@snoman
[Read the article: Obama's got ground game]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]You say: "It is funny how you think Hillary is more likely to beat McCain. Nevermind that she and her orgainization couldn't outmanuever a relative newcomer to national politics."
Several things here: 1) Yes, Obama's campaign has been well organized, but it has also been incredibly lucky; 2) The media have slashed Clinton almost without let up, while Obama quickly morphed into the Untouchable, thus propelling him along an incredibly fast, undeserved upward trajectory; 3) Obama has been the beneficiary of tons of money donated by very young voters, many of whom have very little political acumen and very little interest in the issues. For the most part, they are likely not in this for the long haul and may well lose interest before November.

[Read the article: Hillary at twilight]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]Did you read the abc news story for which reality counts posted a link? If not, you should, because from here it looks like a potential bombshell for Obama, with Rezko providing the explosives. I can't see how this isn't going to resonate big time with voters:

@ Ron Smith - the name game
[Read the article: Obama's got ground game]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]You say: "You may want to refer to yourself as 'New Orleans Kate' since that is where you are from.
Well, actually, I grew up in northern Illinois and subsequently lived in a number of places (Chicago, Seattle, San Francisco, Raleigh NC, Miami, New Orleans...). Then Katrina blew me west and turned me into an accidental Texan. I can now yodel 'yeehaa' with some authority.

@ lord b - Rezko story
[Read the article: Hillary at twilight]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]You say: "I just read it and from what I can tell, there is a lot of speculation and innuendo but no evidence of any wrong doing by Obama. He has already said his involvement with Rezko was a "bone-headed mistake." I have no reason yet to not take him at his word."
Tell me this: how can Obama possibly pass himself off as a break from the sordid political past he loves to preach about in ringing phrases, when his whole political career sprang from that past and he benefited hugely from it? His whole flipping campaign has been BASED on his being the candidate who represents a complete departure from that past. Meanwhile, Obama hasn't even come close to admitting where and how he came from politically, and few have seemed to care - something which I've found utterly depressing.
Also, how can Obama be allowed to pass off 13 YEARS of a close relation with Rezko as a 'bone-headed mistake'? I seem to remember Obama, not two weeks ago, characterizing the sum of his relationship with Rezko as 'five hours of legal work' or something equally as paltry. I'm sorry, but doesn't this fall in the category of flat out lying?

[Read the article: Hillary at twilight]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]Sorry, I do give you credit for posting the link, but this story goes WAY beyond Obama and his wife wanting a bigger yard. It clearly demonstrates that Obama has been associated with Rezko for a very long time, that Rezko has been a major fundraiser for Obama, and that Obama has apparently lied outright about (at the very least, completely misrepresented) the nature and duration of his relationship with Rezko. I have sat back for some time now, wondering how on earth Obama expected to keep this story under wraps in perpetuity, wondering why on earth no major media had put any effort into investigating it. After all, the Rezko story goes to the very heart of Obama's campaign - his claim to represent an entirely new kind of politics. I get no joy from this, believe me. But I am relieved to see a measure of my faith restored in the Fourth Estate. At least for today.

More on Obama/Rezko
[Read the article: Obama's got ground game]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]This story from the Jan. 27 edition of the Chicago Sun-Times shows conclusively that Obama lied about his relationship with Rezko after Hillary Clinton worked the subject into debate. The last few paragraphs tell the tale:

We interrupt this - sorry! More on Obama/Rezko
[Read the article: Hillary at twilight]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]Okay, let me preface my posting of this link with the following: I have been deeply concerned all along about the implications of Obama/Rezko vis a vis the Democrats fielding a viable candidate for the November election. Rezko is definitely in the Achilles heel category. His relationship with Obama, oddly enough never explored in the MSM, is about to become very public, just in time for this Tuesday's perhaps decisive primaries. It's clear that Obama has grossly misrepresented his dealings with Rezko. It should also be very clear that this would (and should) considerably weaken his viability as the Democratic candidate. Here's the link to a Jan. 27 Chicago Sun-Times story which makes it clear that Obama, questioned about Rezko following Clinton's mention of the latter in the previous debate, lied about the nature and length of his dealings with Rezko (the most pertinent paragraphs come near the end):

@ShawnWM - SNL gets it
[Read the article: Obama's got ground game]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]You say: "She's had to fight the right and the crackpot left simultaneously while the press tossed softballs to the Obamateur..."
So, anybody watch the SNL debate sketch last night? Too bad the writers' strike didn't end earlier, because SNL obviously gets it, not a great leap when the media bias against Clinton has been so abundantly clear. They really nailed the fairly disgusting dynamics of the Austin debate.
And then...Clinton herself shows up, warm and funny and very poised and getting big laughs and lots of applause. SNL normally represents the very demographic which is currently so enraptured by Obama. And SNL clearly does not like Obama. Their apostasy is quite telling.
