to Hillary tend to be in direct proportion to my anger at the media. And tonight was no exception.

@jeffersonian

The hatred you express is spitting scary, every bit as scary as the Klan you often evoke in the name of Hillary Clinton and all her supporters. You need to look in the mirror one of these days. Seriously, how in the world do you live with that much acid in your soul?

Original article: Edwards endorsing Obama

Edwards didn't endorse Obama

He endorsed cutting off the nomination process. In the interest of 'unifying' the Democratic party, of course. This stinks. And it won't help Obama one bit. Edwards's perfidy will simply make Hillary's supporters dig their heels in deeper, because one too many old-time higher-ups have stabbed her in the back. The latest shall henceforth be known as Benedict Edwards, if not mud.
