It's obviously not about 'daring' to vote for Obama, it's about denigrating, even attempting to destroy Hillary (and Bill) Clinton in the bargain. This is hardly an original thought. It's simply self evident.
Aided and abetted by the MSM and the Democratic leadership, not to mention more sexism than some of us thought possible, Obama's hubris has been allowed to run wild throughout this campaign season, as he has played all sides both ways, pillaged Hillary Clinton, and managed to come out on top for far longer than should have been possible. Like a figure from a Greek tragedy, the would be hero Obama is now crashing before our eyes.
Whatever the reverend's motivation, he is part and parcel of the Obama myth, the candidate's self proclaimed mentor/uncle/spiritual leader. It's no use claiming that Wright isn't up for election and shouldn't factor into the election equation. Separation of church and state doesn't cut it this time, because the sum of Obama's parts, as added together by Obama himself, would certainly have to include his 20-year association with Wright, with all the religious/spiritual overtones implicit in this rather overblown but carefully crafted image. The emphasis on this near-divinity has made numerous liberals very nervous, and rightfully so.
As someone put it the other day: the wheels are coming off the coronation carriage. The sight may not be pretty, but the laws of democratic reality dictate that this crash had to happen sooner or later.
For all of you vainly trying to minimize Obama's relationship with Wright: the latter was not simply the candidate's pastor, far from it, and this according to Obama himself. Wright was his spiritual mentor, remember? The one he picked. The one he has written about. The one he dedicated a book to. The Wright horse is out of the barn and there's no use trying to transmogrify him into a mere dust mote.
As you say, we may have separation of church and state (thank heaven), but Obama has done his damndest to blur the distinction. He has all but set himself up as the Ultimate Christian, anointing himself on the public stage with Rev. Wright as his spiritual mentor, the man who "brought him to Jesus". Obama has made a very big deal of his religious creds, to the point where he has made some liberals very nervous. And if, as you say, the personal choices Obama makes regarding his religion are 'nobody's damn business', how can this be when Obama originally (and very foolishly, as it turns out) made sure they were everybody's business, whether some of us liked it or not? After all, Obama's personal choices have been broadcast in his rather self-serving books, one of which drew its title directly from a Wright sermon.
As for those of you who say that Wright is not an issue, are you kidding? This isn't a case of guilt by association. It's very much one of guilt by participation - by Obama.
For all those angrily citing 'separation of church and state' and asking why the hell should Wright be an issue, take a look at this handbill concocted by the Obama campaign for last week's (yes, last week's) PA primary. Looks more like a church program than a campaign flier - and it features Wright:

Do you have the slightest clue that it's nasty, sexist posters such as you who are helping to drive your candidate into the ditch? The nature of his or her followers gives strong indications as to the character of a leader, and believe me, the extreme and horribly offensive partisanship of far too many Obama supporters is not going unnoticed Out Here.
The only thing to recommend Obama early in the game was, gasp, HE WAS A NEW KIND OF POLITICIAN! Actually, not really a politician at all, but more on the order of a man who would deliver us from all previous sins and mend our wicked ways (as he interpreted them, of course). Well, okay, that one's been buried once and for all. So just what the hell DOES this guy have to recommend him, other than a death grip on some shaky numbers? Speak up, Odrama fans. The meter is running.
Can we now close the curtain on the Cult Of Obama and get back to the business of supporting the ONE Democrat left standing who has a chance to win the general election??? THAT WOULD BE HILLARY CLINTON!!! Along with other posters on this site, I am sick and tired of Obama and his more rabid and/or cynical supporters wrecking the Democrat party's chances in this all important election, all for what, Obama's greater glory and the chance for a bunch of white people to give themselves high marks for virtue at closeout prices?
Face it: Obama simply wants to seize the golden ring, no matter his lack of readiness or merit, no matter the cost to this country or to his party, a cost which has already been way, way too high. So please, all you Hillary haters, take a long, hard look at yourselves. What is the object here? To win this November's election, or to prove to the world just how damned Liberal and Virtuous you are?
This country is heading for a hell of a ditch, and Hillary Clinton is the only candidate who holds out the least promise of pulling us back from the brink. Go ahead and laugh, as I'm sure you will. I don't care.
