  • A Miracle...

...could be what it would take to get Hillary into the White House. Ironically, though, I think that the Christian Right has more real world political sense than Hillary supporters do. The Clinton backers insist on supporting a candidate who is pretty intensely disliked outside of staunch Democratic circles, whereas the insane Jesus Posse will probably hold their noses and vote to keep a godless Democrat out of the WHite House.

And by the way Salon, this is a bullshit headline that assumes that Hillary will be the nominee before there has been a single primary.

I don't really follow broadsheet that closely, but I find evolutionary biology/psychology pretty fascinating so I pay attention when I see an article on the topic(s).

Why do smart people do pretty stupid or pointless things? What influence do our monkey ancestors have on us? Why are men and women different, generally speaking, in the ways that they are different? I am eager to know the ways that science might answer these questions, and I suspect that the answers we glean will fly in the face of what strident feminists and goonish male chauvinsts want to believe about human nature.

Dude, for all your pretensions, your argument comes down to the old constipated libertarian argument that it is wrong for Group A to force Group B to assist Group C.

You chode. I hope you get the Clinton campaign pays you by the word, because otherwise that last post was just a colossal waste of everyone's time.

If Hillary wins the nomination, we can count on the support of black women? Really? You mean they won't vote for Mitt Romney? That is a relief.

How fascinating it is that you claim to know a moderate Republican who claims he will vote for Hillary. That proves that her unbelievable high negative ratings are just an illusion.

To be serious for a moment, I cannot understand why there is any support for Clinton at this site. Hillary is most conservative of the Democratic candidates. She is the most corporate. She is the most bellicose in her support of hawkish stupidity (Iraq War). And even though she is more conservative than we would want her to be, she manages to be despised by moderates and the right like no one else. Quite a trick indeed.

  • Wrong!

"The people that hate the Clintons REALLY hate the Clintons, and they do make a lot of noise, but most of the country, even the south, either liked him, or were willing to give him a fair shake, I think it's probably the same with HC, sure, the extra chromosome Clinton haters will scream and holler, but most people will probably do what they did throughout the 90s, shake their heads and ignore them."

Ok smart guy, why don't you go to Zogby.com and look at the poll that came out on October 20. It finds that 50% of likely voters say they will never vote for Hillary. That number is higher for her than anyone else. So all that Hillary has to do to win is persuade 100% of the undecided voters to vote for her and convince some of the people who hate her to stay home.

I think the fact that your dumb ass gets a little red star next to his post shows us on which side Salon's bread is buttered.

    Wake up, fools!

Hillary is likely to make it happen. That Zogby poll that came out a couple days ago showed that among all the Democrat AND Republican presidential candidates, Hillary is the most unpalatable; 50% of likely voters say they will not ever consider voting for her.

The Democrats who vote for Hillary in the primary deserve the Republican President they will likely get if she is the nominee.

"Although we all know there is a significant class of Americans who would crawl over broken glass to vote against Hillary Clinton, these people wouldn't vote for Obama or Edwards or any other Democrat, either."

This is where Hillary backers are wrong. It is not just the Republican base that is against Hillary. She is also unpopular among independents. That is why the Zogby poll showed her with the highest percentage of people that will NEVER vote for her.

She is seen as phony and ambitious by people outside of the GOP base. The closer that a candidate gets to an Presidential election the phonier and more transparently ambitious they seem anyway, so...

I really wonder about the people who write on this site supporting her. Presumably Salon attracts people who are politically to the left of center, yet Hillary is to the right of the other Prez contenders (not that this helps her with Republicans or Independents). Her votes on the Iraq War and her stupid hawkishness on Iran followed by her ridiculous explanations are just pathetic and pretty Republicanish.

I half-believe that the letter writers are working for the Clinton campaign, because their logic completely escapes me.

Way to use the real estate on this site: with a liberal chick churning out a frivolous bit of piffle pondering how to make dudes ever more effeminate. I would very much prefer if dudes did not start wearing make-up. The whole metrosexual thing is totally annoying. A bunch of guys, prancing around, worrying about their hair and make-up... it's unbecoming of a dude.

...is basically residual Bill love and knee jerk identity politics.

If we nominate her, we deserve the Republican President we get, whether it's Hillary or (more likley) the Republican nominee.

    Goddamn, Democrats are stupid.

...for Hillary's ill-fated campaign. The woman can't win in a general election. Everybody knows it except, apparently, a lot of idiot democratic primary voters. By helping the Clinton campaign, your efforts are helping the GOP. Nice job, morons.
